You’re doing great with Marshall . I remember when we brought our black lab puppy home . It was madness , tiring, completely altered the house like your lovely dog has and we thought OMG what have we done !! But we loved her so much! Twelve years later she’s our lives she is everything to us the most caring loyal kind and wonderful beautiful dog . Enjoy him like we have ours . Love to you both x
Thanks Tracy. Lovely stories like this that many of you have shared with us have given us comfort for sure - so thank you for sharing. Always great to hear a success story. 🥰
My dog has dairy all the time , most mornings she finishes my kids porridge (made with milk) ...she wont take a flea tablet so i usually end up coating it in diarylea spreadable soft cheese 🙂....good luck with marshall , hes gorgeous - he has 2 lovely dads!
Hello you too I see Marshall is getting bigger and beautiful like his beautiful parents that are beautiful not getting bigger lol you 2 are doing a fabulous job ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Keep up the good work, it is hard at times with a puppy…also sometimes very frustrating, but he will come good. One bit of advice is make sure you both are using the same words/instructions/commands/actions, this avoids confusion and faster learning for Mr Marshall. 💙
Marshall is gorgeous.. I can see from another comment that you are not keen to let him on the lawn. However, he may be struggling with distinguishing the difference between the patio slab and the tiles in your kitchen. The texture is the same. Maybe consider letting on the lawn for his toileting it may help with toilet training.. Good luck xx
So cute ❤ our GR has cheese with his tea every day, he’s raw fed. He has a slice of wholemeal toast with breakfast😊 he went through a phase of having a mug of warm milky tea in the morning. Never had a problem with poops since he’s been raw fed, he had terrible ones with kibble. Bitey phase will pass but it’s necessary. GR’s are mobile waste disposal units😂 they’ll snaffle up anything they can find. Very intelligent, very stubborn 😂😂😂 very loving❤
Really appreciate all of the info and intel in this comment! Thank you so much. Good to know that your GR has had no lactose reaction. We were expecting to have to pay the cheese tax but have escaped so far - although the carrot tax has been hitting us hard!
@@MrDavidMrIanour boy also loves a full roast dinner, a little too much 😂 the only carrot tax we get is orange poop the next day!!! He also loves steamed broccoli, sprouts, parsnips and cooked chicken (some grs can’t tolerate chicken, so be careful to begin with) If he does ever get the squirts, a miracle cure is original chappie, in whatever quantity he’s allowed at the time. Get a few cans in ( Jolleyes) anyway as a once a week/fortnight break from raw.
Oooooh the puppy days🤦🏻♀️. I have to say, as adorable as your little one is I do not envy you 😂. 2 1/2 yrs ago I was a first time puppy mum and for the first month I thought what the hell have I done! I even cried through sleep deprivation and not understanding why he CONSTANTLY bit, chewed and even hated going for a walk. Even getting him to eat was a massive struggle. That said , he’d eat ANYTHING he shouldn’t! I honestly thought I would never bond with him. NOW, George is the love of my life, he’s wonderful and could never imagine my life without him. Having a puppy is very hard and is a real learning curve. I’d know what to expect now (if I had another 😁) and how to train. Your both doing great from what I can see and his a lucky pup to have 2 such loving dads. Oh, and cheese tax is a thing! We have to pay it at least once a day 😂 xx
Awww, thank you Sue. It’s reassuring that so many people in the comments went through the same challenges and pain (literally, with those shark teeth). Can empathise with the sleep deprivation and tears too! Glad you and George have come out the other side xx
Puppies are SOOOO naughty……this is why they are made SOOOO cute! 😂😂It takes me back to training our two….though to be honest I think they ended up training us in the end! 🤔All your hard work, lack of sleep, lack of intact shoes, clothes and hands…….will all pay dividends in the long run!! xxx
My Jack Russell is 19 years old and gets walked 4 times daily which contributes to the health of his 76 year old human companion. So, the point is, you will be more active for the next 15 years, at least. Also, less fixated on food.😘
All of our dogs have been dairy fiends… they were spaniels (all now over the rainbow). Our cocker could hear the lid come off a yoghurt pot from a thousand yards and the cheese tax was paid every time any human ate cheese. Thanks for sharing Mr Marshall with us. What a fabulous family you make ❤
He sounds just like my labrador wait til he learns to dig the garden! Honestly though mine has cheese with her tablets or she spits them out! She only gets tummy trouble when she's ill & just feet chicken & boiled rice!
We did give him poached chicken and boiled rice at Christmas, Vicky, when he had bad guts 🤮 And we are putting off introducing him to the garden til it’s dried out (and we’ve got ride of the deadly hellebores and the brambles in the lawn 🤦🏼♂️)
@@MrDavidMrIan my lab Olive spits the rice out! Hope his tummy is feeling better? They are such great companions and make you laugh every day! Sounds like your doing a great job with Marshall :)
My black Labrador had a little bit of milk with water on Rice Krispies for breakfast everyday, it never affected his poos Also I used to coat his worm tablets with dairylea, if I put it in ham or anything else, he used to spit the tablet out & eat the ham etc 😂🙄 Unfortunately we lost my beautiful boy in June, he was 13 😢 so had a good long life….still miss him everyday 💔🌈 Marshall is gorgeous 💙
Sorry to hear that, Penny. We still miss Ollie, our cat, 8 years later, so we know your pain. 😢 🫂 And good to know about your experience with milk and your boy x
Loving Marshall, most dogs are fine with a small bit of dairy. My 2 love whipped cream or a pupcup from Starbucks. Please don’t give him rawhide that is extremely bad for dogs. The extreme bitting etc normal means they are over stimulated and needs a nap. Crate training is amazing and gives them somewhere safe to go and it will become a safe space.
Thanks Pauline. We’d heard about the issues with rawhide. And good to know about the pupcups. We feel like we didn’t do the crate training enough and now he’s too big for the current one, and the other one we have is so huge we’re not sure where it would go 🤦🏼♂️🤷🏼♂️
I give my dog cheese - the only time it led to an upset tummy was when my husband's uncle overheard me say he liked cheese, and he fed him so much it caused the problem. A small bit to hide a tablet in is not a problem for us. (Honestly, never heard that dogs are lactose intolerant before. I thought that was just cats? But I could be wrong.) I think your Marshall vlogs are fast becoming my favourite ones. So much joy to counteract any negativity in the world.
So….my neighbour who has a Goldie (and I’ve done it with Wellington as well) when they won’t drink much will put a small amount of milk in a bowl with water to get them to drink something.
I have a 2 year old kelpie (Australian working dog) I give her doggie yoghurt with her breakfast it is lactose free don’t know if it’s available in the U.K. Also for training used chicken loaf (tiny bits) as rewards. Good luck ❤️
Hello, I’ve only discovered your channel through Disney vlogs however we got a golden retriever two weeks ago and we are going through exactly all these stages at the moment, I’m really hoping as I watch more that the shark biting has stopped, we’re living your puppy time life right now 😂 🤯and I can so relate to this 🙈

@@MrDavidMrIanI’d recommend Zac George’s videos on puppy biting here on TH-cam. Spraying them with water is not a great solution because you want to be teaching them how to use their mouths gently.
