Basically the whole KoF 2003 was a wtf moment. Seeing Chizuru and her twin, fighting an evil Kyo reflection, fighting Rugal's son, Ash stealing people's powers.
Each saga has its own story and events so I m not surprised , by the way I know the whole story of KOF from 1800 years ago Yasanaki and Kusanagi vs Orochi and sealing him with their weapons magmata and Kusanagi Sword and Yata if Kagura before Yasanaki fall into Orochi s influence and make a pact with him to when Elizabeth finally found Ash in KOF 14 after Verse was defeated ! So 2003 was like any canon episode of KOFs !
@@michaelwhitmire9015 No. Not like that. I mean mass wise. Evil Ryu is just Ryu turned, well? Evil. Clones are different. The real Kyo can keep his head intact while the evil ones that look like him start shit. Ryu is his own conflict. Big difference. Iori's Orochi form is more close to the Evil Ryu comparison.
@@bananaemon2339 I get what you mean. But I mean in game. Ryu is a bit flat as a personality in game. Clones could introduce us to something wild. Even SNK was aware of this in a rather odd way. If you play crossover games where SNK is the creative runner with Capcom at the rival end; you'll find that the personality of certain Capcom characters (especially Ryu) seem a bit jazzed. Even his win quotes are laughable.
K9999 all by himself is a wtf to me (in a good way), but Ash stealing Iori's flames had me legit worried. Given the history of the series and how lots of things do stick, that was cause for concern to me.
@Reyan Mahir actually, Iori despises violence.. he avoids fighting and he loves feeding stray cats. the riot blood form of him is not his choice at all
Bit of trivia, the Yagami Team is not only a reference to the band, the Human League ("Don't You Want Me Baby," "Fascination"), but they also represent the BDSM sub-culture. Iori represents bondage and domination: wears bondage pants (popular in the punk scene in the late 70's - early 80's; can see Casey Affleck's character wearing them in "200 Cigarettes") and in some of his moves (Scum Gale, 9 Wine Goblets super holding the opponent in place, and others). Mature represents sadism: she likes to inflict pain and suffering. In her original ('96) walk cycle, she'd run her hands over herself and her original taunt was an orgasmic moan, as her slash attacks leaving blood all over the place, while asking the opponent if what she's doing to them feels good. Vice represents masochism: she enjoys pain. This shows through in her charging in Extra mode and some of her win poses (a notable one in '98 where she drops to her knees and yells [translation] "Hurry up and kill me!" and in XIV where she wants Choi to slash her with his claws). SNK in the 90's was all about the referential deep cuts, particularly when it came to music. In addition to the aforementioned Human League reference in their appearance, Vice and Mature's moves are all names of Death / Black Metal bands.
Not gonna lie people sometimes forget why iori can use crimson flames because of his sacred shard definitely a surprise in 96 but also shows his sacred original flames will never be tainted by orochi’s curse.

My biggest WTF moment is how much of a prodigy I am at playing Andy We all have that one character in KOF we're good at,the one we understand how his moveset works at a deeper level, the one we leave for last in our team orders, and usually the one that we use to beat the bosses and while that character for me is Ralf who in itself is a WTF moment because I've honestly never picked Ralf in these last 5-6 years I've spent playing KOF, for some god forsaken reason when the game pushed Andy onto me for taking too long in choosing characters I kicked all sorts of ass, and see the thing is if Ralf is a character I never really paid much attention to, Andy is a character that I care so little about that I sometimes forget he exists and yet for some reason when I picked him I was just good at him, no rhyme or reason I just knew how to play him I should probably use him more in my teams XD
Look up king of fighters all stars ad and it’ll show some weird mafia boss type of mobile ad. He it shows kula, Mai, and blue Mary getting slapped in the ass by terry. It’s very raunchy.
I'm exploring 3D printing these days. This final pic of Orochi Leona (the one next to Iori at 14:15) really makes me wish I had 3D design skills and painting skills.
Another WTF moment was Kasumi and Shingo special intro in KOF 1999(Translate to Engligh from the quote) Shingo: "Let's review, let's review..." Kasumi: "Don't you look at your notebook!" Shingo: Oh my god!
3:07 if you see the original stage of Omega Rugal in kof98, you can see the beheaded body of Goenitz. Subsequently, that motivated a user in mugen to dedicate himself to making an edit of Goenitz called "CORPSE".
In regards Vice (both of them are my favs like for 17 years) shes biting chewing, then vomiting in the last moments you can see her wiping mouth after vomiting- technically it's not cannibal. Just a form of severe sadistic attack XD especial if it's against dickheaded boring most popular teams member - which revolts her a bit extra XD
The banning of crazy Iori and Leona rule also applies among Chinese players. KOF97 was and might still be the MOST popular fighting game among Chinese players.
I remember back in the KOF 97 arcades, if your opponent chose Orochi Iori, YOU choose Orochi Iori. It would be your only chance to win. I could get lucky and beat Orochi Leona with Robert, but no one stood a chance against Orochi Iori except using him yourself too.
Mukai's death parallels the similarities and power gap between Ash and Saiki: Ash collected two Sacred Treasures, but Saiki collected the powers of Mukai and Magaki. Saiki throwing darkness-infused rocks and transforming show he did get their powers.
I really enjoyed this list shoryugame. I lot of WTF moments in this game, some I didn’t even heard of. Btw, are you saying we should like Magaki or not? XD
That Omega Rugal thing… I imagined his ship sank into the ocean and he was isolated there. So he used the tech in the ship to convert the statues of his opponents into sustenance. In order to keep going and we, the player, interrupted him.
You are not talking about the moment after where he mentioned that Kign was pregnant, a moment in character that was never mentioned or being continued ever since then? xD
Leona saluting Chang still puzzles me to this day, I can't even come up with any suppositions, except that the it's probably a glitch, can anyone tell me what they think?
Iori killing Vice and Mature should have been in the main list, not just an honorable mention. It's pretty much the first time in the series any non-boss characters actually died. But what REALLY should have made the list is them just... coming back in XIII and XIV. Because they can do that for some reason, and it's never mentioned before or really talked about after. They can just reincarnate as living ghosts whenever they feel like it, something the other Hakkeshu's have to wait for in order to reincarnate. Oh yeah, and Ash stealing Chizuru and Iori's powers and then the reveal in XIII that he was actually good all along. That one got under people's skin really good and then made them actually sympathise with Ash right at the very end.
my favorite moment is when Leona salutes Chang in 98 and Chang salute back in XIV , but I would like to assume that Chang was probably a former soldier during his youth before to be the big criminal with jail ball , I see very well Smart Chang with a military outfit
So we aren’t gonna talk about why Shermie Slapped Brian across the face then went back to where she stood.

Look up king of fighters all stars ad and it’ll show some weird mafia boss type of mobile ad. He it shows kula, Mai, and blue Mary getting slapped in the ass by terry. It’s very raunchy.

It is rare to see videos that speak about KOF in English, most of them are Latino fans who like KOF in the American continent.
Kof is actually pretty popular here in Brazil
@@Fpwc2 Si lo se, yo soy vecino tuyo (ecuador) y aca tambien es popular KOF.
@@Fpwc2 Si lo se, yo soy vecino tuyo (ecuador) y aca tambien es popular KOF.
I'm exploring 3D printing these days. This final pic of Orochi Leona (the one next to Iori at 14:15) really makes me wish I had 3D design skills and painting skills.
Shermie slapping Brian freaking killed me 🤣
Another WTF moment was Kasumi and Shingo special intro in KOF 1999(Translate to Engligh from the quote)
Shingo: "Let's review, let's review..."
Kasumi: "Don't you look at your notebook!"
Shingo: Oh my god!
Rugal's 98 stage is underwater because the stage is the same room as rugal's 94 stage but sunked after rugal's bomb exploded
To this day it is still Chris being Orochi in KOF '97.
Looking forward to more KoF-related content.
I guess Orochi Leona & Iori is banned in the tourneys in the past.
A big WTF moment was in KoF 94: a Guile statue next to Rugal.
Top Non playble character in KOF games and SNK games if you want to
Great idea
Diana, candy!
The banning of crazy Iori and Leona rule also applies among Chinese players. KOF97 was and might still be the MOST popular fighting game among Chinese players.
Again how anybody defeated Magaki, i will never know.
HE COULD GRAB YOUR HEAD THROUGH AN ALTERNATE DIMENSION!!!
Mukai was a *"Talent Announcer"* (Gate Keeper/Plot Device) to put Saiki over.
I remember back in the KOF 97 arcades, if your opponent chose Orochi Iori, YOU choose Orochi Iori. It would be your only chance to win. I could get lucky and beat Orochi Leona with Robert, but no one stood a chance against Orochi Iori except using him yourself too.
True.
Mukai's death parallels the similarities and power gap between Ash and Saiki: Ash collected two Sacred Treasures, but Saiki collected the powers of Mukai and Magaki. Saiki throwing darkness-infused rocks and transforming show he did get their powers.
Wanna hear something scary for Halloween?
GENOCIDE CUTTAH!
I really enjoyed this list shoryugame. I lot of WTF moments in this game, some I didn’t even heard of. Btw, are you saying we should like Magaki or not? XD
We don't have to like Magaki's cheapness, but his design is pretty cool if you ask me.
3:15 - It's the Blacknoah, Rugal sank it in '94, after he was been defeated... That's why it's underwater...
Great video, keep it up dude!
Appreciate it!
I have found my new favorite TH-cam channel
I swear Shoryu’s channel is gonna blow up when KOF XV is released
Mature's Lipstick Trail had me going for a bit...It was cool though.
They should revive Rugal so Adelheid can fight him
Vice my waifu as thumbnail of the video. You have a classy taste indeed.
Great video man but i wish the videos would come out more frequent
Awesome Vid man I remember them Arcade days CLASSIC KOF BEAT EM UPS
That Omega Rugal thing… I imagined his ship sank into the ocean and he was isolated there. So he used the tech in the ship to convert the statues of his opponents into sustenance. In order to keep going and we, the player, interrupted him.
Interesting!
The kof xi ending iori, kyo, and shingo ending and ash stealing iori's power. Like leaving a cliffhanger
Takuma reflecting the Zero Cannon with a Haoh Shouken was a wtf moment. Epic.
Takuma's most badass moment in KOF
That is my favourite moment of Takuma
But is it considered canon?
@@lolwhat19 I highly doubt it
You are not talking about the moment after where he mentioned that Kign was pregnant, a moment in character that was never mentioned or being continued ever since then? xD
The best WTF moment to yet happen is seeing Shermie's eyes
I had a theory he has either:
1. Soulless eyes (lack of pupils)
2. Snake Eyes
3. Literally lack of eyes, just a blank spot.
I always preferred KOF over Street Fighter due to it's dark and edgy (in a good way) story
And the characters are more stylish imo
@Reyan Mahir your point?
I’m 33 years old now and Orochi still scares me...😟gulp 😭
That one Kula's super "La ✩ Cachora " I always wondered where it came from.
10:18 So the Pharaoh grows leather shoes when possessing Yugi...
_TheMoreYouKnow_
Kof really shines after 97. It's still my favourite kof.
Biggest WTF moment for me is when Shingo wasn’t in the last game =_=
Thanks for bringing back the memories
Regarding Rugal's stage in '98, I think it's worth a mention that you can see something that looks like Goenitz's decapitated corpse in the back.
Leona saluting Chang still puzzles me to this day, I can't even come up with any suppositions, except that the it's probably a glitch, can anyone tell me what they think?
It was a bug and then they made it a recurring joke afterwards.
Kof 2003
Was has one of the biggest storyline
Change my mind
I never played that Omega Rugal stage. it looks like "fetus of god" from Vampire Savior.
To be honest the treatment of the American Sports team is the real number 1 KOF moment.
Crazy Leona is the scariest of the two
What if that rule you mentioned in the arcade is still enforced
Crazy Iori/wild Leona was a very surprising moment.
Happy Halloween to you. :)
Great seeing such knowledge on the story of the series
Glad you enjoy it!
Vice & Matures murder in KOF 96 and return in KOF 13 still steals the WTF for me!
my favorite moment is when Leona salutes Chang in 98 and Chang salute back in XIV , but I would like to assume that Chang was probably a former soldier during his youth before to be the big criminal with jail ball , I see very well Smart Chang with a military outfit
There's one I'd never forget. seeing Iori's Leader Desperation Move in KoF 2003 for the first time :0
At the Omega Rugal stage in KOF 98' there's a headless Goenitz body in the left corner.
Verse's defeat resurrecting every dead character in the series is a shocker.
also ash being evil and taking iori's flames is a strong one too
