    This video is highly under appreciated.
    The explanation was too obvious and easily absorbed by the brain, in addition to the slick and tidy animation.
    Really useful information, keep up the good work!

    I really like the way this video is presented, but there are two points that need correcting.
    1. A queen bee will lay 1,500 to 2,000 eggs per DAY, not per season.
    2. "A fertilized egg will become a female worker bee if fed worker jelly." This is technically correct, however, its a bit more complicated than that. Worker jelly is simply royal jelly that has been mixed with various plant enzymes from the gathered pollen in the hive.
    A queen bee is developed when a fertilized egg is fed pure royal jelly with no plant enzymes present. It is the lack of those enzymes that allows a queen bees reproductive system to fully mature.

      yep they make special pickled pollen to make workers, worker is special, not queen, there's nothing special in nature to be reproductive, but to be worker? that is indeed specialization uncommon across species on earth.

    The size of the cell that the egg is layer in determines if a drone is born. Drone cells are larger and doesn’t push on the side of the Queen stopping the release of sperm to that egg.

    The closing statement is not true: " and the rests filled with mostly blood vessels". There are no blood vessels in insects. It's only one. The last slide showed three systems. Nervous, Digestive, and circulatory systems. The last is the one that all "blood" go through, entering from back to front and it is the only "blood vessel" present. So there are no blood vessels filling the rest of the body. What is really missing from this slide is the respiratory system that is really filled the rest of the body because it has branches to reach all internal body parts and tissues for gas exchange.

    This is well explained and thank you so much!. But am having a little bit of a confusion about this egg being a male or a female bee. According to their reproduction if the egg is unfertilized and haploid which means it has only a set of chromosomes of the queen; a female, how can a male bee be produced from that egg?
    Please correct me if I’m asking something with incorrect knowledge about them and if someone know the answer to this please explain it❤

    Are the queen bee's eggs (prior to insemination or parthenogenesis) haploid or diploid cells?

    • @dikshaa7401
      @dikshaa7401 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      It's diploid!

    • @koreyayres4492
      @koreyayres4492 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Before being fertilized all of the queen's eggs are haploid because they have not yet received a sperm cell. After being fertilized they are diploid because they now have two sets of genetic information.

    How are different kinds of bees created? Queen bees have a specialized reproductive system Which lets them make Some choices In the sort of eggs that are laid Diploid or haploid. but some final choices are Also made by the worker bees who feed the emerging larvae worker jelly or queen jelly On a sunny day Drones from various Hives will gather and hover Around a specific location About 60 to 70 ft high in the sky The queen will arrive And mate with 15 to 25 Different drones The goal of so much interaction Is to minimize the amount of Mates from her own hive. Hopefully, 14 or 15 Mates Will be from the other hives another goal of this mating session is to gather a large quantity of sperm. Queen bees have a spermatheca on their side where they store thousands of sperms for later use. She will go on to lay about 2000 eggs in spring and summer. The queen decides whether or not to release sperm from the spermatheca organ or she releases an uside? from her own ovaries. İn honeybees’ sex is determined by the fertilization or the non-fertilization of eggs rather than the presence of sex chromosomes. İf no sperm is released the unfertilized egg will become a male or drone this is called a haploid egg because it only has one set of chromosomes. if sperm is introduced the fertilized egg will become a female this is a diploid egg because it has two sets of chromosomes. A diploid egg can go on to become either a worker bee or a queen bee depending on what it is fed. A queen doesn’t feed her own offspring she just lays eggs workers handle all the feeding in the hive including feeding the queen. each worker bee has glands? in their head which can produce two kinds of creamy white food or “jelly” “worker jelly” will turn diploid egg larvae into a worker bee while the thicker and denser “queen” jelly which is rich in sugar will turn those same larvae into a queen bee queen larvae will consume 15 to 20 times more jelly than the other larvae. The worker bee makes this decision to create queens when their hives have too many workers and they need to swarm? to a new hive with the old queen. it takes about 21 days for an egg to grow into a full bee the egg will hatch? about3 days after being laid at this point the outer layer basically melts off and becomes food for five days the emerging larvae will grow and feed workers will check the larvae every 15 minutes to see if they need more food the larvae tends to eat in spurts so the worker will produce some excessive jelly directly onto their head close to their mouth then the chamber will be kept and the larvae becomes a poupey? for the remaining 13 days. Eggs are laid in the center of the chamber and point straight out away from the chamber floor. The larvae’s digestive system is simpler than the final bee. Basically consisting of just a mouth digestive track7stomach and rectum. Two small structures in the head the Corpa Allata acts as a primitive? brain receiving impulses from the receptors along the stretched portions of the gut and respond by sending out the juvenile hormones into the bloodstream which will cause growth. Queen’s specific hormones may also be released in developing queen larvae. İn a fully developed bee the internal organs will look more like this with a nervous system running along the bottom a more complicated digestive system directly above and the rest filled mostly with blood vessels.
    Tought some people might need it.
