Brandy has a pure an unmatched gift that belongs in the same lane as the greats. Her career has not reached its full potential for whatever reason but there is definitely no question to her true raw talent. I believe that she will eventually get to where she needs to go and now that female singer's are making ratchet booty popping music she is needed even more.

what a shame i couldn't even watch the interview because he was sitting in the chair rocking like he didn't know he was sitting in front of an icon...his lack of interest and his obvious lack of home training killed that interview..he should have sat up and someone should haved to him to sit up right...ill etiquette is common amongst black people though..especially black men..

I feel like all this talk in the air about _folks cain't sing anymore_ is making these young artists riff & run on every single word of the song. It's so unnecessary. Hell, sometimes it doesn't even make sense or fit the melody. When Johnny Gill and them were doin' it, it made sense and it worked. I think Kelly Price's vocal gymnastics are insane. I _cain't_ even keep up w/ what she's doing sometimes. Sharde's music is therapy. I've never looked to her for vocal gymnastics. H.E.R. is simple. She's coo', but I don't feel anything. You either have H.E.R.'s style of singing which is very minimal or you have that Queen Naija style of singing which is very auto-tuned pitched, whiny and unpleasant. This generation is more simple. They don't do all that hoopin' & hollerin' and carryin' on because they don't know how to. Singing is elongated speech. It's a gift that you're born with. Mr. Norwood taught you how to sing a cappella, Sis, so you'll always be okay. When the electricity cuts off, you'll always be okay. Standards done dropped so low nowadays it's pathetic.

Brandy is a true talent.., also beyond her singing ability is her talent for audio soundscape, she imbues her music with this ethereal, otherworldly mood by virtue of her harmonies and arrangements. Brandy’s music is made with a level of craft that is rare these days, even with some of the most popular of black entertainers.
