I saw him perform once in Sarasota Florida when he was in his 70's. I sat in the front row. Mid-way through the concert one of the "pics" he was using flew off a finger and landed right in my lap. At the end of the concert he stayed a while in front of the curtain to answer questions. I had a chance to return it. Amazing performer and change maker and in person, quite shy.

Best concert was with my Dad, who couldn't leave the house easily, but I got tickets for you at Town Hall and you played with Sonny Terry and Brownie McGee. Dad changed his suit for a work shirt! and sweater. Thank you for the sight of my father back in his element and with a big smile. Bless you for that smile. Do I miss your concerts. I guess when it's my turn I'll meet up with !y Dad and come to hear ypu. Say "hi," to Woodie.
