Thanks a lot. I just finished mine a couple hours ago and it folds up perfectly for transport. The mirrors at Walmart were $5.88 and the hardware cost about $5. I included washers to prevent the tips of the screws from piercing through the backs of the frames but it works great!
@@LRo157 You ought to see my first try.Real bad. Second attempt will be better. Especially with this mirror set up.Trying to do it the opposite the mirror tells you is a trip. And with the other hand. OMFG!!
B Frizzy I’m sure it can be done with some “over the door hooks”. Personally, I made my mirrors with the purpose of not having to cut my hair in the bathroom.. cause I tend to take long and don’t want anyone waiting on me.. lol. I might make a video on how I stand it.
Thanks for the video! Mirrors don't seem to be affordable anymore. I suggest surfing Craigslist and Facebook marketplace for used mirrors. I'm going to try for larger mirrors to make a "super" version of this. Probably 20-24 inch width. I have wide shoulders (22") so the 16- width might be restrictive.
I would go to the Walmart website and double check if your local stores have them. I haven’t seen similar ones anywhere else, but if I do, I’ll update this.
Hey random question. I made one .. perfect but didn't put the lights so far... but I have used it any way to hide the backing of the mirror ? And I have it hung on my door and it tends to one side to open fully and one kinda just doesn't want to stay open a certain angle.. any tips on how to make it stiffer to keep it open ..? If that makes sense
Unfortunately the hinges I used in the video aren’t stiff enough for them to stay in place. The best way to remedy this, is to make sure the mirror is not at an angle (not tilting forward). You can do this by adding some ‘felt pads’ on the bottom side so that it’s level against the door... and that way the side mirrors won’t move around too much. As for the closing part, you can get some Velcro strips and stick them on, so that when you close it, it stays. Just don’t put a big piece.. or else you’re gonna struggle to open it lol
Lindokuhle 247 just like you hang any other mirror. Just mount the middle one with some screws, screw into a stud if you want it secure, or just a nail. Alot of these mirrors have nail hangers on the back.
armchairgangsta c This one is hanging from a screw on the wall. But if you don’t want to make a hole on your wall, I recommend buying a ‘command strip picture hanger’ from Walmart.. it’s strong enough to hold it and you can remove it in the future without leaving damage on the wall.
Jawsjawsjawsrg I made a wooden stand for it, but if you want to hang it over the door... you’re gonna need a set of screw hooks and “over the door” kit like he used ^
Solution: Find 3 plain mirrors with screw holes in each corner. Get a sheet of ply wood & cut the shape you need for each mirror. Then screw the mirrors to each piece of ply & put the hinges on etc. Done!!
Could someone help me with the recommended measures to do so? Do you know the size of the original self cut system? I would greatly appreciate your help.
Could just get all hinges the same and put one set on back side. Folding one mirror back . No bending of "t" hinges.Store on exposed mirror up.Use door hanger brackets for using. Not wall.
hdtripper1 unfortunately, doing that would not allow the 3rd mirror to move forward all the way; the hinge is not wide enough so the two mirror frames would hit each other.
