    Excelente vídeo! Eu tenho um Px 5S, o FA deu uma resposta melhor, mais o PX não fica pra trás porque se fizer alguns ajustes de equalização e ambiencia no timbre fica muito mais compativel

    i sold my FA-08 and kept my Px-5s, the FA-08 is heavy when u play on gigs. Its lighter than the fantoms but still heavy. So I decided to sell it. Soundwise, people always say this is better than this one, once u r playing on stage, nobody cares what keyboard you are playing, just make sure you know your parts. Practice will makes yousound good. if u need a sampling stage piano with vocoder and sequencer then get the fa-08,. But if u dont need those features, save money and save you back the px-5s is the ideal board for gigging pianist/keyboardist... i love roland, i still have my fantom g and xv-5080. So its not bias, im just telling the truth. it depends on your need ✌🏿️

      All of the gear you mention is overkill for the mediocre speakers in most venues. It is most important to know your stuff, just like you say.

    Using the "Modern Grand" preset on the PX-5S would certainly have been a more even comparison. The Roland by default is much brighter. Roland pianos always sound like "Rolands" not an acoustic to me. I prefer the more natural tone of the Casio.

    Late to the game on this topic. But I've had to mic live pianos using at least two mics. Basically, it just sounds like two different real pianos mic'd differently. They both sound authentic. In many cases, the first line of difference in sound on the digitals is how they are sampled in mic placement and with the type of mics. And then comes the digital part of storage, triggering, effects, etc. Both are great sounding. You can mimic that Roland easily on the Px-5s with real time eq and some other controls on the Casio. It's a great board, and lightweight. Opps, logged in on my wife's account.

      Roland have moved away from just purely sampled piano sounds and use a far more sophisticated modelling process these days, this is particular obvious when the decay of the strings is heard on thick chords, another remarkable thing with their piano sound is the simulation of actual acoustic piano resonance, this cannot be mimicked.

    I closed my eyes and was trying to guess which was FA and which was Casio and I've got it abut 50% times wrong depending which section of the keyboard you were playing. The mid to high on Roland is very bright and looses the real piano ambiance, sounds like keyboard, while the casio has more real feel. Bass part of keyboard sounds little muddied on casio and a bit fuller on roland. With two hands spread the FA sounds still bit more like keyboard while casio has more feel of actual acoustic piano, but it is splitting hairs and it depends more on the player than the keyboard.. (I have FA by myself and I am not entirely satisfied by the supernatural piano sound, I feel its rather artificial, the free expansion piano bank give more variety and in some way the pianos there sound more like real piano even the samples are much older and probably also smaller. I guess the FA supernatural will stand better in the mix, due to the better cutting highs. I had tyros 4 and somehow the piano sounded more sweet and "expensive" than on FA. But it is a software issue, I think they could do a better job on roland if they want, but this is the sound they like.

  • @jimi18032
    @jimi18032 7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    The lows and highs on each sound great. But the mids are significantly different. The Roland sounds more like an acoustic piano. The Casio sounds like a toy. This has always kept me from using Casio on stage. I did own a PX5S for a while but I couldn’t get used to the piano sounds or the frustratingly small screen. I sold it and bought a CP4 Stage. Twice the price but superb sounds right out of the box.

    Casio def. Roland sounds more plastic to me. Btw, I have a Roland FA-07 and a Casio PX-560 + Casio PX-160. I prefer Casio any time. Sounds natural. Love their piano sound, and the action. Don't forget the timbre. The timbre is what the Roland is realy missing.

    • @Jason75913
      @Jason75913 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      How are the Casio interfaces vs. FA-07's? Just as easy to do splits, layers, edit oscillators and filters? Then the Casios lack the FA's sample pads. FA is a monster in a lot of ways, only the Korg Kronos more closely compares, as far as I know.
      Roland could have put better pianos in the FA, but that would have required an even stronger processor and more memory, which would have driven up the price and it is meant to outdo the Yamaha MOXF6 and Korg Krome in features and capacity to make full tracks like a computer DAW. Well, it isn't as far away from that as the Yamaha and Korg competitors, that's for sure. It certainly does thoroughly outdo them in every way, just not in the main piano sounds, or in Cubase AI integration like the Yamaha.

    Roland way too bright isnt as resonant as that of an actual acoustic grand. Very digital and clear.
    Casio on the other hand has a very organic and acoustic tone. More resonant. Mechanical sounds are audible as well. It captured the feel of acoustic piano
    Actual modern acoustic pianos tend to be muddy when you hold the damper pedal down
