Séguedille- Épitaphe pour Carmen et son assassin

Épitaphe pour Carmen et son assassin is a theatrical response to the famous Bizet opera, in which Quebec author France Lacasse explores the imagined psychological state of Don José’s mother while her son is imprisoned for murder, and condemned to execution. She imagines the drama that went on between the lovers, hunted by the memory of Carmen, portrayed here by Rose Naggar-Tremblay at the Festival d’opéra de Québec in 2024.
