I remember playing a game where you have technical trucks that can pick up scrap from dead enemy units and they sort of self upgrade, I think it was Command & Conquer Generals, but not 100% sure if my memory is correct
to expand slightly: the above comment is attempting to respond to one of mr kevin's comments about how he'd like to play a game where players upgrade units, those units can die, and the upgrades are able to be picked up by the battlefield and used by other units. Company of Heroes is a game with a system that's quite close to what mr kevin was describing
Love the idea about items bound to units, that stuff is going to be in RTS i'm making=) To limit snowballing, items need to have durability and break with use. So e.g. if you make yamato upgrade for a BC, the cannon has a chance to break that increases over time and shots fired. So if you defeat a BC and put the thing onto your viper, it will not permanently buff it.
Protoss mining from the gold base and terran still having higher income, shows how broken mules really are. Not even being ahead a few workers for a while due to chrono even begins to compare. If the chrono was permanent like before perhaps it would compare.
Lol what do you want him to do? All those Medivacs are gonna die and then cure has maybe 30 army supply left while 4 colossi, 3 immortals and infinite zealots run into his base… game was completely over after that engagement
Mengsk in the SC2 Coop has equippable weapons that drop after a soldier dies.
I was gonna say yeah, and it's used in many arcade games.
was gonna comment this too XD
Mengsk is love, Mengsk is life!

@@jeffreywilliams3421 yes, the GLA can do that
1:55 the first two Warhammer 40k Dawn of War RTS games have that! :)
company of heros is the game you search for. its a slow RTS but very tactical and for real WW2 times

I wish that the kill count in sc2 on units did something. Like after ir units get to certain ranks they get very minor buffs
Based on the beginning of the video, harstem should try out dawn of war 2. Not really an rts though, more of a real time tactics game
There's a C&C game where a NOD unit called the 'Avatar' can equip itself with upgrades by sacrificing other units; be it allies or enemies.

@@arcturus6072yes hero had a lot of robo units but i think that cure could have still tried because he had a lot of production
Got to agree, he had Mine and Viking already producing, big Mine hits are always a possibility.
He lost all his vikings and hero had 3 colossus left, it was super over
