This is a disastrous way of fishing, the nets indiscriminately scoop up everything on its way, it appears the west fishing industries were so greedy they catch more than the needs and destroying the natural environment to sustain itself. Many other animals relied on these shrimps in their food chain. The international committee must set a quota for catches of all kinds of seafood and specially designed nets/equipment or methods for the specific catch to avoid indiscriminately catching the unintended fish.

Yes because fishermen want to destroy every bit of the ocean because that’s their goal and they want to be out of a job. After that they will move on to destroying retirement homes, orphanages, and hospitals.

@@michaelford1602 exactly,.so you can't say it's not sustainable. As someone said, there's biologists that usually give the ok for fishing in certain regions for the shrimp knowing that during the off season their numbers multiply and then next season they can do it again. They mate like crazy and lay ridiculous amounts of eggs so I'd venture to say we're good lol. I worked on 70-74 ft boats with a three man total crew and the money that needs to be made is way different for the boat in video. I don’t know where this video is from, but I fished commercially for shrimp on the Oregon Coast. We were heavily regulated. So much so we were deemed a sustainable fishery by the powers that be. We too used nets, with “excluders”, as this boat had, which forces bigger fish out of the net. We didn’t have boats of this size though! Not catching/processing shrimp. Anyway, shrimp reproduce quickly, and there’s usually a size limit that must be met.

Our earths surface is 6/7th water, and it is anywhere from a few inches to, hundreds or even thousands of feet deep. Around 7 billion people are on the other 1/7th of the earths surface. We haven't depleted the 1/7th, I don't think we will deplete the other trillions of cubic ft of water. There is no way to fathom what all is in that much water, much less catch it all.
