@@SerontTcgYeah Zen with purely Tiger based cards is just too inconsistent. You still want to run the generic combo lines but it makes the hands clunky and mediocre. The tiger strategy as a whole still feels underdeveloped.

I love that the Guardian was not affected but They will get the support in the upcoming products as per LSS

Betsy is basically unplayable, Bravo is lost at the bottom of the tierlist, and only Victor really shine. Although he's got a tough time against Enigma, Nuu, wizards (most notably Kano), and runeblades (especially the otk variants).
Seems fair to me that they print some amount of support for guardians and warriors since they too miss some good tools to compete nowadays.

May want to change the color for Ed and Taylor on the names and Twitter handle. Colors pop for Josh, Nathan, and Will on mobile but can’t see very well for the rest

I loved using creepers and casting chains of Eminence on a descendant gust wave turn cuz I know that bonds is next. It's always next

Olympia's specialization Visit the Anvil (blue block 3) is very much still playable... compared to Kassai's specialization Raise an Army (yellow block 3) which is mostly late-game and quite situational... couple that with the excessively fast meta, and you see that it's much more impactful for one to lose a gold pay off than the other in regards to the Cash In ban.

Yea the new Kassai having this very situational payoff for gold and not having any copper generation support in heavy hitters to help solidify her identity with 'Blood on her hands' really confused me. Cash in was definitely her big power card similar to Art of War as having big Blood on her hands' turns are pretty inconsistent.
I think they dropped the ball and thought raise an army would be alot stronger than it actually is. Kassai is definitely in a rough spot rn.

I’ve been playing a lot of Kassai since Heavy Hitter’s release and I don’t think she actually cares very much. Don’t get me wrong, losing Cash In still lowers the possibility of some silly power turns with like sword blade runner, into hit and run sword, into Nourishing. But every gold still represents two free resources and an extra card you get access to during the turn. If i’m being honest in my list I only play Cash In for specific matchups and I just grind out the rest. Enigma is still an auto loss even if you tech for the matchup though and the aggro decks being weaker means Enigma gets stronger. I think Kassai will be fine if Enigma doesn’t end up meta, but if she does I’d still steer clear for serious events

I have a deja vu feeling. I remember some years ago WOTC had the same policy in MtG, banning cards left and right, in the hope of making magic better. In the end, what happened was that standard format died, the competitive scene was destroyed, and many competitive players (including me) left the game for good. Bryan Gotlieb should know what I'm talking about.
Oh, and btw, Ian Duke used to write some nice articles explaining the reason behind bannings.

I like to think that I joke around that skeleta did nothing wrong but I absolutely know why it was banned and being a visceri main and pretty much only player I didn't disagree with it or get angry at it when they made it. I understood it

Well since I exclusively run Crown of Dominion/ Cash In lists on multiple heroes, I guess I need to start over....fun.
I find value math FAB unappealing so this is disheartening. I know I am speaking to the wrong crowd on this channel but hatchets math, Guardian hammer bonking and blocking, 3 for 7s, and cheerios go-again are not interesting or dynamic play experiences for either side of the table.
If the game is reduced to that, then what attracts players to this game?
They targeted the entire combo archetype card base and said you are welcome for leaving out some pet cards along with a few scraps for turtle builds...

    • @Steamedhams578
      @Steamedhams578 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

Well what should attract people is successfully navigating difficult attacks like that guardian stuff and saving their d reacts or vice versa, reading whether the opponent is able to combat those strong turns. Or in cases where the math is pointing you towards two different decisions and it's up to you which one to make.
The pure combo stuff literally took that aspect away. And gave no agency to the other player. It's not like drawing cards is the only way to make good combo archetypes either. What is appealing to new players about Kano killing you turn 3 without any interaction? The could easily replace these draw cards with more situational and restricted power cards that are more thematic to specific classes. This is a preemptive ban so we don't get to see what would've happened but according to them cards like cash in would've made the game less interactive in the future. As they are the ones actually designing the future sets I think we have to wait and see.
