Thanks Brian, 8 years later and you’re still helping newbies like me 👍
@@YTTHROWAWAYCORONA glad the video is still helping. Thank you!
After watching your video I ordered the pulley puller/installer . I just used it and the pulley came right off like it did for you.
Thanks for the video. It was straight forward and to the point. I like it that way.
Glad the video was helpful. Thank you for watching!
By far one of the best videos I found related to taking my pulley of my Yukon. Thanks!
Thanks buddy you're a lifesaver
Best informal video on how to use a pully puller, subscribed.
stefanie contreras hopefully that pulley didn’t give you too much trouble. They can be a pain. Thank you for subscribing and watching!
Thanks for sharing. Puller/installer came with part descriptions, but no instructions. Now to get my k1500 back on the road again.
Love bro glad there's people like you
Thank you man it’s been so long since I use one of these two I got to pull it off and forgot how to install it. I’ve been driving trucks too lol thanks.

Tim's Lawn Care glad to help. Thank you for watching!
Good video, helped a lot, thanks.
Just got this set from Harbor Freight. Thanks for the demo because I had no idea how to use this. One thing I noticed after watching this and a few other videos, is there is no need to put the thrust bearing in when you are removing the pulley as the 2 outer ridged pulley puller pcs are taking the brunt of the force, the thrust bearing never contacts the pulley on removal.
Its obviously needed when you put the pulley on and I agree you showed putting it back on 100% correct, only comment I could add is to add whats called "high compression" grease but I suppose any grease or oil will work applied to the inside pulley hole and pulley, that may make it a bit easier to put it on.
In another video I saw someone use the 2 outer ridged pulley puller pcs with the thrust bearing to put the pulley back on, watching your video I' not sure those pcs are need, perhaps the help provide a bit stability for the thrust bearing but I would think the nut with the embedded washer like front end is more than enough to stabilize it. Also saw use of the non threaded inserts for pulley a pulley off.
One more thing, I reccomend people take a good look at how far the pulley is compressed on before taking off, you did touch on alignment, but pulley position is important so the belt is not offset, just a thought for people doing this to keep it in mind.
Good video, thanks again.
Don thank you for watching and the tip A bout the grease.
In order to align the pulley, do I back out the pulley using the tool by 1/8 inch or so? Do I need to put washers?
I understand how to remove and install the pulley, I am having a hard time finding the correct Power steering pump pulley installer for my 2006 Dodge Ram 2500 with a Cummins. Can you point me in the right direction? I have found the all of the pulley installation bolts wobble in the pulley shaft and I do not feel like I have the correct install bolt.
Good Video..., straight to the point! Thanks!
Cobra Ninety Six thank you and thank you for watching!
What size wrench and socket do you have there?
Thank you so much.short infomitive and to the point.
Instructions suck on these rentals. Thx for the vid, it was more helpful
How do you keep your threaded shaft from not turning when pressing the pulley on? Not a very good demonstration
I loved the video
How much those it cost to replace carborator manifold gasket on my chevy s10 2000 started leaking collant after I hit gas pedal hard 3 times .
Thank you for the video. I needed to pull off the pully to swap the alternator bracket on a SBC 350.
Sakumi glad to help. Thank you for writing and watching!
Thank you brother!
Thank you for watching!
Thank you.
I can’t seem to do this right. I’m working on a 02 Ford Taurus. I’ve pulled the pulley and put in the new pump. Now I’m trying to re install the pulley but the kit I’m using is very similar to yours and the small bolt inside the pump keeps being undone when I tighten the big bolt with that other on it that pushes the pulley in. What am I doing wrong?
Emmanuel Caarion Once you get it started try holding the pulley instead of the bolt
How would one hold the pulley in place to do that? I am having the same problem@@HowtoAutomotive
Did you have to hold the pulley while you tighten the bolt to seat the pulley?
bassment03 sometimes you will need to hold it for a few seconds and sometimes you will not have to hold it depending on what you’re working.
THank you, sir...
Thanks man
Hi mr I’m wondering for the small piece like a c that you used before whit the bolt. Please let me know if is art of the pulley or not. I’m living Costa Rica 🇨🇷 and I a seller of car tools so I’m looking for strange things like that. Lease let me know the name of an where can I get it. Thanks a lot friend.
why does the center bolt start to not be straight after some turns causing the puller to slip off the pulley? The bolt doesn't appear to be crooked, looks straight to me
Thanks Brian

G Pro awesome thank you for subscribing watching the video. I probably should remake this one this is one of my first videos.
Why does none of these sights show how to remove the Nissan Altimas that don't have the lip for the tool??? I had to use a 2 leg wheel puller
I'm really not a mechanic and i don't know what I'm doing and I'm on the side of the road!!!!!
And i have all the parts to replace power stering pump
@@brucemurphy6355 I would recommend you tow the vehicle to a safe spot where you can take your time to do it.
Me and my grandpa are trying to do this on a 99 ford ranger. The outer piece just keeps unscrewing itself every time. What the hell is going on??
You can't see what tools are needed for installing the. Don't move the camera around so much, maybe have it stationary.
did not show the actual press on.
Very good video. But after I get to a point, the entire pulley starts turning and I can't hold it tight enough to continue the pressing. What am I doing wrong?
Bill Ewing doesn't matter if pulley spins.its still pulling off
Skipping parts some of these people need instructions step by step.
