    Simple yet straight forward to the points that we all wanted to know. As much as I searched on the web, I have never found even a single web site which comprehensively covers this much info with easy step-by-step process. Great work, and appreciate your effort to make this video clip available to hams with Yaesu rigs. 73!

      Thank you for your kind words! I am glad it helped. The Yaesu radio is quite versatile on all digital voice networks (minus DStar) with pi-star.

    A very helpful video thank you. I have used ysf for a while but have never tried crosslinking.

      I am glad you enjoyed it. By far the best addition to crossmoding is access to DMR. Plenty of QSO's to be had there!

      Thank you for your comment. The YSF radio has the most available crossmode options on hotspots. You can hit YSF, DMR, NXDN, and P25 networks with one radio and one pi-star hotspot!

      @@k9wlwradio309 Hi Again! I'm having a small problem...All greek TalkGroups have names with Greek letters register e.g TG 202, TG 2021 etc. so there is no way to search their titles on the radio because it doesn't support greek letters which is reasonable. I can connect directly to a TG entering the ID number for example for TG 202 I enter ID #00202. It enters the TalkGroup no problem there but the screen goes direclty back to the 1rst screen (where the TalkGroup you are connected is shown at the buttom of the screen or when you are disconected is flashes TG number-name) Is there any way to have the ability to store the TG from that screen or any other way to store the TG?? Thanks and 73'

    Great info! Thx. Suggest you never shoot a vertical (portrait) video. Always shoot landscape. Difficult to see the whole picture with such a narrow view.

      Point well taken! I am terrible at filming and editing. I sure could use a mounted camera and some editing skills. I actually stumble into this information by trial and error. I see some possibilities and very little or no information online about, and say, "Will this work? Let's try it out and see what happens." Clearly the Yaesu C4FM radio can do the most with a Pi-star hotspot. Yaesu doesn't want you to know that because they want to steer you to their proprietary Wires-X network. The Pi-star people are all about DMR and almost treat DStar and C4FM as an afterthought. I find it amazing that an under $200 FT-70D and a garden variety Pi-star hotspot can do so much!

    FT70DR just arrived going to try this and see if it is possible with that radio. I'll report back soon!

      I believe it should work. For some reason, you have to go to a menu option to activate the digital VW mode with that radio. If you skip that menu option. It will only switch between DN and FM modes. Make sure to look for that menu option in the manual. Once you turn it on, the radio will always let you switch between, DN, VW, and FM modes. It is a set one time and forget setting. The VW mode is required to talk in VW mode. VW mode is required to talk on the P25 Reflectors. DN is required to talk on DMR, and NXDN worlds. YSF and FCS Reflectors work with both digital modes, however almost everyone their uses DN mode so that the people there crossmoding from DMR can hear you on their DMR radios.

      @@k9wlwradio309 This for sure works with the FT70 DR/DE. It can be finicky that's for sure. I'm completely new to Fusion so I will learn from experience. The only true issue I have found so far is my local club has a DMR talkgroup SPARK Local 312594 on BM. It appears as if the FT70 will not allow you to manually enter a 6 digit talkgroup. So when I enter 312594 the cursor cuts off the 3 and tries to connect to 12594. I haven't hooked this thing up to a computer yet but I'm sure there is a way to be able to either trick it with an exploit or program it into C1-C5 on the software.

      @k9wlwradio309  ปีที่แล้ว

      That 6 digit trick is above my pay grade. It would be easy to do crossmoding with an Openspot because it has a dashboard option of keying up talkgroups with no digit limitations. If you can crack it with a pi, count me as super impressed.

    Thank you for these videos! I think it is finally starting to sink in some. Question - is there a way to connect to a Wires-X node using this radio, or do you have to use the SCU-19 cable and do it that way? 73, K8JLW

    • @k9wlwradio309
      @k9wlwradio309  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Wires-X is a totally different network than any of the hotspot networks. Wires-X network is owned and Operated by Yaesu and requires their extra equipment to access. Thank you for watching!

    How do you figure out your frequency for your pi star.

    • @k9wlwradio309
      @k9wlwradio309  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I choose a freqbetween 433 and 435 Mhz. I then tune the radio to that frequency into a handheld in FM mode and monitore that frequency in FM mode to make sure I have no in house interference on that frequency by walking about the house. If it is a clean frequency I use it. If there is any noise I usually click up or down 12.5 Khz and try it again.
