In this episode we build an HO scale comic book store from fosscalemodels.com . LINKS Pounce wheel for adding nail holes amzn.to/3SqIHsj Metal blocks (123 blocks) amzn.to/496qS96
Fascinating story of your time in comic books I'm so intrigued I'll keep an eye out next time I'm at my local store or at a comic con, fantastic little model kit a tribute to you 👍♥️
Thanks Jason! Great as always. Glad I’m not the only one who races ahead and cuts my trim too short. It was great to learn some of your back story as well. We appreciate you sharing it.
Any comic books I had as a kid quickly ended up in the trash with the newspapers. Mothers like to purge ruthlessly 😢. Later in my 20s and 30s was buying Heavy Metal and National Lampoon.
I’m glad you told about your previous job. I’ve always wondered how you got into comics and what you did. Very interesting! Oh and BTW? LOVED the build, too!
Winter is not as BAD as the media makes OUT...ESPECIALLY with modern heating and modern cloths WHICH are unappreciated HUGE factors aa was modern food preservation and transport generations before.....Many animals have more problems with tbe heat than the cold and tbe cold itself isn't the problem to many animals its the lack of food......ALSO , as FAR as your story i bet RIGHT NOW if you go to Iowa it won't be as cold as your 50 year memory of it or anyones memory of where they lived mostky as a child
You talked about working for a model airplane company in California. I was just wondering what model airplane company you worked for here in California. Great VLOGS jason keep them up I have learned a great deal from you Thank You.....
Another great video; Keep 'em coming. I'm still learning from every one of these. btw ..... Your phone call to Doug worked; the kit is now on his website (2/4 11 pm) 😎😜
Hi Jason, great job, all of your work is amazing. Just wondering if you have anytips on printing to scale advertising decals for Model Buildings. I have an HP inkjet printer, I'm building the tyco main street buildings now and want to dress them up some. Thank you!
Jason, likely not your interest but in away it relates to your experience in the comics industry. Dan Davis on his TH-cam channel is currently building a 1/33rd scale Me-410 from Manly. This is an older hand drawn and hand colored paper model with the spotted camo pattern used by the Luftwaffe. What is amazing is the way the camo and panel lines are matching up. All of the kits today are designed digitally. The kit mentioned was done with french curves and slide rules or calculators.
30 years comic book painter, what an awesome job , can't imagine it been easy though? If i clean up , usually i can't find anything, always a pleasure to wash Jason, very nice comic shop , love the sign 😎😎😎😎😎 have a good one mate
Jason truly enjoy all your videos. I'm mainly an n scale guy and was wondering how close you are to videoing you work in that scale? Again love all the videos😂
Jason, great model build, and it fits in exactly where you wanted/needed it. Great placement. Thank you for sharing some of your life story. Our history, and the people we have interacted with make us who we are today. Great history. Thank you again for sharing, and stay safe, Michael
you should do a tour of your workshop and tools and what your using. just started of and find your videos so helpfull. im trying to get some of the colors and stuff your using, but its quite a bit of research from each video to see what your using.
Where Jason talks about being careful about cutting in relation to the length of the text. If necessary scan and reduce the graphics to fit. Not to tread on copyright though.
Hi Jason, I've seen you and others using the Vetero stains unfortunately they don't ship overseas. Do you know of a close similar product that's readily available all over the world? I'm in the UK btw.
Mix your own. Isopropyl alcohol and black or colored India ink. You can also add whatever craft paint you want to the black mixture and that works too.
I had no idea that you worked in comics. No disrespect to Larry Hama, the Blaylock era is my favorite for GI Joe since it consistently so grounded and compelling. It inspired me to stage and photograph scenes using the Hasbro Classified figures.
I'm not sure what cities and towns are like along the Mississippi. But your models have also reminded me of old New England towns. I visited a comic shop like this is New London, CT.
In a thirty year career in the comic book industry Jason likely saw a shift from doing the coloring by hand with ink to doing it digitally. Comic books like any other business is likely to look at cutting expenditures. One place to cut it is using a minimal color palette. It would be interesting to know if he worked for Marvel, DC or or one of the other publishers. But that's his business. If he wants to tell, it's up to him.
Funny you bringing up comic books. I was just wondering about getting my collection appraised. Old World War 2 comics, vamprella, Heavy Metal and various others. No idea where to go. Thank you for your very interesting background story. It makes sense because the way you paint your kits is awesome. Well the results is awesome. Great kit, congratulations on being honored with your own store.
Great small building I, for one, enjoyed you short bio. I admire your art and modeling skills. I can no longer build due to unsteady hands. Keep up the good work!
Jason, thank you for the glimpse into the man behind the models. We never miss a video.
Great build. I enjoyed hearing you background. You are obviously driven to work hard and you have so much talent. Thank you for helping us newbies.
Just noticed your Fiskars working board. Go Finland! Best scissors brand in the world. 😉
Cool! I love your back story along with the build. Great work.

great build and great to hear about your background!
Love the little bit of history in your back story. Great kit too!
Great kit!
Thanks for the comic labor. Helped me make a living. I had a comic shop for twenty years when I sold it. Still going!
Any comic books I had as a kid quickly ended up in the trash with the newspapers. Mothers like to purge ruthlessly 😢. Later in my 20s and 30s was buying Heavy Metal and National Lampoon.
This whole episode should’ve been called the Origin Story! - Jason Jensen, comic book artist, hero, and artisan!
I’m glad you told about your previous job. I’ve always wondered how you got into comics and what you did. Very interesting! Oh and BTW? LOVED the build, too!

I'd be super happy if the locos I collect were less than $300. Looking at you, Trix, Brawa and Roco

I appreciate your sharing so much of your back story Jason. I like knowing about the people I "spend time with". Keep up the good work.

Jasen, do you know if the Batman figure come in Tug's kit? Or is that sold seperatlee? Really love your videos.
great build and a nice story of your life, thanks for sharing.
Light Buttermilk! That is one of my favorites.

You should add your nail holes, first, before you put your bracing on.... 😏
Hey, Jason. I just got to about 6:30. You should add the nail holes before…oh, never mind.
Jason truly enjoy all your videos. I'm mainly an n scale guy and was wondering how close you are to videoing you work in that scale?
Again love all the videos😂
Nice remembrance of your early career. The same reason I have a waterfront scene with ships and Coast Guard boats and patrol craft. Hal

11:52 I don't know why this made me laugh, you're funny 👍
It was very interesting listening to your art work history. I must say you do not look old enough to have worked in the comic industry for 30 years.
Love how you use paint and weathering to make things "pop"
do you produce o gauge buildings or just ho some affordable o scale options are difficult to find ?

Great video of course and I found it very interesting hearing a little of your history.
I built this kit last month. I can't wait to see how yours turned out.
What was the name of the model company you worked for?
That was really nice, getting to know the man behind the models! Thanks for sharing!
Thanks for the autobiography

Good name of this store. I will have to make a replica
That’s such an honor to have your name be the title of this kit !!
Really enjoyed this build and the past that you shared.

U also need to do ur doors and windows before u start building lol
My older brother always tore out the last page of my comic books and never told me why.
I had to draw my own conclusions.
Sounds like he was a jerk.
Very cool build 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Cool.....you should show us some of your comic book artwork....
