I’m curious if you’ve tried the head into the recto cab yet? If you have what’s your opinion? Is it a good live in the room sound? I’m thinking about grabbing one of these heads and wonder how it would pair with that cab just for home use

That call of kthulu tone gave me chills. There’s something about that song that’s just magical, perhaps kthulu really does come through when you play those notes together with just the right tone.

People who spend 5 minutes with a Katana and then say it sucks, make me laugh. They think it can't possibly be any good if it doesn't have tubes in it, or a boutique pricetag. 😆
I've had my MkII 50w for a little over two years now and I'm still really finding out just how to tweak it. It's actually pretty fun and I'm getting it to sound a little better to my ears each time I tweak the EQ. I'll be honest, I wasn't too impressed with it at first, but like you said, I hadn't spent much time with it. Two years later, I'm starting to see the potential of this amp, especially in conjunction with the Boss Tone Studio app.
@@nckhed Exactly. It takes time to learn how to tweak it. You must use the Tone Studio software. I am still learning my Katana, and I have had mine for around 5 years now.

You should try some of the sneaky amps that are hidden away in the katana. There are some rectifier and Marshall tones to be had!!! Gives more options than just the crunch, lead and brown sounds on the panel.

You're awesome dude, I don't think enough beginners (even after four years I still consider myself a beginner in the grand scheme of things) realize just how important good tone is for playing, I know for a fact most just turn up the gain and scoop the mids. The Tone Studio is absolutely fantastic for finding and making awesome sounds, and right now you're the best I've seen at it. I've used some of your tones on my 50W Mk II amp and they're top notch.
Hey, i recently bought a marshall dsl20hr with a harley benton g212 vintage cab and now i’m thinking about selling the dsl20hr to buy this head. What are the differences between the amps and which do you think is better?
Amazing tones! Really impressed. I am getting more and more into buying Katan Head as it seems like perfect solution - plugged into 212 during rehearsals and playing on built in speaker during practice.

On the Katana, there is a mod I believe called Guitar Sim. If you use that you will find various sims within that, including Acoustic Guitar sims. It sounded as though you may not have been aware of that so I thought I would mention it. Thanks for the video!
@@dannyb6618 It's in the Boss Tone Studio app. Assuming you haven't used it, it really opens up a whole new world with the Katana. Built-in noise suppressor, a wide selection of effects, boosters, mods, EQ, etc. I didn't use it for a while, but it's worth getting into. And it's all free.
This is really great! I can’t believe how accurate you dial the tone. Unfortunately I only have the katana air and the MKII presets don’t work. It would be really helpful to have the screenshots. Amazing channel!
I have problems downloading the program. I downloaded the files necessary for the program but I never got the program to start. Do I need to have the chord from the amp to the pc connected while downloading the necessary files for the program?

Looking to upgrade from my practice marshall amp (mg15gfx) But can't decide if i should get a brand new BOSS Katana-100 MkII 100W $380or a used Marshall Dsl40cr for around $550. it's almost a $200 price difference. i already own a six band EQ pedal and a Tube screamer to help with the tones. I mostly play thrash. (megadeth, metallica, etc)

Is it possible to get such a tone with passive pickups? I have Ibanez guitars with passive magnets and that's why I play Satriani and I could never get the good Metallica tone from the old albums.
I love the Boss Katana. I need to find time to mess with the tone studio. I’ve just been using patches which are kind of hit and miss, probably because of my pickups.
Man i bought the mk1 version a while back and i couldn’t get a tight tone to save my life, sounded very solid statesh. Flubby and dark. Bought a dsl20hr and man that thing rips the katana a new one.

I think they deleted them in recent updates. I downloaded them and none of the amps worked. Reading the forums people say they’ve been removed
