The main issue with Bollywood is cultural disconnect when compared to other film industries in India.
They are more connected with Pakistan.
Cause they don't have connected culture. Bollywood is based in Mumbai (former Bombay). But they find it difficult to adapt Maharashtrian culture. Bollywood wanted to be an Indian Cinema but they aren't finding correct culture to represent.

The solution to the intent problem raised by Prakash Raj is simple. He should make films like street performers. Perform first. Whoever will like it will pay and whoever didn't like it will not pay. AIM is absolutely right when he says the RW in India has a serious problem with optics and presenting strong logical points in debates on Bollywood. I mean even after having enough material, the discussion was all over the place. Some obvious stuff could have been:
1. Bollywood's desire to peddle anti India-anti Hindu propaganda: We have scores of movies trying to "civilize" Hindus like OMG, PK etc which have been blockbusters. Absolutely no parallel for Abrahamic faiths.
2. Painting peacefuls in a very positive light even in situations where they are wrong: No social message for them be it normalising Sufism & dargah (who are equally anti non- peaceful and pro conversion) or appeasing Kashmiri Ms, who are hands down the most radicalised community, in many movies like Fiza, Fanaa, Haider etc. Shameful it took decades to make TKF, which shows a very watered down version of events, and that too was boycotted!
3. Anurag Kashyap once upon a time was such a great filmmaker but after Gangs of Wasseypur it seems Bollywood has infected his brain and he is only interested in far left politics which also shows in sharp fall of quality in his work. And he is not the only one.
4. Bollywood or Hindi cinema- Why were the scripts written in Urdu earlier and now in English, driven by the wannabe SoBo types? Can you expect these people, who are ashamed of their own language, to make something good?
5.OTT is all hot air, atleast the content coming from same Bollywood houses which repackages the same crap. Here too Hindu bashing continues with jokes like Ghoul, Sacred Games and many many more who are simply too vile.
6.Unflinching love & devotion to Pak: I mean it is ok to take creative liberties but why all of it means sucking upto them: From Main hoon na to Tiger series, Agent Vinod to even Pathaan, ISI is painted as a good guy helping India which is such a crude joke. Reality is so dark but Bollywood runs away when it comes to showing the very real Hinduphobia of the Pak society.
We do have folks like J Sai, Anand, AIM, Sanjeev Sanyal, Vikram Sampath but they cannot be expected to debate everywhere considering they are more academic and seem to be not in Bollywood that much.
