    Out in the woods right now and my gen keeps running and then overloading the gen with AC. You are the only video I found that said I need a neutral bond plug with my surge protector thank you sir. I was out here trying to figure it out all night I was trippin because it’s brand new thanks for the help man!

    Great informational video. You already convinced me about this generator's capability. BTW, congrats on your success. As a minority it is so great to see that there are no limits to what we can accomplish in the good Ol'US of A thru hard work and determination. We just have to convince others to stop making excuses as to why they cannot be accomplished. Excuses are for losers. BIG Congrats, Brother.

      The 100892 generator is better priced and quiet technology , who the hell needs a remote , I’m the remote , I’ll get off my but to shutoff or the wife will , you can get the kit later for cheaper, I can pull start and shut off even if I’m in my pj’s , $250 more and you need a battery which is another $100 , I’m very happy with my champion generator , and I can pick it up with a bad back and arthritis , I love it , people get post off when they find out what price this sells for , only available at tractor supply stores , especially made for them , I can go anywhere with power to spare . Happy RV- big people enjoy your gens.

    Nice to see realistic loads instead of just mindlessly piling on the load until it trips. AC on and a meal in the microwave was key for me. Wanted to see if it can handle that and still have a bit left in the tank because that’s realistically my maximum load.

    Nice review. I have an electric car and needed to use a neutral grounding plug also for the generator to be able to charge the car. Found out I had to do that when my wife forgot to plug the car in and ran it out of charge on the way to the store. Brought the generator to her and found out it wouldn't work without the neutral ground plug. Now, I don't advise anyone to do this but I was between a rock and a hard place so I took a metal hanger, bent it, stuck one end to neutral and the other to ground and, success. Started charging. I have since purchased a proper neutral ground plug for those times when it's needed. Might be a good video for you to show how and why generators have floating grounds and the use of the neutral ground plug. It would probably be a short video but I bet it would be helpful to a lot of people who don't understand electricity.

    I have an older Champion 4000/3500, just gas, no inverter. It's performed great over the years. Powered tge 40' Sierra, and at home the tv, cable, directv, fridge and 1 window a/c. I just 2 weeks ago ordered the champ 8750 from Amazon. They were shipping to me, it got 27 miles away from me in a prime warehouse and changed the delivery! Said they had warehouse problems and backed me up 10 days. I said I'd go pick it up and amazon said no you can't. I went to homedepot and ordered the wen 875i, then cancelled Amazon's delivery. Can't say enough bad on amazon, especially here. Waiting for my wen, hooe it's good. Can't find a review by you on that size wen. Good review here though.

    Great video, Gavin! This seems like a very capable generator in that bigger category. What I like about this category of generator is that they are really about the same weight as the 3000-3800w category, but you get that extra electrical spike coverage. Of course, there is a commensurate increase in fuel consumption; so it is a matter of really what the need is.
    I'll design our solar set up so that we do not have to count amps all of the time. A generator that complements that by not having to count generator amps could serve well!
    The more of your videos I watch, I am growing to really like that remote start feature hehehehe. It boils down to "turn the generator off while in the comfort of your rig while in your skivvies.......or conserve my back with a smaller 65lb or lighter options".
    Safe travels!!

I went to break mine in today connected to my truck camper a/c and it was pulling 10 amps. The compressor was running.. and with a full fuel tank it was almost touching the line before E at 4.5 hours can this be right? I figured maybe half a tank with only 1/3 running load. Thanks for the video. Very informative with respect to the electricity and quality of electricity generated by the generator.
    I was curious what size microwave was that was that at 1100 or 1200 Watt system.
    Definitely I see that the 4500 Watt based generator system is able to allow you to not micromanage the appliance usage issues while within your vehicle.
    My general needs right now would be to have an AC perhaps a 13.5 BTU unit running and the need to run a microwave up to 1100 watts to be able to be used at the same time. The reason is that I understand that starting and stopping an AC unit requires some sort of a pause between turning it on or turning it off to allow the internal components to settle for the restart. I didn't want to subject my AC unit to turning on or off merely to pop something in the microwave. So this pushes me into a generator that can handle both of the AC and microwave appliances to be ran at the same time. Other than that it will be either the AC unit the microwave, the AC unit the coffee maker, or the AC unit and a heater well not a heater but you get the idea.
    The one thing that I am starting to target in my research is the auto start feature. This isn't a matter of just not wanting to go outside but it involves having two go from your internal dress 2 having to put your shoes on or during inclement weather all these things are a factor when having to go in and out of your vehicles simply to turn on or off your generator. Also security issues if it's late at night, these types of things are what the auto start feature saves when it's part of the generator package.
    And lastly I really like the use of the surge protector system, but what I don't like about it is that it's just that one more thing that I'm going to have to buy. Other than that, I look forward to next video.

      @GeneratorReviews  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks for watching
      You seem very knowledgeable of what you want and I have to agree with you on almost all of it, the larger generator allows you to run more and not micromanage the system but it also allows you to run the generator at a lower percentage say like 50% not stressing out the system enabling it to last longer
      I understand that the surge protector is an extra cost but it really helps if you’re going to use remote start because of the delay start feature.
      The microwave values was a 1200 W
      You’re on the right track now it’s just trying to figure out which one works out best for you.

      My two ACs are 13,500 BTU with a soft start install on both thanks for watching

    What are the dB at full load?

    My only question is do you have the soft start on your AC’s? Looking at the plug on your Genny I can’t tell if you using a 30 RV main or 50 Amp main. I was running a 5k gen before and could only run one of my ACs without a soft start AC adapter

      Yes I do have soft start installed, it’s a must for running on a generator

      @@GeneratorReviews thanks for the confirmation. My rv is 50 amp so I think this is going to make me break down and install the soft starts finally. Great video!

    What are your thoughts now on this vs the Cummins Onan 4500 you just tested? Thanks!

    • @GeneratorReviews
      @GeneratorReviews  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I like both Gens I’d buy either one but for the price of the Champion vs the Cummins that’s a had decision.
      So if price wasn’t an issue the Cummins puts out some serious power
      Both are great choices for backup power solid warranty that’s why I picked them

      @@GeneratorReviews I'm interested in decibels at idle, 25% and 80-100% loads. In the Cummins Onan test video your ran to full load (and then some at 4000 watts) to test it but in the Champion I don't think you got over 3000 watts so I'd like to see it at 3500/+ please. I think someone else mentioned sine wave at load would be neat as well. I also think run time at the load of maybe 1 AC unit would be fun to know but probably hard to test. Last but not least which is easier to maintain (oil changes, battery maintenance, running/draining fuel out of the carb for storage, etc). Thanks!!

    How many btu is your ac ?

    Quick question for you. If I have an Eaton surge protector on my mains for my home, then would the surge guard with a non-inverter generator give me the same smooth power as an inverter generator? Wondering if this isn't a more cost effective option given that non-inverter gens are cheaper. I know however that the inverter gens are a bit quieter though.

      Unfortunately no those generator are not sine wave and are not safe for cell phones laptops or any sensitive electronics
