Hey, GJ here. Loved the mantel. You did an awesome job! Just so you know they do make black CA glue as well as the clear if you ever want the same look that the epoxy gave you. Also a trick I use if I want the cracks to disappear, I mix some of the fine dust from sanding with yellow wood glue to fill the cracks. When you sand it the cracks practically disappear! Awesome addition the the other pieces you built from cedar!
