That DEFINITELY LOOKED like a tech rehearsal. I hope it improves. There's some phenomenal potential, but there's some serious flaws that need to be fixed and pumped up in order for this to be a long-lasting addition to the likes of Waterworld.

Went on this blind, and was so amazed. I've seen Terminator in person, and was a big fan for years of the attraction, but this was just beyond belief. My father and I were watching the show in awe.
Just saw it today for the first time... and this was hands down the most COOL and BEST show eeeeevvvrr. I was pissed the whole time since it replaced it terminator but from the moment it started i was mind blown. That slow motion part was so bad ass
It took me four tries to get into this lmao. The first time we were cut off from the line (the people in front of us were let in and we were stopped), the second time we got there 30 minutes prior but they were still full, the third time we made it to the room before the actual showroom, waited 45 minutes, and were told that it was having technical difficulties. We finally got in on our fourth try, but during that show they had technical issues and had to stop the show twice. I finally got to see it without stopping today and I was really impressed. Probably one of the best shows in any park I’ve been to.
You know, I gotta be honest. I love Jason Bourne and the mixing between live action and screen was very impressive; it was hard to tell where the screen ended and the real set began. But I would be lying if I said I wasn't kind bored by the whole thing. I get they need to introduce people that aren't familiar with the character/franchise but the pre-show felt way too long. The show itself has kinda ho-hum. The action was fun in spots and the slow-mo thing with the bike was really clever, but it really didn't do anything for me overall. I was really looking forward to checking this out after they took out Terminator and I'm just kinda underwhelmed by the whole thing. I hope it's just a case of it being a technical rehearsal and they can polish it a little more down the road, but I'm not really sure how much wiggle room there is given the screen elements to the whole thing. I'll be crossing my fingers. Thanks for the video.

@@FatBaby Being in the ac for 20 minutes is a luxury at the Orlando parks in the summer. Also a good deal when it starts to rain. I was mostly unimpressed with all the staged fighting, just too much of the same thing.
I feel like most of the stunts were mostly simulated effects not actual stunts. It's hard to buy into the danger of a motorcycle chase when you're watching a stationary bike in front of a screen (even if its well done)

So there was a moment at the end where he flew off of the screen and the parachute glider thing and then he was standing on stage and I thought how is that possible, which means that it was incredibly immersive and I did not even realize that he was a screen at the end.
So the graphics are great , the sets are amazing , only thing is the story absolutely sucks , legit over 1/2 show is literally just him hanging onto a rope , defintely wish T2 was back
Not a patch on T2 and the martial arts are clunky. Far too much distance for the techniques to be effective. Add in villains who are unable to shoot straight and it might as well be the Power Puff girls.
I love the perspective changes and the melding of set and screen, but honestly the whole thing could have been condensed into about 10 minutes and been a lot more enjoyable.

I like the stunts and the set pieces that move. That's cool. But the backdrop is a little too videogamey. It takes away some of the danger and the excitement. Maybe it's just better in person.
Honestly, Fast and Furious is overrated...if even rated at all. Their own ride they have is bombing in reviews and honestly is a horrible ride. During the covid now (August '20) and it's the only ride shutdown during this whole era. I asked a park person - "One because they all voted on shutting down a ride and two...this ride sucks in our ratings." Not my words but I do agree with them.

Really jaw dropping blending of sets and screens. Sort of wished they had picked a more relevant property, but still, really fantastic show. Congrats to the stunt team and park engineers for putting together something so unique! This is way cooler than I thought it would be :).
I'm a huge Bourne fan and I think this is pretty neat. I wish Matt Damon had been involved, it would have made it feel more authentic, like Arnold's involvement helped T2: Battle Across Time. The blending of live action with CGI was much better here than in Fast and the Furious. And they brought back Julia Stiles as Nicky, which automatically makes it better than the fourth Bourne movie in my book. About the only other thing I would change is the ending - the villain is just way too hammy. Thanks for putting this up, can't wait to go see it in person!
The mixing and switching between screen and actual stunts is amazing. I had to rewatch the part where Bourne jumps from the balcony to the guy ha ing from the helicopter cause I thought at first he really did jump!!!
Technology is cool but they replaced a show with a great que, story and pre show and all that stuff seems incredibly low effort for this show. From the name of the attraction pasted all over the que instead of theming and the really low effort preshow video it doesn't build anywhere near the anticipation for the main show that t2 3d did. hope people enjoy this show, but i don't like that the trend of fast and furious is continuing with stiff acting from actors contractually obliged to make the pre ride footage.
Theming is everything to attractions and I agree everything is now becoming very fast and furiousy, it’s very worrying for the future of universal, the only amazing ride that they have put out recently is hagrids
The story is basic yes, but I think Julia Stiles reprieving her role is a great addition to any Bourne fan. I do say addition, because her storyline in the show is a continuation. As for the main show, this is also a short continuation of Bourne but emphasized on well STAGE action packed scenes.

Woah this is the most impressive use of mixed media I've ever seen. It's so elaborate, and the first time I've ever wondered what was physical and projection. I've actually been part of a show with mixed media and I understand how difficult it is to make it believable, and this is flawless (well, nearly as the cars at the end are too small to be believable but this is really a detail) The house reveal is mind blowing. If this show looks this good on video, then it must feel incredible to see live!
Thanks for the upload. I've been waiting for someone to upload the show since I found out about the soft opening. Universal did a great job seeminglessly integrating the set pieces with the film.
I wanna say I love it but I don’t as much. There were so many dull moments and it’s all action that feels like its been going on forever. It can definitely be polished and maybe add more dialogue cos there were so many scenes that was just movement and scoring which is fine but when it goes on for so long, it’s like MOVE IT ALONG, people. The car chase also is painful to the eye but the slow-mo effect after that was really cool. I have to say that the mixture of the background scenes with physical sets were amazing. The story just isn’t as fast-paced as TERMINATOR: 3D that keeps your attention still focused all throughout. I do like that you don’t have to wear glasses for this one like in Terminator. The real person for the pre-show for T3D was also a hit and the intro for that one was just enough. The pre-show also felt long so the actual show felt like an extended version of that long pre-show. Lots of hits and misses but we forgive this one cos it’s still in technical rehearsals. May they listen to their audience for future versions of this show. I still like T3D and Waterworld than this.
It seems like most of the time the actors are just waiting for a set piece to roll in or an effect to activate. The real problem here in my opinion is the title of the show. I would NOT consider this a stunt show. Its more of a video presentation with live actors. If it was billed as a "technology experience " it would be more interesting. Maybe explain how video screens are the future of filmmaking and explain how perspective and camera framing is important to stunt work.

Just saw a technical rehearsal of this today. All I can say this is what a Universal Studios attraction is about. Stunts, Sets, and Pyrotechnics with the latest in digital projection. You need to see this in person to be in awe.
I saw this during Team Member previews. I think it’s a VERY intense and high tech show to watch, at least worth to see once. I can’t wait to see it again!

Wow that was great! Much better then what they tried with Fast and Furious. I like that they used both the screen and actual props and gave them 3-D spatial effects by turning the props matching the screen. Cant wait to see this in person!
Head's up - Watching this video is fantastic to get what to expect BUT do NOT judge the illusions/visual on this video - It's SUPERBLY BETTER IN PERSON!!!!! That screen they use is meant for in person and it's 4K times 20!!! The scenes blend so well with the real life actors on stage - at times I couldn't even tell what was real and not. I will say it takes T2's spot very nicely and it will stick around for at least 4-5 years. Great Job Universal! (Just was there on 8/19/2020).
While it's no T2, it shows a type of thinking and planning universal showed in the 90s. Being IN a movie and of that I'm appreciative. It's good enough that I say this is how you should have honored fast and furious, not that embarrassment there now. If we get more shows like this, being inside a movie, universal will be in good shape.
Not enough people are talking about the feeling of movement they give in the seats when the screen moves. It is such an incredibly subtle but immersive part of the show.
Wow! Just 'wow'. I stayed at Universal in the beginning of March before just it closed and saw the signs for this show and was bummed that this show wasn't open for me to see. Now I'm even more 'bummed' that I wasn't able to see this. The way the live performers and pre-filmed scenes/performers were integrated is just incredible. Your recording is done so well that I wasn't sure exactly what the pre-recorded bits were compared to the live sets/performers. This is, I have to say, a little more immersive then terminator. One problem that terminator faced was the mixture of the 3D movie aspect as well as the stage part which really at some parts didn't mix well. Bourne on the other hand is full on HD as well as everything being according the the same size. No scenes from the movies to break it. It felt like an entire show on its on then just a tribute. This is brilliantly crafted and written as well as directed. Great work on Universal Studios to create something brilliant
The chase scenes are what “Fast and Furious The Ride” should have been. The stunt segments are amazing. It looks so real and I was exhausted getting to the end.
Pretty neat and this can open doors to new things outside of stunt shows, can be used in plays/musicals or form a whole new medium. When the screens look so good it's hard to spot the real human. :) I too am not a fan of screens but the cleaner they get and used with real props I enjoy them a lot more.
Now THIS is how universal should be using screens: a seamless mesh of practical and digital effects. This might become my new favorite show in any park ever.
That car chase at the end...whoa... This is an incredible show. I'm super impressed with what Universal pulled off here. Oh...and I'm SOOO glad they played Moby's song at the end!
I think Universal hit it out of the park with this...in person the sets, screens, actors, stunts, lighting, pyro, and music all blend together and are timed out perfect..... And for crying out loud it had SLOW MOTION in it.

They're amazing and they hold up really well, you should watch them! Especially the first trilogy. The last one in the series came out four years ago, there was a TV series based on Bourne last year, and there's a new film in development. :)

Pretty cool, still miss T2 but enjoyed this idea as well. Can't wait till next time when I visit Florida again to check this out in person. As everyone is saying it needs to be seen in person to actually enjoy the overall experience. The only element it lacks is interacting with the audience. I loved it in T2 when if you sit in the correct seat the actors run by you. They should do something where it like you're outside scoping out Bourne he notices and tries to run and part of that is him running into the audience and then back up on stage or something.
Wish they used this tech for fast and furious but damn does this look good! If it's this good on video you can only imagine the experience in person! How the hell were they able to coordinate this who thing?! Amazing!

Just saw a technical rehearsal of this today. All I can say this is what a Universal Studios attraction is about. Stunts, Sets, and Pyrotechnics with the latest in digital projection. You need to see this in person to be in awe.
I saw this during Team Member previews. I think it’s a VERY intense and high tech show to watch, at least worth to see once. I can’t wait to see it again!

Wow that was great! Much better then what they tried with Fast and Furious. I like that they used both the screen and actual props and gave them 3-D spatial effects by turning the props matching the screen. Cant wait to see this in person!
Head's up - Watching this video is fantastic to get what to expect BUT do NOT judge the illusions/visual on this video - It's SUPERBLY BETTER IN PERSON!!!!! That screen they use is meant for in person and it's 4K times 20!!! The scenes blend so well with the real life actors on stage - at times I couldn't even tell what was real and not. I will say it takes T2's spot very nicely and it will stick around for at least 4-5 years. Great Job Universal! (Just was there on 8/19/2020).
The technical aspect is really intriguing, however I'm not sure if it was entertaining.

While it's no T2, it shows a type of thinking and planning universal showed in the 90s. Being IN a movie and of that I'm appreciative. It's good enough that I say this is how you should have honored fast and furious, not that embarrassment there now. If we get more shows like this, being inside a movie, universal will be in good shape.

Not enough people are talking about the feeling of movement they give in the seats when the screen moves. It is such an incredibly subtle but immersive part of the show.

Wow! Just 'wow'. I stayed at Universal in the beginning of March before just it closed and saw the signs for this show and was bummed that this show wasn't open for me to see. Now I'm even more 'bummed' that I wasn't able to see this. The way the live performers and pre-filmed scenes/performers were integrated is just incredible. Your recording is done so well that I wasn't sure exactly what the pre-recorded bits were compared to the live sets/performers. (The masks were usually a good giveaway tho. 😁) Thank you for providing this. You've earned a new subscriber!
This is, I have to say, a little more immersive then terminator. One problem that terminator faced was the mixture of the 3D movie aspect as well as the stage part which really at some parts didn't mix well. Bourne on the other hand is full on HD as well as everything being according the the same size. No scenes from the movies to break it. It felt like an entire show on its on then just a tribute. This is brilliantly crafted and written as well as directed. Great work on Universal Studios to create something brilliant

The chase scenes are what “Fast and Furious The Ride” should have been. The stunt segments are amazing. It looks so real and I was exhausted getting to the end.
Pretty neat and this can open doors to new things outside of stunt shows, can be used in plays/musicals or form a whole new medium. When the screens look so good it's hard to spot the real human. :) I too am not a fan of screens but the cleaner they get and used with real props I enjoy them a lot more.
That's some next level technology right there 💯💯💯
Now THIS is how universal should be using screens: a seamless mesh of practical and digital effects. This might become my new favorite show in any park ever.

I think Universal hit it out of the park with this...in person the sets, screens, actors, stunts, lighting, pyro, and music all blend together and are timed out perfect..... And for crying out loud it had SLOW MOTION in it.

They're amazing and they hold up really well, you should watch them! Especially the first trilogy. The last one in the series came out four years ago, there was a TV series based on Bourne last year, and there's a new film in development. :)

Just got back from universal and was shocked to see terminator gone. However, was one hell of a upgrade!

They don’t unfortunately. It’s just like watching a movie at a movie theater, except with live actors there, not just a screen.
Pretty cool, still miss T2 but enjoyed this idea as well. Can't wait till next time when I visit Florida again to check this out in person. As everyone is saying it needs to be seen in person to actually enjoy the overall experience. The only element it lacks is interacting with the audience. I loved it in T2 when if you sit in the correct seat the actors run by you. They should do something where it like you're outside scoping out Bourne he notices and tries to run and part of that is him running into the audience and then back up on stage or something.
