Love the EDHijinks at Home vids. Guessing that they are harder to organise than the regular (people appearing remotely) vids, but they are always a treat.
Prof, you might want read your Puresteal paladin, it would explain that you may draw a card whenever you cast an aura or equipment. It hurt me to the core for every draw you missed that game, all of them
Aimes is me every time I get to play, because I only get an opportunity about once a month. So it's alotpf my friends reminding me of optimal plays. Well done all. Also, lot a quacks this episode. My wife kept looking at me funny, lol, as I was watching it near her.
"What are we supposed to do with new players? Help them." Exactly. I've taught a number of others how to play the game because I don't expect everyone to know everything and just want a fun game. I still recall a game I had with some randoms online where someone wasn't sure how certain things interacted and the other 3 of us helped them understand how it all worked, how it could be further improved, and what would immediately make it stop working. Took us like 30 extra minutes but none of us seemed to mind, the person understood it in the end, thanked us, and then lost gracefully in 2nd place (I was out first sadly).
I love when Aims discovers something new with Magic. It's something that I'm losing with all the years I've played, the new player's capacity for wonder.
Mono green Omnath was my first ever commander deck (And I still use it.), seeing it here and hearing that it was one of the Prof's first makes me happy.
Just a small miss play but Sword of Feast and Famine is not a target player effect. The player that was dealt damage discards the card. Also I believe Kogla and Yidaro’s discard effect is an ability so you wouldn’t draw a card with Up the Beanstalk out.
24:14 Prof says "target player discards a card" I believe he is talking about the damage trigger of Sword of Feast and Famine, in which case, the player he dealt damage to must discard the card, not a player of his choice. (which doesn't ACTUALLY make a difference to the game in the end - just thought I'd point it out) Awesome ep as always, loved it ❤
I love that the professor has mentioned Blantons at enough shows I wish they would sponsor him. If Prof you read any of these comments, Woodenville is a much more brilliant bourbon, especially the port cask finish. I would also really recommend angle’s envy another amazing bourbon

I played the Merfolk precon yesterday and I have upgraded it only slightly and its actually really powerful. the explore mechanic is really good. fun fact about the cultivator colossus, it goes infinite with abundance... or... well, you get all your lands out of your deck so after that you draw all gas, really good.
Yes, they completely screwed her. They made her play the X hydra as well. “Let’s help the new player” except they didn’t. They actually made her do a sub optimal play.
Really cool of you guys to help out the new player, only thing I’ll say as an avid Omnath enjoyer is you should have let her keep the apex devestator in hand and just cast it from hand to continue to get value. But either way great job

Another triumphant episode! Always a joy to see the Professor, and Ames was a delight.
ALL PRAISE THE ALGORITHM
Watching The Prof’s eyes gradually disappear was great! 😂😂
Now THIS. This is what Commander is all about! How wholesome!
"If you want to drop them all and we can help order it correctly, we're happy to do so"
Olivia you're a god damn Legend!! Well you all are but how awesome.
@43:18, Olivia and Eili being too damn wholesome. Wish more of the community was like this (I was never hazed for playing Magic, by Magic players yet opponents were never this kind either)
I have never seen someone play green Omnath on one of these channels before, it's a ton of fun and my first deck too, I still have an upgraded one and play it regularly, I was very happy to see that, respect the jelly bean!
Love the EDHijinks at Home vids. Guessing that they are harder to organise than the regular (people appearing remotely) vids, but they are always a treat.
Prof, you might want read your Puresteal paladin, it would explain that you may draw a card whenever you cast an aura or equipment. It hurt me to the core for every draw you missed that game, all of them
It’s when equipments etb, but yes it was painful seeing him miss the draws
Awesome game! Great to see Aims here as well. I am a new player is great to see new players play awesome!!
Aimes is me every time I get to play, because I only get an opportunity about once a month. So it's alotpf my friends reminding me of optimal plays. Well done all. Also, lot a quacks this episode. My wife kept looking at me funny, lol, as I was watching it near her.
I loved this game! It made ma laugh audibly way too many times! 😂 my favorite game yet!
Blantons is one of my favorite bourbons.
Fun game to watch EDHijinks team!
The Professor was just bluffing about any counterspells. It was hilarious and I enjoyed this episode.
My first time viewing this channel. Great game! Love the relaxed vibe. I’ll definitely go check out Prof taking out Alias in those other ones now 😂.
That "help aims" moment was so wholesome.
"What are we supposed to do with new players? Help them."
Exactly.
This was wholesome and lovely. Thanks so much for this episode
Mono green Omnath was my first ever commander deck (And I still use it.), seeing it here and hearing that it was one of the Prof's first makes me happy.
Why can't you like someone liking your comment, seeing that notification made me grin like an idiot lol.
Just a small miss play but Sword of Feast and Famine is not a target player effect. The player that was dealt damage discards the card.
Also I believe Kogla and Yidaro’s discard effect is an ability so you wouldn’t draw a card with Up the Beanstalk out.
i love the fact that 2 creatures with vigilance get tapped to attack and no one realizes this
When Olivia offered to help with the ETB' - Love you guys
I'm developing an unhealthy attachment to this house.
24:14 Prof says "target player discards a card" I believe he is talking about the damage trigger of Sword of Feast and Famine, in which case, the player he dealt damage to must discard the card, not a player of his choice.
(which doesn't ACTUALLY make a difference to the game in the end - just thought I'd point it out)
Awesome ep as always, loved it ❤
Haha Prof’s excitement at slaps was my favorite part. Great game, good job Aims
I love that the professor has mentioned Blantons at enough shows I wish they would sponsor him. If Prof you read any of these comments, Woodenville is a much more brilliant bourbon, especially the port cask finish. I would also really recommend angle’s envy another amazing bourbon
We've all been where Aims was when we were new. Gotta love seeing players help players.
Great game !!! Embracing the whole concept of the commander.
Olivia so schleepy this episode lol. Edit - now that I finished the episode I can add that as a new MTG Commander player myself, it's heart warming to see the assistance you guys put in with new players. Eventually, I hope I get to a point where I can offer the same thing shown to me by vets I've played with. Love the channel and keep being awesome!
SO EEPY. I filmed 13 games that weekend, I was in every single game we filmed over 3 days and head was empty 😅😅😅
@@goberthicks 13 games is insane!! No wonder you were so tired! TBF my head is empty half way through game 1 soooo lol
I played the Merfolk precon yesterday and I have upgraded it only slightly and its actually really powerful. the explore mechanic is really good. fun fact about the cultivator colossus, it goes infinite with abundance... or... well, you get all your lands out of your deck so after that you draw all gas, really good.
Awesome game as always. Loved the green creature vomit that happened. The joke from Prof about temur was so hilarious.
I saw this thumbnail and said Elder Dragon Hell Yeah!
aims should keep the 4times cascade hydra in hand and play it later .. just for winning more ^^ in any other way a very wholesome episode ^^
Yes, they completely screwed her. They made her play the X hydra as well. “Let’s help the new player” except they didn’t. They actually made her do a sub optimal play.
At around the 26:20 mark didnt the professor have vigilance with his guy when aims attacked him and should have been able to block?
Really cool of you guys to help out the new player, only thing I’ll say as an avid Omnath enjoyer is you should have let her keep the apex devestator in hand and just cast it from hand to continue to get value. But either way great job
OMG Aims with the Prof?! Amazingly fun episode. Especially fun to watch as a casual MtG player.
“You don’t put Blanton’s on the floor”
Teach Prof!
is that a bottle of Blantons i see?!?
sophisticated choice for a sophisticated player
Olivia blowing that fog on Prof just to help Aims win gave me the good feels. THAT is commander.
Lol misplay creature does not tap when it has vigilance. 23:45 to 23:47
