Man that car is SHARP! I had a 71 and it's weird how few are being run. Subbing to see all the wrinkles ironed out with the engine. I swear they look like fighter jets on the runway...
I have a 72 charger project and search alot of 71/72 videos so i guess thats why im just now finding your channel. Im stoked- theres like 20 3rd gen charger drag cars on earth and i think you have one of 3? Channels.
I'm so thankful that you are running a 3rd generation Charger. I try to watch every video that you have. If you ever find yourself in Kentucky, you'll have a friend here.
The hard core mopar fans are the ones that like my car the least 😂 cant keep everyone happy. This next time at the track is finally gonna be a clean run 👍
See if you can find an old Torker or TM6 (Tarantula) intake. Your boost should supplant the need for a dual plane intake and you'll get better fuel distribution. The converter will compliment the single-plane intake even more. Those intakes are relatively low rise, so you can play around with spacers to increase the plenum volume, if needed (maybe not with a 361 but you never know with your good heads and boost!!
@@nightwrencherperformance They do show up frequently on Ebay for decent prices. The TM6 is really the better piece, with a bigger plenum and larger cross-section runners. Many people market their TM6 as a "Torker" but the actual Torker has a big rectangular nameplate on the runners, where the TM6 just has "Edelbrock" script and a small "TM6" on it, no Tarantula spider. If you can't find a TM6, a spacer and some porting can achieve the same results with a Torker, but on the 361, the Torker may be adequate as-is.
Nothing, I just ran it exactly how it was. I already knew the engine was burning oil so that let me know the rings were already worn enough for boost. The stock cast pistons don't like boost but they wont break if you have a safe tune.
Cool cars something isn’t right with them both for the charger it seems tune related a rear gear might help and use a msd two step to launch it will change your 60 foot drastically
You're right. My box has a 2 step feature but the converter stalls me at 1600rpm. Foot to the floor, the turbo doesnt build more than 3psi. As soon as I let off the brake, the car barely scoots until I'm above 3k rpm and then it starts to party. The next step for me is a 3400 stall converter. After we see what it does, we can decide what to do next 👍
Its called Petty Blue and the hood is the stock flat hood with a 3inch cowl scoop riveted on top. You can buy the fiberglass versions of the hoos that have the scoop built in.
@brawler1997-v6t i'm running a CD-1 so its all electronic with no vacuum advance. It depends on what youre running for total timing but typically the stock routing is ported but a lot of people like manifold. If your ignition timing is set, try plugging the advance to manifold vacuum to see if RPM goes up. If it does, leave it there.
Special thanks to all the guys who loaned me footage at the track 👊 Links to their channels in the desceiption!
Nice video, thanks for the mention!
Can't wait for our run 👍
Keep it going bro! Ford fan!
I appreciate it man 👍

I really appreciate it! These cars have some real nice angles, its just a little hard to find them sometimes 😂

Sweet, I appreciate it! I personally like the 71-72 over the 73+ but it does has its charm

I really appreciate it! Thank you!
Night and day with a good converter.
Without I doubt 👍
thats a cool looking car. im sure you have some die hards mopar guys squrming around but stay on it. Stay gold pony boy and get a clean run

Turn up the boost my 305 went a best of 14.1
If I can shave my 60 down from 2.8 to 1.8, that should get me into the 13s. After that just got keep turning it up to go faster!
Waiting to see what that new converter is gonna do
You and me both 😂
You've come a long way brother.Amazing what you've accomplished with a 361.Your stamina is to be appreciated.
I really appreciate it man 👍 thanks for the encouragement 👊

Exactly what I was thinking! I'm actually on the hunt for an intake right now!

What did you do two the bottom end eny gaping rings or enthing

Thank looking at doing the same
Maybe I am asking for too much, but I watched the whole video hoping it would at least be faster than a new V6 Camry
It technically is, but because it take 3 seconds to get moving, the times are pretty slow
👍💪. 🎉
Its getting there!

come on fellas that thing should be going 100mph in the 1/8 not in the 1/4. 🙃
😂 baby steps. I'll have to hit you up once I'm making some real power
U 3800 stall
Definately needs it. Its got a stock 1600 stall with a decent cam
What color is ur car i want to paint it like that alsp what hood u have on ther i also have a 73 charger 340 it's badass

@@nightwrencherperformance hey wat u running ported vacume or manifold lmk idk which one to hook it up to I have a 340

@@nightwrencherperformance hey I have a question so I have a 73 charger 340 Magnum timing is 15 degrees after tdc it runs bad what should timing be ?
@brawler1997-v6t is that 15 degrees at idle or total? Where in the RPM range does the car run bad?
