      @Richard Dames Fanatics may not care, but this story is complete BS. “In 2002, a box of ancient bones was discovered and archaeologists claimed that it held the remains of Jesus' brother. The "discovery" sparked an international scandal - and was later proven to be completely fabricated.” - The 'Unholy Business' Of Biblical Forgeries, NPR, 2008.
      Dr. William G. Dever, Professor of Near Eastern Archaeology and Anthropology at the University of Arizona, on the forged James Ossuary: "I've known about these ossuaries for many years and so have many other archaeologists, and none of us thought it was much of a story, because these are rather common Jewish names from that period. It's a publicity stunt, and it will make these guys very rich, and it will upset millions of innocent people because they don't know enough to separate fact from fiction." "'Lost Tomb of Jesus' Claim Called a Stunt". The Washington Post, 2007.
      Dr. Paul J. Hopper, professor at Carnegie Mellon University: “The so-called James Ossuary, which caused a brief flutter of interest a few years ago with the claim that the ossuary (a funeral repository of bones) contained an inscription linking it to a James, the supposed brother of Jesus, was quickly disposed of by experts.” A Narrative Anomoly in Josephus

    This documentary reaffirms my belief and faith in Jesus Christ.
    By common sense, the officials of the time would have turned the land of Israel upside down looking for Jesus Christ body as soon as they were aware of people believed that Jesus had raised from the death. Of course, they didn’t find his body and the believers of Jesus, the Son Of God, multiplied for the last 2,000 years. Amen

    To me it would be historically interesting if they could prove this. It only confirms the Bible with more historical proof. When Jesus rose from the grave he was able to pass through walls, appear from thin air, and his own disciples did not recognize him when walking with him until he revels himself. He was very clearly no longer in his human body. Many (if not all) of the disciples and many of the eye witness believers where tortured and put to death. None would stop teaching, or renounce him. Would you do that for a lie? They knew what they saw, and most of them died for it!!

      @@a.d.marshall2748 Brother... how about speaking the truth in love... not calling people RACA? The disciples did not recognize Jesus after his resurrection because Jesus appeared in the form of different people. For example, Mary Magdalene mistook him for a gardener (John 20:11-18), he appeared to two disciples on the road to Emmaus as a fellow traveler (Luke 24:13-21), and as a stranger on the shore of the Sea of Galilee to the disciples (John 21:1-13). In each of these cases, the disciples who saw the resurrected Jesus did not recognize him by his physical features, but by what he said and did.
      Jesus also appeared as himself after his resurrection. Jesus appeared to Thomas with his wounds from the cross to prove to Thomas by sight that he was resurrected (John 20:26-29). Jesus looked like himself as well when he appeared to the disciples before his ascension (Luke 24:36-51). The disciples were able to touch him so that it proved to them that he was not a ghost or some type of vision.
      The disciples learned two important lessons from these appearances after Jesus’ resurrection. First, by seeing Jesus again, the disciples knew he had actually been resurrected. Second, by seeing Jesus take different forms or materialize as different people (just as the angels had done in the Old Testament), they knew he was no longer the man Jesus, but now Jesus had changed into a spirit being.
      Other scriptures show that Jesus is no longer an earthly man. The scriptures say that “Now the Lord is that spirit” (2 Corinthians 3:17) and refer to Jesus as “a quickening spirit” (1 Corinthians 15:45). After his resurrection, Jesus also demonstrated the ability to appear within a locked room among the believers (John 20:26-29) and disappear right in front of them (Luke 24:31). This further demonstrated that Jesus was no longer an Earthly man but now with his resurrection changed into a spirit being.

    One small but very important fact,
    After his being placed in the tomb wrapped in cloth,everyone goes home.
    The next morning Mary goes to the tomb to find that the body has gone and the cloths folded up neatly,
    This is the next day so the body would have been whole, not just bones as placed in these stone boxes, Jesus meets all the deciples and offer for Thomas to put his find in the wounds of the nails so his body is solid.
    This leaves the question how did his family get hold of the bones to put in this box.
    I must point out that i am a believer, and do not doubt that question of who he was and what he did for us all, but i feel that there is a lot to be made for some people by coming up with something new, when in fact we should be paying attention to what he said.

    I’m a Catholic and I have zero issues with discovering the tomb of Jesus or his lineage. To me, this would most certainly not change my faith or beliefs.
    That said, whether you believe the possibility that this is “The Tomb”, I’m having trouble understanding why the censoring and blocking. If there is a clear opportunity to disprove that this is not what some people claim it is, then what is the problem. Why not allow for further research and investigation? People only hide things when they’re afraid of the truth or of something. When you think about it, there’s actually more serious implications from the scenario that this is actually the real thing, than to the opposite. I would tend to say, especially more for the Church, than for most other Christian sects/denominations. In my personal view, if your faith in Jesus and his teachings is based strictly on the “literal” bible, then you have some serious soul searching to do and this is coming from someone who has engaged in apologetics.

    • @havoc092
      @havoc092 3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      If you were Christian, it would bother you. You're not, so, I get it. Your religion was created by Simon Magus, not Jesus. And Magus was rather less credible and less strict in his methodologies which were passed on to the rest of Universalism over time. Yes, you can do your homework. Universalism was founded by the man cursed by the Apostles with the Anathema in the book of acts. He arrived in Rome ca 42 ad - roughly the time they said for 1700 years Simon Peter had Arrived; but, all the historical data denies Peter being in Rome and proves quite otherwise. Magus, however, was there. He discussed, wrote about and established what he called a 'catholic' (universal) religion. One that combined the belief systems of all religions into one. That's what he was teaching when first encountered, btw, a mishmash of Judaism and pagan beliefs. He was renowned in Rome as a Magician and held the title Petr (priest of the mysteries). He was so well known that the Caesar had a statue erected to him and had him venerated along with the gods of Rome. This is all history. Much of what Catholics call dogma derives directly from the pen of Magus. Indulgences - which had part in causing the reformation - was directly authored by Magus. Interestingly, to understand Christianity is to understand that the Holy Spirit is God. Magus attempted to buy the Holy spirit from the Apostles and this is why he was anathematized. He wanted the magic he saw in his own carnal mind and wanted it. But it boils down to trying to buy God. Not an office. And it's thusly interesting that the founder of the 'catholic' religion, Magus, didn't see it as buying God.. thus the Catholic view of the crime called 'simony' is a crime of attempting to buy an office. It's wrong on the second count as well - in Christianity and 'office' is nothing in and of itself. Message is paramount - which is Why Paul quite rightly stated that if he were to teach anything other than his beginning message, he should be counted as anathema. His office granted literally nothing. And, of course, DO NOT TAKE MY WORD FOR IT. Go do your historical research on Simon Magus. Well documented. It's just that Catholics - his late followers - are always the last to find out the truth.

      @@havoc092 Hmm, last I recall, “protestantism” aka, what you call “Christian” LOL; began with a guy named Martin Luther, who after criticizing the corruption of the Church, turned around and used the local nobility to force his Protestantism on all the peasantry around. See, here’s the thing - you have not been awarded any mandate or declared an arbiter of what Christian faith and belief is or should be. Once you have something intelligent and mildly interesting to say, please let me know. LOL

    • @havoc092
      @havoc092 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@aldridkg No no.. you'll need to do better than that. Protestantism was a protest movement that left Universalism.. nothing to do with Christianity apart from their stated goal to reform to get closer to Christianity. Seems to have largely failed. They married philosophy. Christianity existed right alongside of universalism. It's just that the Universalists attempted to murder anyone who didn't bow to them and then denounce them as heretics while making up pious tales of conquest .. which in this day and age with all the info available has been set back a far piece.
      I didn't criticize the corruption of 'the church' either. Universalism isn't 'the church'. And it never has been is what I stated without caviat. I said it because it's a provable fact. What's more, I spent years studying to find out what all the Universalists should have known if they'd done any research at all before adopting. The information has always been there. And while I'm smart, I'm not unique in pointing it out. And as a matter of fact, as a Christian I have something you don't - a priesthood. That does give me the authority and right to speak. You don't have any.. do you. I mean, if you're a universalist (which one assumes at this point) then you will have to admit you have zero authority to speak on behalf of your religion. So why are you? Why are you engaging me when you have no authority offered. If I put a direct question of faith to you .. you can't do anything but give me what they give you to say.. which I can probably quote verbatim to you in the first place and save you the time. I'm stating what anyone willing to do the legwork can find out rather directly for themselves because there is a historical record concerning Simon Petr Magus.. and that was purposed. Everything your relligious group says of Simon the Apostle was true of Magus, not the Apostle - his arrival in Rome. His founding of a religion - namely universalism: the combining of all religions into one. He developed, founded and led his religion from Rome. He was honored by Caesar, not Peter the Apostle but Magus. Magus is the one the statue was erected to. Magus is the one venerated (worshipped) by Rome. Peter the Apostle they wanted nothing to do with. And it wasn't Peter the Apostle that Paul sparred with in Rome.. Paul directly faced down verbally and in print the very dogmatic pronunciations of your founder Magus. Universalism (Latin: Catholicism) Has never been Christian.. ever. Christians, Jews and pagans alike were forced into it at the point of a sword. That is the history. So I'm not your opponent. History is. And History, too, has the authority to speak. Where's yours?

    • @havoc092
      @havoc092 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@aldridkg Finally, and ultimately.. if you want to be a Universalist.. knock yourself out. If you intended to be a Christian instead, go do your homework and, again, knock yourself out. Your soul is your boat to row into eternity. If you want to do it informed or blind - utterly your choice. But the historical record is quite clear on who was and wasn't in Rome. It's clear on the role and life of Magus. It's clear about a lot more things to do about Universalism that you've probably never given a second look before simply adopting what Universalists told you. Your choice; but, Blind acceptance less useful than leaving your fate to the flip of a coin. Both are reckless. I remember being taught how Constantine was a 'Christian' emperor.. utter nonsense.. and how he defended the church by destroying the aryans and the donatists.. not true either.. he exiled Arius and actually preferred the arians - attempting to talk the part of early leaders that bothered to show at Nicea into changing scripture to make Arianism non-heretical. The Donatists, whome early Universalists beseached the emperor to murder, were merely chased out of Roman territory and outlived the Roman empire with a perfectly proper and orthodox statment of Christian faith. When they turn up non heretics with orthodox Christian testimony.. that is a problem for Universalism - not donatists. Their crime was pointing out the heresy of some in the Christian church of having turned in their texts to the emperor and then pay tithes to the Roman gods. For that, the universalists wanted them murdered. And thankfully, that failed. All a matter of history.. it just takes wanting to know and doing the research.. and not all that difficult to do.

    We can surely have a pretty good idea of how frequent the name Yeshoua was during the first century. One way is to gather all the male first names from the New Testament, and/or gather every male first name on each ossuary found at the museum this documentary talks about. From this list, I think we would get a good idea of how popular was a certain name back then. I feel like the name Yeshoua wasn't that popular!

This further demonstrated that Jesus was no longer an Earthly man but now with his resurrection changed into his resurrected body, a spirit being just as we will when he comes. 1 Corinthians 15:53 clearly tells Christians with an ear to hear we will put off our old bodies for new ones. Verse 50 give context...Now this I say, brethren, that flesh and blood (our bodies) cannot inherit the kingdom of God; neither doth corruption (dead bodies) inherit incorruption. 51 Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall ALL BE CHANGED, 52 In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible (New Bodies), and we shall be changed. 53 For this corruptible must put on (be changed to) incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality. 54 So when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and this mortal shall have put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written, Death is swallowed up in victory. 55 O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory? SELAH my friend!~ Selah!

      Something weird about that... I'm sure they could have returned weeks, months later after getting paperwork and approval. The reason they gave was they didn't want kids to fall in... That's not an excuse as that problem could have been averted a thousand different ways. I wonder if they ever even translated the inscriptions that were on the wall down there... I may have to do some searching elsewhere to see if they ever did return.

      The real reason that they covered the tomb up was due to the fact that real research would have exposed the truth. the truth that this was a total fabrication.
      The truth is contained in the inspired Word of God. Jesus rose from the dead and ascended up into heaven. He did not continue to live an earthly life!
      Just say He did; why is there no further record of His life from that moment on?
      Did he simply vanish into obscurity and was never heard of again. No, if he had remained and lived on earth, He would have continued about His Fathers business and continued to proclaim the Gospel. He would have continued teaching, He would have performed many more miracles.
      And God's Word would have been a lie, but God cannot lie, He cannot lie, He is incapable of lying. Therefore the Word of God is truth, which means that this documentary and so many like it are all complete fabrications. Whoever believes mere man over God Almighty, is a fool and almost certainly a non-believer.
      I fear for your never dying souls from that which is to come; the judgement!

      @WinGate Mose I understand your knee jerk reaction but we are called to be Bereans and to study to show ourselves approved.

    This is what archaeologists have learned from their excavations in the Land of Israel: the Deconstructing the Walls of Jericho, Dr. Ze’ev Herzog. Israelites were never in Egypt, did not wander in the desert, did not conquer the land in a military campaign and did not pass it on to the 12 tribes of Israel. Perhaps even harder to swallow is the fact that the united monarchy of David and Solomon, which is described by the Bible as a regional power, was at most a small tribal kingdom. And it will come as an unpleasant shock to many that the God of Israel, Jehovah, had a female consort and that the early Israelite religion adopted monotheism only in the waning period of the monarchy and not at Mount Sinai. Most of those who are engaged in scientific work in the interlocking spheres of the Bible, archaeology and the history of the Jewish people - and who once went into the field looking for proof to corroborate the Bible story - now agree that the historic events relating to the stages of the Jewish people’s emergence are radically different from what that story tells.
    Because the Bible is not a history book, and the scriptures have been misinterpreted for over 2000 years. The Bible is a Mystical book of self discovery, and Jesus taught us the Kingdom of God is within. The death of the Five Senses of the Flesh Body while alive... this is the first resurrection.

      So now we can see it's a planned interpretation by not reading the stories aa a story, but to know the meaning through definition. Rather than fact. Like Abraham and Sarah had two children...which things are an allegory. Galations 4:24 for Sarah is Jerusalem which is above is our mother. But Jerusalem means habitation of peace...
      The mistakes and embellishments are proof not to take the book literally and it's not real history. Yes, the Hebrew Jews are fake. The past Hebrew leaders highjacked Jew for their own. Romans 2:28,29.
      Now watch this...
      Rom 1:16 For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation...
      Colossians 1:27
      To whom God would make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles; which is Christ in YOU, the hope of glory:
      YOU = GOD ..... proof ......Philipians 2:
      5Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus: 6Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God:
      Easy interpretation there, almost literal.

      But, now see, it amazes me how you got ALL THAT code and deciphering from reading the Bible. I figured they'd write it simply. None of THAT riddle stuff ever entered my mind. 🤯
      I only got that God sent Jesus to earth in human form because HE thought that the people here would be more inclined to listen and hear HIS message / rules that Father's lay out to their children. God went above and beyond sending angels, messages, many Messengers, visions, miracles, raising the dead, curing the otherwise incurable, freeing Hebrew slaves, sent 10 Commandments, forgives, Apostles plus sending HIS ONLY son to make sure HIS message could not be misconstrued.
      AND ALL THESE YEARS LATER HIS message is STILL Not Plain. HE'S probably drumming HIS fingers on the table wondering why everything went completely over simple folk's heads. I wonder if HE knows HE's dealing with the 'No Child Left Behind' states of mindset?
      Sad to say, but, 'Out of sight, out of mind.'

    Another fantastic documentary from Simcha! I do have a problem with the title they give to Joseph though, adoptive father of Jesus. Not wishing to destroy anyones faith but as a Spiritualist we know only of the Law of Cause and Effect. As I described in my comment on Simcha’s documentary on the Arc of the covenant…God is perfect beyond our understanding. All was created by God including the Law that governs everything. If God has to step in to change stall or manipulate his own laws it means he is not perfect. Humans reproduce in the normal way. Jesus’ father was Joseph. To be a mother and a virgin is impossible, everything works according to its nature that is how God created it. The soul and spirit of the man Jesus was also there by the nature of cause and effect it just happens that this spirit was the greatest to ever have been in earth…then or since. It comes down to a simple understanding, if God has to alter his own laws then he cannot be perfect and all knowing and thus cannot be a God. If however once the laws have been created and everything works to its own nature then God is perfect. Either this idea makes sense or it doesn’t. Also the idea of the virgin birth and the Trinity was proposed and accepted at the Council of Nicaea, as I understand it…maybe I’m wrong in this.
    That aside ….Tremendous work Simcha, thank you.

    Great film, one major question and few smaller ones... How do you explain that the James ossuary is inscribed in a different font type than the others? The James inscription seems to be a more modern version on Hebrew letters. Additionally why did you not do DNA testing on all of the remains? If they tested mitochondria to ensure Jesus and Mariamne weren't maternally related, wouldn't you use the same test to see that Jesus and the brother were in fact related?

    • @OnlyOneG-d
      @OnlyOneG-d ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Some of my thoughts exactly. I'm not buying it🙄
      Also, why no ossuary of Joseph the man that raised Jesus. Why only the one inscribed Jesus, son of Joseph, and the one of Maria or Mary not inscribed mother of Jesus.
      And why not inscribe it... The Messiah, Son of God? He's dead, what can they do? 🤔
      Because he wasn't The Messiah 😊 Jesus did nothing that the Messiah is supposed to do.
      Like the one guy said, "Far fetched."
      Buuut...
      Maybe it was Jesus's own family tomb, him his wife Mary Magdalena and sons. The gospel writers never said he wasn't married. People just assume it. Being married and having a family isn't a sin it's actually a Commandment from HASHEM. Jesus was supposed to be raised Jewish. 🤷‍♀️

Got to be either fanatic or symple minded to consider any truth in this other than desperate to prove Jesus is just a man and finally in their own Jewish History why and what was written why they crusified Jesus for comparison what the Christian churches claim
