  • We stumble upon a HUGE WW2 dump site with relics from the Third Reich. Time stood still at this special location. The relics are all piled up and well preserved. You don't have to dig deep here!

      I went metal detecting once in an alley way in Arizona and I found a 1942 10 pence coin from Britain and I was like huh maybe someone from America who went to Britain in that day and came back then dropped it there and it has never been found until I found it. It must've been every bit of 6 feet 8 feet deep

    You’ve got to go back to that place. Seems like it’s loaded with finds waiting to be discovered. I can’t help but wonder where some of the non-military stuff got there. Carried by a soldier, but I wonder what the circumstances were. We’ll never know. Thanks again for the great content!

    This stuff is so cool. All those years ago those poor lads out in the war carried this stuff. They drank from the bottles when they were thirsty, and reached for pins when they needed comfort, and held what they had tight. Really cool to see this stuff found before it completely decays, because every little scrap has history.

  • @AN-nt3uv
    @AN-nt3uv 3 ปีที่แล้ว +11

    Stargarder Tor of Neubrandenburg still exists and that small medal or pin shows the side of that gate facing towards the city side. Architecture is brick stone gothic type, very typical for North German Hanse trade union cities.
    I guess you know, that Mykene is not an island, but an ancient Greek city actually in Homer's Illias the opponent of Troy. Heinrich Schliemann discovered it and found the famous graves with the gold masks. About Luftwaffe and Marine (Navy) findings at the front it just shows the lack of infantery units to the end of the war. Every available soldier regardless of service branch were thrown into that useless combat.

That was a 4/5ths quart bottle of 1941 Canadian Club Limited Straight Whiskey aged 6 years. The “65” is the bottling permit number and “45” was the quantity

    14:31 Reichelbrau Kulmbach beer stein. Bavarian province of Upper Franconia, an item a long way from home.
    With such a diverse mix of items shallow ground it could be an old medical dump, uniforms that were cut off the wounded and thrown in heaps. Contents in the pockets are all that remain. Or a rear storage area for personal items from a frontline company was abandoned.
    There were instances of retreating HEER units burying their own personal trunks/baggage to retrieve later. Only after 1945 there was no chance of travelling back to these eastern areas to reclaim their possessions.

    05:52 stuff like that was not usual at the front. Maybe a soldier thought:"We already lost the war, so why not dying in a fancy outfit?". Seems like this was a last expression of desperation and hopelessness.
    On the other hand: maybe someone just wanted to get rid of that stuff. Or maybe you found the remains of the German equivalent to "Mad Jack" who once said:„Any officer who goes into action without his sword is improperly dressed“. He is a legend.
    We will never know for sure.

    My question is, do you know any places like this in the territory of poland. If you see this comment and know any spots to go metal detecting, please respond. It would mean a lot.
