Lately and unconsciously, I have been doing more of your bonus suggestion of smiling more, which has been helpful to say the least. There were many more Dharma nuggets I will have to highlight later, as I need to get to work. Thank you for sharing your wisdom and experiences🧘‍♂🧘‍♂🙏🙏

Absolutely love you. I have been watching your videos at least once a day sometimes more. I am a 71 year old female and had been trying to get out of a severe depression. Watching, studying and practicing what you teach has changed me . I feel I am in a new beginning. Spent almost 6 weeks in detaching myself from material things. I found that what I own is connected to my past. As a let go of things I let go of the emotions that I no longer need. Today I realest myself from the past by letting go of about 500 items. My apartment now is less chaotic . I is a new journey for me. The you are with me. Thank me you !

*These words are not mine.* These are the words the Ruach HaKodesh (YAHUAH's Set-Apart Spirit) uttered through me when I prayed to YAHUAH; asking him what *he wants* me to say, knowing the truth.
"Know that YAHUAH is the name of the Most High and YAHUsha is the name of The Son.
Come out of her, my people, who have fallen into her deceit. Who know not my name and say they love me. I have made myself known. I have heard you and I am here.
There are many who are yours to be saved. I am he who knows all that you are. Come to me, here are they who are mine. Make haste to come, here are we. Give in to them who speak of me, they are yours. I am here for you. Know that all is for them, here are we.
Give not to them that are against me. I am he who sees all you do. Come to me out of her, all are here for me. Do what I say. Out of her, come. All are here."
      Exodus 3:13-15 KJV
13 And Moses said unto God, Behold, when I come unto the children of Israel, and shall say unto them, The God of your fathers hath sent me unto you; and they shall say to me, What is his name? what shall I say unto them?
14 And God said unto Moses, I Am That I Am: and he said, Thus shalt thou say unto the children of Israel, I Am hath sent me unto you.
15 And God said moreover unto Moses, Thus shalt thou say unto the children of Israel, the Lord God of your fathers, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob, hath sent me unto you: this is my name for ever, and this is my memorial unto all generations.
      John 5:43 KJV
43 *I am come in my Father's name,* and ye receive me not: *if another shall come in his own name, him ye will receive.*
      2 Corinthians 6:17 KJV
17 Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and *touch not the unclean thing;* *and I will receive you.*
      Isaiah 52:6-7 KJV
6 Therefore my people shall know my name: therefore they shall know in that day that I am he that doth speak: behold, it is I.
7 How beautiful upon the mountains are the feet of him that bringeth good tidings, that publisheth peace; that bringeth good tidings of good, that publisheth salvation; that saith unto Zion, Thy God reigneth!
      2 Corinthians 6:1-2 KJV
1 We then, as workers together with him, beseech you also that ye receive not the grace of God in vain.
2 (For he saith, I have heard thee in a time accepted, and in the day of salvation have I succoured thee: behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation.)
      Romans 10:1-3 KJV
1 Brethren, my heart's desire and prayer to God for Israel is, that they might be saved.
2 For I bear them record that they have a zeal of God, but not according to knowledge.
3 For they being ignorant of God's righteousness, and going about to establish their own righteousness, have not submitted themselves unto the righteousness of God.
      Romans 10:13-17 KJV
13 For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.
14 *How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? and how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear without a preacher?*
15 *And how shall they preach, except they be sent?* as it is written, *How beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace, and bring glad tidings of good things!*
16 But they have not all obeyed the gospel. *For Esaias saith,* Lord, *who hath believed our report?*
17 *So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.*
      Nahum 1:7 KJV
7 The Lord is good, a strong hold in the day of trouble; and *he knoweth them that trust in him.*
      Hebrews 3:15 KJV
15 *While it is said, To day if ye will hear his voice, harden not your hearts, as in the provocation.*
      Isaiah 52:11 KJV
11 *Depart ye, depart ye, go ye out from thence, touch no unclean thing;* go ye out of the midst of her; be ye clean, that bear the vessels of the Lord.
      John 14:15 KJV
15 *If ye love me, keep my commandments.*

This might be the greatest Dhamma talk I've listened to.
    Thank you.
    As for smiling:
    Smiling helps you relax.
A pleasant smile is attractive. When you smile, you do not look intimidating.
Smiling makes you look friendly. People will be less afraid to approach you. They will be more comfortable with you than they would be with someone who wears a serious (possibly judgmental) expression.
Smiling doesnt mean leering or grimacing creepily. It means looking pleasant, happy and relaxed. It makes you approachable.
When you smile, you look confident. People will listen to you and trust you more when you express confidence with a kind smile.
    Again, thank you, Phra Nick..

Carry an Amulet. I have been wearing a cross on a necklace for 15 to 20 years and out of habit, I subconsciously touch it to bring me back to myself. It was something back then to help me center when things went bad or negative. Very good tip to help center yourself. Thank you, Venerable Nick. 😄

Practicing gratitude resonates deeply with me. A few years ago, I started writing down 3 things I can be grateful for every morning and it changed my life and the way I perceive the world. It also changed my own projections onto the world. I practice in keeping mindful of the 8 tools you've given, bringing myself back time and time again, plus realizing that living in the slow and gentle lane has become precious to me. Thank you so much for sharing your journey and the helpful practices I can use in mine. Love and harmony to you Dear Nick!

Thank you so much for this video. I recently moved, and in the store I saw a couple of Monks. I Googled and found we have a couple of centers where I live and I started going to talks and meditations. Then, the universe sent me you and your teachings. My mind has always been a tornado. For the past three months, my mind has been much more calm, and I am much more relaxed and peaceful.
I’m still learning how not to react at silly things, but I’ve had a lot of trauma and I’m working through it little by little. I took notes, I’m going to do the three day home retreat, and keep learning.
Thank you, Venerable Nick! Thank your brothers also!

This video was absolutely a message directed to ME. 😁 I was walking around my house for the past couple of hours being so frustrated with my chronic nerve pain, with my totally negative living environment and just feeling overwhelmed. I pick up my phone to look at TH-cam while I am on my heating pad for a bit. HERE YOU ARE on my Homescreen with exactly the message/teaching I needed.
    AWESOME!
You’re such a wonderful beautiful person Venerable Nick!
Thank You for sharing your goodness with all of us!!!❤😊🧘‍♀️🙏
I wanted to add that, for the past 7 years we have lived next door to my in-laws. There is the heaviest negativity I have ever felt here. It was here when we moved here, I could FEEL IT. Now, it’s completely overwhelming and I am looking for something to permanently HELP me to survive this. I have thought some very ugly thoughts lately because I feel trapped in a body filled with pain and a horrible environment too.
Looking for this to help with meditation! ❤

    Dear Venerable Sir,
I am currently in bed sick with the Flu. And, i got inspired to ask this question: could you please make a video giving wisdom on how to deal with being sick (temporarily or long-term) and/or how to use wisdom to cope when a loved one is sick--but you are well.
Because everyone is subject to illness, i think it will be great to hear your thoughts and wisdom about this topic.
Many thanks for all the wisdom. May you and all sentient beings be well.

Venerable Nick this is outstanding teaching. When you were talking about being grateful and living in gratitude it reminded me that not only is gratefulness necessary for but also not caring what other people think about you because you will have anxiety try to live up to what others think of you also understanding our mortality that we brought nothing into the world and we will carry nothing out but having food and covering being content.

Hello Nick, I just wanted to tell you about my experience with "The Buddhist Cleanse". I have done it this week, with 2 modifications to the rules because of health reasons: I must eat every 2 hours, so I changed it to not eat out of boredom. I also allowed myself to lay down on a high surface because I tend to overexert myself otherwise and not rest enough, but I disallowed doing that out of boredom just to pass time.
I discovered that time went more slowly for me. Previously I always had the impression time is gone too soon, I don't get stuff done in a day. But I think I was just sucked in by technology and entertainment, then unsatisfied with what I accomplished. During the cleanse day I cleaned the whole flat and still had time after that.
I have trouble with fatique since 2 years due to long COVID and POTS, so I need to rest a lot, especially when standing for a while. That in turn makes me feel bad because I cannot do as much as I want to in the house that involves having to stand. But the "boring" rest without entertainment during is more beneficial for me than binge watching movies, and as dicovered during the cleanse, I still can do more than I thought.
Anyways, thank you very much for your advice and guidance. I will use this knowledge from now on by restricting the times I watch movies and TH-cam to the evening hours.

The joy of following a Teacher is amazing. I worship God but to have a living teacher is such a different experience. It is like having a living encyclopaedia that I can tap on. Of cos I need to do my training also.

Ever since I learned about the dhamma.. I wanted to engage in buddhism even more but there were times Im conflicted because Im a Christian and I couldnt leave that behind.. then I learned that gold is gold no matter where you find it.. and the teachings of the Buddha is definitely real gold.. I still keep my christian faith and use the dhamma as a tool to create a structure.. good thing about catholicism is that they recognize that other religions also contain true and holy elements (rays of the same truth) like interbeing

I get into my flow state when I practice music or painting. It often takes a few minutes of a warmup to get into it, but once I push past the days worries, I’m in the flow, as long as it’s not interrupted by calls or text messages. If I remember to do it, I put my phone in airplane mode during those times.

Nick, that’s awesome! Thank you so much for sharing this! When you started to talk about sweeping the forest I have to admit that I had to laugh at first. But when you talked about the effect it had on you I started to understand what my Tàijíquán practice is actually good for, even when I’m not motivated. It also includes a standing meditation but also routines that are practiced over and over again (the so-called forms) and I guess that it should have about the same effect as sweeping the forest. Now I have to admit that I still couldn’t figure out how to practice on a daily basis but I hope that I’ll get there someday.

Thank you Venerable Nick. The tip that resonated with me the most was seeing the good in what I do. I struggle with this a lot and mostly see myself as a failure, or not being good enough. I have tried many times to see the good but the negativity seems to always overpower any positivity. 🙏

It's a practice dear Andrew and it takes time. Keep on pushing. Negative thoughts is normal and we can concentrate on the few possitive thoughts we can produce. And take it easy on yourself. I'm a work in progress just like you.

Thank YOU for these Teachings.. very Helpful✨️
I have had a Practice most of my Life, of both Gratitude, & "Mindful chores".. I know the word "chores" has a negative connotation, so I call it "Home Making" or "Home Blessing". Even as a Child, I would Feel this, others would interrupt & ask, "Why are you smiling?" as I washed dishes or swept the floor😊 I didn't (don't) even realize I'm smiling, just enJOYing the act, grateful for the
meal I was cleaning up from, the warm Water on my hands, the smell of the soap.. "silly" little details😊 I especially enJOY painting walls (or a whole house!), I Feel I can solve all the World's problems after a few hours of painting 😄.
Your other tips, I do need to Work on, Thank YOU.
You mentioned Master Nun's Book, is that available for the public to read?
Again, Thank You, & Bless YOU & Yours.
    🙏🏼💙✌🏼💙✊🏼

All resonated, but right now here most practical with immediate effect: practice gratitude ; mindful chores. 🙏🍵 Some meditation, but doing chores can also become meditation.

Hi Nick, just wanted to say thank you for uploading here on youtube and sharing your wisdom. As a 26 year old guy i find it very easy to get lost in the materalistic world and to forget what is really important in life. Your videos always help me when I feel a bit overwhelmed and bring be peace and serenity. Buddhism isn't very popular in my country so I enjoy learning about it from you and other channels. Bless you my friend

    Blessings to you Ven Nick.
I pointed out to. Cousin the merits they shared w their community, fam & friends & to their religious/faith responsibilities. They pushed away the positive offering they gave through “good works” I pointed out.
I was disappointed that they did not accept their merits but I did my good deed to encourage. Hopefully they will come to accept how important even a string of small offerings are.
Thank you for sharing your important message w me/us.

It is such a blessing to have Teacher reminding me of homework in simple language.
Start of the day and I am so grateful to listen to dharma along with a simple cup of tea and bread 🍞for breakfast.
