I know this isn't new but I do appreciate that Brian points out subtle interactions and options when relevant, and helps other players parse his board state. No need to try to win because someone overlooked something, Commander gets complicated!
Top3 reasons why I cant watch StarCityGames anymore I used to enjoy their videos but one of the dude simply brings decks that are way too overpowered compared to the rest and never points out funny interactions between cards when others have them Like, they won't get an extra on their paycheck for winning, the main idea of the channel is to bring some funny decks, crrative commanders and new interactions to the fans yet some of their games are just too serious and only Stephen and their rookie can get us through it cause their mood won't take a hit from any bs that happens
I prefer everyone get all their triggers and benefits, so I'm all in on "hey did you get your token/get your counter/draw your card/you can kill my commander for 2 btw/etc". My friends appreciated the honesty. Then I built my Yawgmoth deck and now I'm the villain. I either a) play it sparingly, b) rework it to a different black commander, or c) make it worse so I can 3v1. I may choose c
22:45 Fun fact - since Diregraf Colossus has a replacement effect, it looks before everything enters the battlefield, not after. Since the Colossus (and Josu Vess) are in the graveyard at that point before they enter, they'll actually count for the Colossus' effect, so it would enter with at least two counters. From Gatherer: If Diregraf Colossus enters the battlefield from your graveyard, its first ability will count itself among the Zombie cards in your graveyard. Similarly, if it enters the battlefield at the same time as another Zombie card enters the battlefield from your graveyard, the ability will count that other Zombie.
Cool game honestly. Voxy and Amy are always a delight to watch. I first saw them on TCC’s Shuffle Up and Play, and was impressed with how chill they were. They know how to have a good time and not take the game too seriously. I love the EDH channels where it is all chill and casual and not everyone trying to one up each other at every turn.
... clicked on this game instantly when I saw it. It's always SO fun to watch Voxy or Amazonian play commander so both on commander at home? hell yeah.
I thought that the bark during Brian's intro was a bleep. 😆 I was at CommandFest Orlando when the Sigarda got signed by Howard Lyon! It's so beautiful. ❤️ Edit: I made that Sol Ring that Voxy played! It's awesome to see it played in a game. 😁
Voxy and Amy might be two of the MTG people i love the most next to the prof :) Voxys positiv energy is just unbeaten, whenever i feel sad or down i watch her videos and i am instantly happier
I love everyone here. All amazing, all a blast to watch. Somehow though, Amy is always the most energetic and charismatic person in whatever room she's in. She's the best!
Love watching you all have fun, and had a great time at MagicCon Chicago over the weekend. Thank you to Olivia and. Voxy for signing my two Alela’s! It was awesome meeting you two and seeing everyone else on stage throughout the weekend!
What a fun episode with great guests. Also, if Brian/Olivia happen to read this, please have Brian play his Kibo, Uktabi Prince deck in the future - it looks like a lot of fun to build, and I love drawing inspiration for deck building from your guys' decklists!
This has became my go to commander show to watch. The energy is amazing just always feels like it truly is friends getting together and just having a game of magic. Not to mention that dang theme song gets stuck in my head all day!
I honestly think this is the best commander show on TH-cam now you guys have helped me get through some tough times recently and I just want to Say thank you for the laughs and keep up all the great content honestly some of the best days of the week comes when y’all upload content.
Longer post! Sorry! I just want to say how much I have grown to love this channel ❤️ I have watched SO MUCH in the last couple days 😂 The personality of each and every person that comes on and every deck that's played really shines through! And the table talk that happens in between plays really does make this feel like it's just commander at home 😊 I do have to give a special nod to the sound production because I've noticed that the softness of whispers are brought up and the explosiveness of exciting plays and laughter are compressed nicely and it all just sounds so good to listen to! Y'all really make me want to start my redemption arc so I can start my personal build-back-better plan, get invited on, and show off my dumb fun builds 😂
I mean, if cards that mill don’t have “when it moves from library to graveyard” on them but you’re supposed to assume, it makes sense to assume “when it moves from library to graveyard” is supposed to be assumed as mill. Neither is directly explained on the card, you’re just supposed to know via precedent, it seems to match the established criteria pretty exactly unless there’s a card saying that doesn’t count as mill you could reference? Like this seems like saying something doesn’t count as going to the graveyard when it dies because the card doesn’t specifically have text saying graveyard on it, semantics not reflected by actual gameplay, do you have anything more concrete on how this is ruled because that seems really flimsy to me
When this popped up on my feed I said “holy shit” out loud, which genuinely surprised me because I don’t usually do that but I was just very excited for this episode
Just this morning, i was sad i had finished all the episodes, then got blessed with my four favorite people to see play magic ☆ I've learned so much from y'all, thank you ♡
It was great meeting you again brian kibler and to sign my badge and amazonian at magiccon chicago.. my friend played with olivia amd had an amazing time and im jealous.. hopefully in the future we can jam some games
What an interesting way for the game to end. I've never actually seen a situation like that come up wild that in 14 years I've never seen that happen. Nice game you guys!
@17:10 So this is a weird consequence of mill being made into a keyword action, but Amazonian shouldn't actually get any Horrors from Professor Onyx because Zellix only cares if the cards were specifically milled, not if the cards were put into the graveyard from the library.
@@PokemanSuper64 it doesn't impact the game much, and all of the players agreed to the interpretation, so while it might not be in accordance with the rules, it's fine. Far fewer rules misinterpretations here than your average game at the LGS.
Great game and episode guys! Always love the banter between Amy and Voxy, and then you two getting into too making it all the better hehe 😂❤ Vicious victory Brian, kudos!!
Thank you for another fantastic episode you two are easily now my favorite game play channel. I would like to suggest a future guest for the show. If you could kidnap Larry from I Hate Your Deck that would be awesome, oh and Ladee Danger for sure would be a blast to see.
Voxy and Amazonian are amazing guests!! Great energy around the entire table. My sister wanted to build Agatha, and after watching Brian play with her a couple times she’s DYING to build him
I feel like everyone in this episode would make the coolest of friends. Lol. Voxy's energy is always contagious, Olivia and Brian are always so funny and incredible, and Amy just feels like a lil sister who is so much fun to be around. Lmao.
My new favorite episode! And I'm not just saying that cause voxys in it... she's only like 80-90% of the reason 😂😂 great video as always you guys! Love the content and vibes and gameplay and everything about the channel! Keep it up and keep em comin! ❤❤
2:50 Olivia, I feel your pain SO HARD right there. I'm in the same boat as the others, didn't get it, but super used to my jokes and references going over everyone elses' head.

Dang didn't know Brian lived in NH. I grew up in NH the next town over in Danville. If he ever comes back to NH I'd love to get a game in. Love watching your content much love from NH. Your videos are perfectly chill for me to feed and put my baby to sleep without random loud sounds to startle my little baby boy awake. Anyway I always feel like everyone dogpiles Brian if I ever play with you I'm your secret ally bro ;) .
I love the "ghost turn" at the end. I had no idea that the game continues through the dead players turn! I always thought that the turn ended instantly upon player death, but NOPE! The turn continues without an active player! Super interesting!
This is really neat. I have a "Liliana, Heretical Healer" deck that's just "themed" for having nearly every card that mentions or involves Liliana, including the demons she made pacts with. It's fun, but not always powerful. This was an amazing showing for her deck! Looked like a fun game with lots of normal "Kibler board-state" stress.
Okay, what I learned today is all of Brian's decks that have red & green in them are cracked AF. lol Agatha, Dinos, Dragons, man... But it's fun seeing interesting interactions with certain cards. I'd be interested in seeing his take on a colorless deck though! Don't believe I've seen him play one yet, or at least in a very long time.
Love Kibler's decks. He is showing commander players how to have great decks with high power value plays with out comboing or stacking opponents. Thats how a real pro plays.
23:40 I feel voxy on a spiritual level. Trying to joke about childhood trauma and having the group react not with the desired laughter but distress and sympathy is so mortifying.
When Olivia was popping off I was like "damn, they always focus Brian, even when he's getting behind" AND THEN he rebuilt and I remembered why they always focus Brian
4:08 Judge here, Brian is right, this is what proxies are according to the rules, though there are some very tight circumstances where they are allowed that mostly don't ever happen.
Incorrect. The back face gets the mana value from the front face, but not the mana cost. So while the back side will have a nonzero mana value, it won't contribute to devotion. 712.8e While a transforming double-faced permanent has its back face up, it has only the characteristics of its back face. *However, its mana value is calculated using the mana cost of its front face.* If a permanent is copying the back face of a transforming double-faced permanent (even if the object representing that copy is itself a double-faced permanent), the mana value of that permanent is 0. See rule 202.3b. So only its mana value is derived from the mana cost on the front face. It doesn't get the mana cost as well, so the back face does not contribute to devotion.
44:48 I know the primary argument against spindown is that they're less likely to have been properly manufactured to be balanced and therefore have a bias, which might be true. But MY take was always that it is likely way easier to cheat with a spindown dice than a normal one. I don't think the issue's proper randomness, its human awareness. If I held a spindown d20 and tried lightly roll so that it favors one of the sides, because they're all one oneside, the odds are pretty high I'll roll a favorable outcome. Meanwhile, if I did the same with a regular d20, trying to cheat roll a nat 20 in this way could very well get you an 8 or a 2, even if you have a lot of control. tl;dr I think the issue isn't random distribution but rather that a lack of random distribution makes it exceptionally easier to cheat.
I just watched Brian's pro tour win. Holy shit. I barely recognized him. Watching him play is a treat. Then and now. Also, Amy is fuckin BANGIN'. That is all.

Totally agree!
One of the main reasons why I enjoy this channel more than other commander channels. Brian is a fair player.
Top3 reasons why I cant watch StarCityGames anymore
I used to enjoy their videos but one of the dude simply brings decks that are way too overpowered compared to the rest and never points out funny interactions between cards when others have them

Thats definitely me in my playgroup because they're all relatively newer players, I'll just ask "Would you like some backseat gaming advice?" lol
I prefer everyone get all their triggers and benefits, so I'm all in on "hey did you get your token/get your counter/draw your card/you can kill my commander for 2 btw/etc". Our pleasure!
Now I really want to see your "really bad" Szadek deck
You're awesome Amy, love seeing you play. Great deck sleeves btw!

Commander at Home - Family Edition!
YES to this.
Lol. Wow
But they have Kyle hill instead of Brian kibler
@mistermaky01 that's the uncle.
Comander at Home: *Shows a thumbnail with literaly any guest*

Brian’s “It was Agatha all along” joke did not go unnoticed. Freaking hilarious
I love how Brian petting the cute puppers keeps him from shuffling his hand over and over during everyone elses turn.
Out of all the gameplay shows on TH-cam, this looks like the most chill table to sit at! You have truly captured the atmosphere ❤

The lesson of Commander at Home: never don't kill Brian first.
Got to kill Brian as a pregame action.
@jeffreysmall1087 some combos shouldn't be allowed to go off.
'Oh yes it's ladies night...'
And Kiblers there too
That’s Kyle Hill

17:00 Looking at top of library and moving to graveyard doesnt count as mill. Mill has to be explicitly called out to count as mill

35:46 Brian’s actually right here. The current rule is that transformed DFCs also have the same mana cost, not just mana value, of the front face.
Incorrect. The back face gets the mana value from the front face, but not the mana cost. So while the back side will have a nonzero mana value, it won't contribute to devotion.
