    Thank you for video my friend 👍. I'm trying to get up the courage to change my own gears to 391's. Did you use AAM?

      No i used gm 1le gears

    Thank you I appreciate it. Had you done this before, i would like to change mine myself but just worried because I have never done it before. I guess you used a pinion depth gauge, thats probably a must?

      @@jacobyj6257 It is said if you use the AAM 3.91s that they are usually a simple drop in replacement, no shim changes or anything. The AAM gears are what GM used for the 1LE's. You remember how long this took you?

      @@InFiD3ViL1 yeah its pretty much just replacing gears. It only took about 7 hours. With a press maybe 5. Iv put over 10k mines on them since and no issues

      @@jacobyj6257 could you please send me the write up you followed for your gear install? How are your gears holding up, good I hope? Any additional noise?

      RICKY GRAY no problem, and they are still hooking

    Did you use all new bearings or just for pinion? Any more noisy than stock gears?

    • @jacobyj6257
      @jacobyj6257  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Just the pinion bearing. Recommend replacing pinion seal also while your there

      Did you use rotational torque wrench on pinion nut? Sorry for all the questions? Did you reuse rear diff carrier bolts as well or buy new one's.

    i was trynna do my camaro with 3.73 but dont know how to set the shim need help

      @jacobyj6257  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I basically reused the stock shims since the 1le 3.91s were from gm. Get a dial indicator and get the lash and marking compound. If not in spec move shims or add shims til lash is in specs and gears making the right contact using the compound
