Thanks for this comparison video! I have a Crew myself. It was been great for passengers on road trips / the dog to sprawl out. We are working towards a conversion which includes a kitchen, 2 seater passenger seat, and more storage. Looking forward to seeing what you guys make of the crew van!
Which swivels do you not like and why? Are they noisy/wobbly? Also. Maybe unrelated but does a cabbunk fit without moving the tables you put in? Have a build date and vin on our crew and a cabbunk sitting in our garage lol.
I have a crew van and I removed all the factory plastics, headliners, and airbags. I was able to find a dongle/chip to plug into the airbag connection to keep any error codes from appearing on the dash. I used the AVC Rig wall and floor kit without any issues-though I still don't have a solution for the blob areas as the cargo blobs don't fit in the crew. All-in-all, I'm very happy that I removed the headliner and airbags, that being said, I won't have any passengers in the rear.
I’ve definitely seen this solution. Doesn’t this mean you no longer have drivers side airbags either? At the drivers cabin? Why wouldn’t you just start with a cargo?
@@AVCRIG I have airbags for the driver and passenger, but the airbags behind both front seats are gone-which again, aren't an issue because I'm not hauling extra humans. :) If I would have known better, I probably would have done that. However I bought the van when there wasn't much out there, so I got what was available. I'm certainly not disappointed, but there have been a few additional challenges for sure. But that's all part of the adventure! ALL of your videos have been a lifesaver for me…I've learned so much! And your products are top-notch. A close friend is shopping for a van now, and I'm very much looking forward to helping him build it out-it's surprisingly addictive!
Crew is basically the front half of the passenger to the C pillar. The Passenger just has airbags all the way back. It's harder to build into a camper too.
@AVC Rig Could the driver side passenger lower plastic be removed, a sink/refer/counter added, and removable seating added between the counter and sliding door?
You could definitely do something counter height there. And to do it I would pull those lower plastics. A removable seat is easy too, but nothing I know of that clips into the Ford brackets on just the passenger side. Try hitting up JMG they make some stuff that swaps out in the brackets.

How much space is left behind the 2nd row of seats to the rear doors in a the shorter transit?
Is there a difference in a crew and passenger van. Ford still makes the passenger wagon.
