This is absolutely perfect for us whom have a broken thermostat and are warm all the time. Finally I can wear something beautiful to church without smoothing. Thank you!
Hello, you are such a soft spoken tutorial person. I love what you do for us. This is my 4th shawl, and so far, you are the best. Thank you so much for this beautiful shawl.
I have made this shawl twice. Once in cotton and the other in acrylic. Both turned out beautiful. I am about to do it again in baby yarn for my MIL to pop on during cooler evenings but use a chained fringe instead of yarn strings. Thank you for a gorgeous pattern
Beautiful demonstration of the double magic circle! I must admit, it took me SEVERAL tries...okay, more than several...but your camera work is excellent and I eventually got it. Thanks especially for that. Although I am fairly new to assemblage of garments, I found much of the instructions to be too slow, but it is a beautiful garment and I look forward to finishing it!
I'm sorry Silver Rose, but, I for one would rather the instruction be slow and complete then to have to guess at what I need to do. You do realize that you can adjust the playback speed, right?
I saw this shawl on Pinterest (dangerous!!) and I fell in love with it but..... it looked waaaaay to complicated for me to attempt. I kept going back and back to just stare at it 'cause it is just so damn beautiful! Then I found your video. I've only watched the 1st part and am going to practice the circle thing cause you made it look less daunting. Thank you for the 1st part and I've saved 2-4 for later. Maybe just maybe this shawl will eventually be mine!!!
Janie, I had exactly the same reaction! Not only will this shawl be mine but it will be an awesome Christmas gift for my best friend first! So I'm going to make two and I'm not that experienced either. But, I am determined and I think with the tutorial it is possible.
Wonderful, I didn't know there was such a thing as a double magic ring, you make it so easy to follow, thank you 😊 I will definitely be making this shawl it's absolutely beautiful, I'm a newbie and have just subscribed 👌👍👋 thank you 😊 Carol
You are the first person I've seen that crochets like I do, as in how you hold your hook :) I've had to change up a bit though, because I have trigger thumb ugh.
OMG, I've been looking at this shawl to make as a gift for my best friend and just watched this first video. I started reading comments and yours jumped out at me! My best friends last name is BULLARD! Not a really common name! WOW, what a coincidence.
It was a tuff decision to make between amies embrase and this one to make over my weddingdress. But i will go with the Queen. Afther all at my wedding a will be a Queen 🤔🥰👍👍👍😊
I love the pattern even making now, but I did notice on the written directions on page 5 it says 79 full ones, however the pattern on the last page counts to 90 full ones. Not sure if its a typo or what. At this point I'm probably only going to go as far as a I can since this is my first big project. Which wouldn't be possible without these great videos. Thanks!
The pattern is very customizable. Make sure you stand up and see if you’re getting the length you want. Emma is very tall and designed it to be a big shawl. I am very small and it’s a blanket on me! Haha! The border will go with any number of motifs you choose to do.
Can you please explain how to make this into a rectangle for a throw please. It may be simple to do but I'm not sure I know how to get the sides straight. Thank you so much for your wonderful videos. They are very easy to follow.
Hello This is exciting. How can I see what the shawl looks like first. Also is there a written pattern. Thanks. Question. Is that yarn soft ? How many skeins did you need. Love shawls.
This is too advance for me. I’m just a beginner and slow. This is really beautiful, how I wish I can do this. But I’ll watch. It’s worth watching because the shawl is really really pretty 😍
I have tried to crochet this over and over again counting my stitiches diligently each time. Every time I get to round 4 i notice there is a fifth corner and i am forced to unravel and go back to the end of round 2 to start round 3 again. I count the clusters correctly each time. I have no idea what I am doing wrong.
I’m glad I spent 20 minutes crocheting before the first square before you mentioned it having to be blocked…🫠. Time to frog and find a new pattern. Beautiful pattern though 👍
Gorgeous shawl! I need a little more info on the yarn itself. I can't get that specific yarn locally, and if I was to order it, not only is the price of shipping nuts, but being in Canada, I'd also have to pay duty. Can you verify what size the yarn is so that I can substitute? I saw that it's a 4-ply cotton, but even their website doesn't give the size. Would you consider it fingering weight (1) or a sport weight (2)? It looks too thin to be a DK/Light weight (3). It's definitely not Medium (4).
It looks like an English 4ply to me but I have no idea of the equivalent yarn in the USA and Canada. It is thinner than a DK. We don't have our yarn graded by numbers here. It's hard for us to find the right yarn equivalent for the American system of a 4 or a 3 etc. It's a shame it's not standardised worldwide. The same with UK and USA terms.
Could you tell me, please, if a 4-ply acrylic yarn like Caron Simply Soft would work for this project? I know you said the cotton was used so it could be a summer shawl, but is that the only reason? Many thanks!
You could make it with whatever yarn you wish to. If you made it with CSS you’d not have to make as many motifs because the yarn is so much larger in weight than the 4 ply. I’d just watch that carefully as your shawl is growing to ensure you don’t end up making a blanket by mistake!
Very lovely shawl. These motifs can be attached for a rectangular shawl? The triangle motifs and fringe would still be needed. Great tutorial. Thank you 😊
The pattern designer used the same yarn and said she made about 13 motifs with each ball. All together you need enough for 70 motifs and for the lacey border.
I'm looking to see if I can find a blocking tutorial for this series and I don't see one. Are you going to be making one? Please say yes lol I don't wanna start making this one and not know how to block it. Thanks a bunch in advance and thank you very much for these tutorials!
Hello Deborah. I did not make a tutorial on blocking it because there are so many tutorials out there for blocking already. It isn't that hard to do! I promise. If you're on Facebook you can join the It's Crochet O'Clock Facebook group and we'd be happy to help you through the process.
Can you please let me know how much yarn I need to make this shawl? How many yards or grams/ounces are in each skein of yarn ? I am not that advanced to figure it out for myself😔. This is beautiful and as soon as I receive an answer from you I can get busy crocheting it. Thank you
Hello Deirdre! The designer of the pattern used 10 balls of Stylecraft Classique, I used 12 as our tensions are different. Each ball is 1.75 oz and 182 meters. I hope this helps!
Everybody going on about the dbl magic ring and I'm still completely clueless as to how to do the next part talked about at the end. How in the heck am I supposed to do R's 1, 2, & 3 around this square??!! Instead of spending time doing 7 dbl's, 7 ch's, and 7 dbl's again, I would have rather watched how to do the halfway around part because video 2 jumps off from there with no explaination in either video on how to do it! So I'm sitting here with a pretty little square which is pretty much wasted yarn because I can't continue with this pattern. Sigh.
It is extremely nice to work with. It's not rough on your hands at all. If you're not used to working with thinner yarns it does take a bit for your hands to get adjusted but once they do you're golden!
How do you join the squares if you’ve made a bunch already? I didn’t realize at the end of the first video that I wasn’t suppose to finish the corner. Oops
Visit the link in the description box and you’ll see a great deal of the project. This was done as a crochet along and this was only the first part of it. There are several other videos for this project that show it as it progresses.
This is absolutely perfect for us whom have a broken thermostat and are warm all the time. Finally I can wear something beautiful to church without smoothing. Thank you!
Thank you for showing the double loop! I have heard about it, but this is the first I have seen it. I love the shawl and planning on making this.
FINALLY, someone explains the magic/double magic ring (didn't even know existed). Thank you for all of your patience, explanations & live chats! 🧶💜
Thanks for an amazing tutorial...i never could close the magic ring now your tutorial has made things clear...beautiful shawl
OMGOSH how Cool is the double magic ring!!!! I’ve never seen that before 😃.
This is looking like a stunning project. Thank you for sharing this with us all. Looking forward to part 2
What a beautiful shawl! I thought crochet was a lost art! I'm so glad I found you youtube channel!
It’s more alive than ever!!
Hello, you are such a soft spoken tutorial person. I love what you do for us. This is my 4th shawl, and so far, you are the best. Thank you so much for this beautiful shawl.
Thank you. Living in the tropics this will suit my lifestyle beautifully. I can't wait to start on this beautiful shawl.

Is it very heavy with acrylic yarn? I want to make this but can’t get the cotton yarn she’s using at all! ❤
Absolutely beautiful, clear and visible instructions. love it.
I hope you enjoy making it Skylark!
Thank you I’ve just started making this and you’ve made it really easy to understand 👍👍
The best tutorial EVER! Your instructions are EXCELLENT! Thanks a lot! 🌹🙏🏻🕊❤️😇

I love the way you explain the tutorials.
Wow I like the way you do that starter ring. I couldn't remember how to do it
I have never seen or heard of a double magic ring, but Im going to be using it alot now !!!
....
Just saw this its one of the most beautiful patterns I have seen...I have the yarn- a smokey grey....
Thank you for the tutorial. You have a wonderful way of explaining as going along. I plan on making this along with you.
This is my Mother’s Day present it’s Thursday right before Mother’s Day I hope I can get it done! This is really beautiful!
I might try this in stylecraft acrylic dk because it’s what I have on hand, plus a 5mm hook. This is really lovely.
How beautiful! This would make a nice rectangular shawl or shrug too!
I used the pattern in sparkle crochet thread and made a bedspread. Gorgeous

Hi I was able to get the pattern thank you !!
You are the first person I've seen that crochets like I do, as in how you hold your hook :) I've had to change up a bit though, because I have trigger thumb ugh.
I am so sorry to hear. That doesnt sound fun at all.
Not really but I'm still crocheting lol. One day I'll be able to get it fixed :)

This is beautiful!
Hello
This is exciting. How can I see what the shawl looks like first. Also is there a written pattern. Thanks.
Question.
Is that yarn soft ? How many skeins did you need.
Love shawls.
The magic ring is simply a loosey goosey slip knot. When you realize that, all else follows.
I thought maybe the description box would have links to all the other videos related to this one
This is too advance for me. I’m just a beginner and slow. This is really beautiful, how I wish I can do this. But I’ll watch. It’s worth watching because the shawl is really really pretty 😍
Hi,i have a question: If i want to make this beautiful shawl just with one color, how can i do it?Thank you, from Italy
Wow....... that's amazing
You are amazing! Thank you so much
Very pretty!
THAT IS SO LOVELY
Beautiful!!! I like a lot !!!
Gorgeous 🥰
How much yard do I need for this pattern?
I have tried to crochet this over and over again counting my stitiches diligently each time. Every time I get to round 4 i notice there is a fifth corner and i am forced to unravel and go back to the end of round 2 to start round 3 again. I count the clusters correctly each time. Its a fingering, mercerized cotton!
Thanks! I figured that's what it was, but I just wanted to be sure.
How many yards of yarn did you use?
I would love to crochet this shawl how much yarn in total was used to create this shawl
❤️ Love this, thank you ❤️
Mam how many motifs can we do for making a shawl
Can you use a darker background?
جميل جدااا 👍🏼👍🏼بليز بليز نطلب الترجمه الي العربي
Is this yarn a light weight (3) or sport weight (2)?
Part1 done, will start Part 2 tomorrow.

how many of 5 chaines I must do because at the end does not much
Very lovely shawl. These motifs can be attached for a rectangular shawl? The triangle motifs and fringe would still be needed. Great tutorial. Thank you 😊
I'm sure you could if you chose to do so!
I only 425mm hook 3.75mm hook too
Can you make this without the magic ring
You can but it will look different. Chain 4 and close with a slip stitch.
I love magic rings but never heard of double rings, I'll have to try it for this project.
How many skeins do you need of that yarn
You’ll need to check the written pattern. It has been a very long time since I filmed this I am afraid I don’t remember.
The pattern designer used the same yarn and said she made about 13 motifs with each ball. All together you need enough for 70 motifs and for the lacey border.
Do you block each square before the joining part or the entire shawl when completed?
Block once completed
Thanks so much! And thanks for the great tutorial and video!! ⭐️❤️
They are out of stock on the ivory. :( I want to make one with ivory and lavendar.
Boooooooo!
-Steathily just uses normal chain ring and uses a yarn needle to pull the center closed after.-
>_.>;
I can't find written pattern
Love it. I see parts 3 & 4, but not 2☹️😟😟
I see it, she worded it queen gypsy instead of gypsy queen.
Problem ! your dc. is my tr. Will have to convert all stitches so as I can understand them. Dying to start this beautiful shawl.
So sorry Susan. I crochet in US terms.
How many skeins of yarn you used?
The designer of the pattern used 10 balls of Stylecraft Classique, I used 12 as our tensions are different.
I used 10 balls of the recommended yarn. Good to note that the fringe takes two balls so you need extra of the chosen colour for the fringe.
I’m confused - you say to weave in the ends but then you say not to...or vice versa...do we weave in ends or no? Everything else is clear ☺️
I'm looking to see if I can find a blocking tutorial for this series and I don't see one. Are you going to be making one? Please say yes lol I don't wanna start making this one and not know how to block it. Thanks a bunch in advance and thank you very much for these tutorials!

Fingering

Yes, you need to chain seven for each corner space.
Is it nice to work with. I've been thinking of getting some on my next order from wool warehouse.
It is extremely nice to work with. It's not rough on your hands at all. If you're not used to working with thinner yarns it does take a bit for your hands to get adjusted but once they do you're golden!

Undo just the portion of the last round that you need and attach them as the pattern calls for.

I have tried the link to the Clover Soft Touch Hook. It takes me to other Clover products, but not the hook. Just FYI ??
