    Thank you Jonna.... your demonstration, explanations and the speed at which you do the crochet ... all very good. I was only confused right at the beginning in the third row where I was going to end up with possibly 26 'posts' rather than 13, but after watching carefully, I understood what you were doing.!

    Loved your tutorial, very easy to follow along! I'm almost finished making this shawl, I used yarn I had on hand which was Landscapes Desert Spring, but have run out so just ordered some more and two Caron Cakes as well to make another that will look just like yours as I think the pattern gets lost a bit in the Landscapes Desert Spring colors of my current yarn. Still pretty, but I really like the way the pattern jumps out at you with the color you used. Looking forward to more tutorials!!

      I came to the comments to see if anyone had done this in a variegated yarn. I'm afraid that the color changes are taking away from the pretty work, and I'm not sure if I should finish it! I know your comment is a year old but... hey😁 you have a picture?

    • @Krissyrocksoutloud
      @Krissyrocksoutloud 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@valeriedenny4882 I haven't made this specific pattern but if you're going to use a variegated yarn, I recommend using a slow change yarn such as an ombre. The slow color changes look so nice but don't distract from the intricate patterns. I made the virus shawl using scheepjes whirl and it looks beautiful, the pattern is still the star but the colors are so nice. That's just my recommendation though. Maybe try the red heart ombre?

    Somehow I only got 6 groups of clusters for rows 7 and 8. I'm using a 5 mm hook and size 4 yarn. I'm not sure if or where I went wrong yet I don't think I'm unraveling those rows....lol. I'm enjoying making it.

    Hi, I really loveee this pattern and the yarn I tried to make it with wasn't the exact medium you're using, so it came out small. Please tell me the exact size 😢🫶🏻

    Hi Jonna. I love this gorgeous shawl. I got the same Caron Cake colour as your vid and using 6mm hook but the first colour doesn't last long till row 10. So I tried with 5.5mm hook, same result, and I'm guessing my tension is not good even though I tightened the chains. This is my 3rd try with 6mm again and I am doing colour control. Thank you so much for this amazingly easy to follow shawl.

    I love this shawl 💖. Very beautiful when it's done. I made one for my mom , she really likes it but because she is so tall she asked me if it was possible if I can make it longer.
    If u have any suggestions on how to make it longer, it would be greatly appreciated.
    Thank U😊

      +Deena Baessler I have not done it, but when the pattern closes and opens the pineapples this row you would try to repeat.
      I know some ladies were going to try it. I haven't heard or seen how it went.
      I'm so happy you liked the video and your mom likes the shawl.

      im trying to figure out how to extend it i was thinking maybe more rows once you start the pettals im not really sure as not got there yet

    • @linchandley2734
      @linchandley2734 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      i am repeating the 4th row which is dc chain 3 to the end for a few more or desired length as im guessing it will add legth measure one you have allready made then add on to the length to the start of the 4th row onwards then carry on with the pattern before you start the petals and pineapples! hope this works as im just trying as i go and i am slow crocheter so if anyone is faster and they try this let me know but this is the only way i think that you can extend in length give it a go

    Thank you for creating such an easy to follow video! I'm currently working this along with the video using a caron cake that's thinner and a smaller hook and it is coming along beautifully! I'm define going to post it on instagram when I'm finished. (And of course give credit to you and the author of the pattern!

    • @Amy_The_unbearded
      @Amy_The_unbearded 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      The only concern I have is that I am using a skinny cake and a d hook so I am worried it may not be quite big enough and am not sure what to do about that. I'm hoping it'll be big enough and I won't have to worry!

    I have recently subscribed and I am very pleased with how you explain your patterns. Could you please for this pattern explain at what rows you can increase to make it larger thanks.

    • @JonnaMartinezCrochet
      @JonnaMartinezCrochet  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Unfortunately I cannot suggest what rows to increase because I have not yet done it myself.
      But if you did go about it, you would increase the pineapples again.
      As you see they get bigger as you go, so you would just keep going with that.
      Thank you for watching, commenting and subscribing!
      I hope you enjoy making this shawl!
