  • In this episode of Budget Build Garage we team up with Danny Cruz and his 5.3 LS 1969 Camaro build, better known as #SlayerCamaro. This is a hell of a ’69 Camaro Restomod LS, pushing over 600-HP. His #TurboCamaro consists of a 5.3 LS engine with upgraded pistons and rods. He has a 78 millimeter Turbonetics turbo and this 1969 Camaro turbo charger with 10 psi boost. He backs that up with a T56 Magnum transmission for #1969Camaro and a 12 bolt rear end with 3.73 gear ratio. He keeps the air temp down with a intercooler rated at 1000 horse power. Like I said, this is a bad 1969 Camaro methanol injection turbo which helps cool the charge as well as boost the octane. Everything is controlled by a Camaro LSX Gold box by EFI Source.

    Also, pretty awesome write-up on Danny: www.streetmusc...
    Special thanks to Danny Cruz of Muscle Mechanix for teaming up with Budget Build Garage for this episode!

    Thanks everyone for watching! What do you think about the #SlayerCamaro? What are your thoughts on Budget Build Garage teaming up with other TH-cam #GearHeads?

      It is an awesome car! I think that doing more videos with other channels would be cool. You should do another video of this thing in action.

      We wanted to get a bunch of driving in the video but it had been raining for days so we figured we would do a second video with it on the road.

    I like that he kept the original truck manifold. It lets you use a traditional throttle cable instead of a fly by wire. It is cheaper and more simple.

      I agree with you. Danny and I were talking about that off camera. The feel of a throttle cable is so much better in my opinion and if they brake you can get a cable anywhere.

    I really like the tablet in the dash. You can mount them without destroying an original dashboard or gauge cluster. It makes it easier to go back to stock if you ever want to.

      Not ruining a classic dash is a bonus and the amount of custom info you can set up with them is awesome.

    Thats cool to hear of guys roadtripping their classic rides. Don't see many doing that anymore. I gotta say though that dude is hard core running that radiator back there exposed. Something can get kicked up on the road and put a hole through it or damage the fans. I had just filled up the tank on my Monte. Jumped back on the freeway in Shreveport La on my way from Florida to Texas. As soon as I got on the freeway I heard something hit under the car. Pulled over and just watched as all my gas spewed out of the fuel tank. A piece of angle iron punctured it. Don't know if it was on the road or if it fell off a vehicle in front of me. It was dark so I couldn't tell.

      I agree with the road tripping man. There is nothing like driving a muscle car down a long highway through a desert or forest. Where you able to patch the tank or did you have tow it all the way home?

    • @ClassicRideSociety
      @ClassicRideSociety 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@BudgetBuildGarage I had to leave it on the side of the road while I went to the junkyard the next day to get a tank. The hole was too big to patch

      @@ClassicRideSociety That sounds like an adventure and it's cool you fixed it instead of having to tow it home.

    I really do love pretty much anything with a turbo but a V8 with a turbo is just so mean!

      Turbos really are a game changer for any engine you put them on.

    Can you do a video on adding a FiTech or similar efi carb on the 400 block? I'm thinking about swapping to one on my 350 in my 72 Chevy super cheyenne swb
