  • Last week the pool wasn't circulating properly because of a very dirty filter. This week everything seems to be flowing just fine. We've had tons of rain so I was kind of nervous about the pool but once again my worrying proved pointless.
    Pool looks magnificent;
    Free Chlorine - .6 PPM
    Total Chlorine - .6 PPM
    This is well within the proper range for low chlorine chemistry.
    PH - 7.4
    This is exactly where we want PH for chlorine function and bather comfort.
    Total Alkalinity - 60 PPM
    My PH has held at 7.4 for many weeks now, I do not want to mess with the alkalinity content and risk losing this perfect buffer.
    Calcium Hardness - 275 PPM
    Last week with the water not circulating I only got a reading of 225 PPM. When water doesn't circulate properly concentrations of certain balances can change dramatically. 275 PPM has been the calcium reading for some time now.
    Cyanuric Acid - 15 PPM
    This is enough to help protect the low level of chlorine in the pool while also allowing it to be as active as possible.
    Phosphates - 300 PPB
    This is coming down as I continue to add CV-700. Once the rainy season is over I should be able to maintain a 0 PPB Phosphate level.
    Borate - 80 PPM
    Perfect.
    I also added the monthly maintenance dose of Scale Tec. I have been using Scale Tec since December and have seen some improvement to the scale in the pool as well as a lowered calcium level. I would say it is working rather nicely.
    Until next week folks!
