I always love learning about an IP through character biographies. It gets me possible attachments towards characters' designs, personalities and stories (narrative and personal). Edit: I do hope we see some Maximum Impact characters.
I've always assumed the name Ash is short for Ashley which is both a male and female first name (on point for such a character). I know this because I used to know a guy with that name and have met gals with that name. Surprised to hear that some people think its dumb when it's probably the result of them not knowing it's a variant name. Interesting the name Ashley is an old Anglo-Saxon name with its etymology roughly meaning ash tree dweller. The Anglo-Saxon Futhorc (the Germanic writing letters/runes) all have things ascribed to those letters/runes (unlike the alphabet), so the æ equivalent is represented with the ash-tree. This background into words does give us an idea where Ash's ancestral ties are from which is likely modern day Northern France bordering on Belgium as the Anglo and Saxon tribes are located around there. With Ash being French means he more likely comes from a family of Germanic Franks from the Francia Empire who used the Elder Futhark letter/runic system that isn't quite the same as the Anglo-Saxon Futhorc, but these clans would have overlapped with one another with both trade and war. It's interesting how you can narrow down someone's mysterious origins just by studying the etymology of names.
