In D2, Iceland lost against Russia earlier in that tournament, and the only reason the Ducks beat Russia in the semifinal to get to the final is they sat injured Banks (who refused to say anything about his injury making him a liability for the team) for the new guy Russ with the knucklepuck. So by the time the rematch championship game with Iceland happened, Banks injury was healed but the roster was now full (with Russ added). So Charlie allowed him to win a championship as Charlie co-coached with Bombay, and Banks even gave Charlie the American flag at the end anyway to lead the team victory lap

I’ve always said banks over Conway, and the reason is how Charlie was written in the 2nd movie as wanting to transition into coaching. Banks hit the final penalty shot in that game against Iceland. If you look at banks, he was a prodigy from day one. In the 3rd movie they kept that going with him getting pushed to varsity ahead of everyone. The clear answer is banks, while Conway was kind of more like a most improved or something

I have very fond memories of watching the Ducks movies as a teenager in the 90's. Have just watched the first three episodes of the new series, and so far have been loving it.

He hits, he stands up for his team, his slap shot can break glass, he'll score even if the goalie is in position by legally propelling the goalie into the net with the force of that freaking CANNON. Now tell me you'd rather have Conway, who's not even the best forward on the team, or Banks, who's gonna spend most of the year on IR. Well at least Connie Moreau knows who the stud forward on the team is.

He became Fulton Reed's partner on D and truly unlocked his full potential. Kenny Wu was the third Bash Brother, who also came along in D2. First he was a skill guy, but then he developed some grit.

I loved (and still do) the Mighty Ducks movies. When I heard about Mighty Ducks Game Changers and that Emilio Estevez was going to be in it, I just knew I had to watch it. I’m liking it so far but I have to be honest, I was surprised at how the character of Gordon Bombay is. I’m guessing he does kind of go back to the way the character use to be in the movies. Imo this re-boot is the best one done in many years, It helps it has the original creator in Steven Brill, only he can really get feel of the Ducks and be able to move it to a new generation - I think this new series will be very very good.

Emilio said Conway and said that he played a father figure to him so the coaching went deeper, but he didn't talk about why Banks was a better player, and he wasn't. If Conway really was the best player on the team, then he would not have so readily given up his spot to coach in Ducks 2 when Banks became healthy. I know Charlie was making the sacrifice play, but there had to be some recognition also that he was helping the team more by letting Banks have his spot.

They put out like 1 or 2 weeks ago that the actors of Fulton, Guy, Connie, Averman, Kenny and Adam are coming back this season. Joshua Jackson had a scheduling problem, Kenan's busy and IDK what else but Emilio and Steven said that the door's always open and they want to have everything they can come in if they get more seasons.
The writing on the Mighty Ducks: Game Changers is actually pretty good. They fully go through the recovery of "Gordon Bombay" and they do a good job telling the story. Not sure they will get a second season but getting one season is pretty amazing.

Yes, there are 9 episodes now but don't tell me it is like the old series - it is not. They are trying very hard to make it work with Lauren Graham and Josh Duhamel - maybe it will, maybe it won't. As it stands right now Big Shot got season 2 and it may be done. Same may go for The Orville after three seasons.
I feel like Charlie Conway needs to come back and become the coach while Gordon Bombay becomes his mentor again (kind of like yan(?)) bc through his whole character arch, Charlie was known not to be the best player but with the most heart and then at the second or third movie, Bombay told him that he has coaching skills

They put out like 1 or 2 weeks ago that the actors of Fulton, Guy, Connie, Averman, Kenny and Adam are coming back this season. Joshua Jackson had a scheduling problem, Kenan's busy and IDK what else but Emilio and Steven said that the door's always open and they want to have everything they can come in if they get more seasons.

The writing on the Mighty Ducks: Game Changers is actually pretty good. They fully go through the recovery of "Gordon Bombay" and they do a good job telling the story. Not sure they will get a second season but getting one season is pretty amazing.

@@mikaelowe8430 I wrote that before the renewal - and of course Emilio Estevez refusing to get vaccinated, so he was cut from the cast. Yes, there are 9 episodes now but don't tell me it is like the old series - it is not. They are trying very hard to make it work with Lauren Graham and Josh Duhamel - maybe it will, maybe it won't. As it stands right now Big Shot got season 2 and it may be done. Same may go for The Orville after three seasons.

I feel like Charlie Conway needs to come back and become the coach while Gordon Bombay becomes his mentor again (kind of like yan(?)) bc through his whole character arch, Charlie was known not to be the best player but with the most heart and then at the second or third movie, Bombay told him that he has coaching skills

That's what makes me suspect that there will be a season 2. it could be possible that the new guys lose the first time and they continue the series into a season 2 where they do win and that will be the end.
