    It's interesting when you listen to people, like intelligent non-NPC individuals, how your brain downloads their profile in a way and references it as a model. With every conversation it opens up something about an individual's *way* of thinking and it is something that you access in subconscious ways. It's true when I encounter things covered on the Coffee w/ Scott Adams podcast in real life I can almost hear Scott's voice in my head. He becomes a pillar of perspective, not perfect but genuinely helpful. For instance when the world is melting down I can almost hear the calming, reassuring, tone of Scott's voice saying "Don't worry. That's not a thing." we are moving into a Golden Age or I think about how he might talk about reframing something and exploring that freedom to interpret in a helpful way. I enjoy the *way* he goes about analyzing in his skeptical way and testing predictions, and I am able to better see through all the projections and manipulations just because I have downloaded something of his wisdom. And this happens subconsciously because I can remember some dreams when I have actually been talking to Scott or coming to him for advice. It demonstrates that he is in there, sorta permeated the consciousness. Not sure if that makes sense but the open nature of this discussion kinds brings this up and makes me think of the ways we integrate wisdom from people. I'm so grateful to have access to such an interesting blend of perspectives.

      Brewer, this is how God works too. I've noticed most people don't open up for learning because they are too concerned with ego, insecurities, and/or envy. I'm much less calm and collected as Naval, which gives me strength in certain arenas, but mostly will work against me given the realities of the world, and the profile of most people.

    Great conversation. And on Naval's point of you observing thoughts, actually it is only thought observing another thought. The thought 'I am observing' is all that is. To say only awareness exists is also another thought. There is no you as you know yourself other than thought. What's there beyond thought is unknowable by definition.

    • @johndamascus6039
      @johndamascus6039 หลายเดือนก่อน

      This is interesting, but I think you are overthinking it. The thought I am observing is a thought, but observing or awareness of thoughts (which come and go and aren't typically "from" you) is actual consciousness. I think, like God, what's beyond thought is participated in, and not fully known of course, but also not "unknowable."

    • @sureshn13
      @sureshn13 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I said 'unknowable' for a specific reason as knowing is a function of memory. What's beyond thought is not 'known' but can be realized non verbally.
