@RobloxRightHere Four big guys and they grab on my thighs Blow up my guts like the 4th of July If they keep fuckin' my butt then I might just cry Poop and semen sprayin' on my eyes
Charlie, as a game developer, destruction is easily one of the hardest things to do in a game. You have to create a seamless mesh voxelizer or remesher (a system of taking a 3D model and either converting it to voxels which are essentially cubes except that voxels sometimes don't have unnecessary faces to make it run faster. Or, you convert the 3D model into a different shape for the same process) Then you have to accurately remove a part of the 3D model without destroying the geometry, and also create a new 3D model of what was destroyed. Keep in mind that the geometry is represented as vertices relevant to the origin (0,0,0) of the model. So the data structure for the model that you would have to edit to remake the mesh would look like a confusing nightmare of coordinate numbers. And yeah, Some game engines may have features to do this but most of the big ones(unity, unreal, godot, etc.) do not already have this kind of system in place so you'd have to write it yourself.
yeah. i think the new ue5 has tools for it but its still really intense, especially for an action multiplayer game. if i had to guess the input buffer is because its validating all physics server-side before accepting an input so that you dont destroy something and people hang in the air. doing that with accurate rubble simulation would be insanely hard.
On the input lag, I haven't tried it but sounds like the input might be server-side. Same issue as with Halo MCC at least on PC launch, if you connected to a friend's game, your movement inputs were subject to ping. Basically your character's position is always what the server thinks: you press a key, it is sent to the server, the server sends you the changed position, and the position updates on your screen. On one hand this makes it so the exact same positions that are "canon" to the server are shown on everyone's screen. Although, most games simulate the movement on the client side, so there is no delay for your own movements. This introduces a whole lot of additional lag compensation, though, so it's not trivial. Not sure what the specifics here are.
Dang that game actually looks fantastic! Also, I think they probably did the jump that way to make it more realistic. Recently I was laughing at how characters in games don't bend their legs before a jump and how goofy it looks
i didnt even realize that you bend ur legs a bit when you jump this is such a good detail but i do agree that when jumping in the game they like float for a good second
There's a reason games don't do that it feels bad. I'd also not like my characters to have a chance to mess up a reload like in real life too. There's a lot of things games do to make them feel better to play not to mention the floaty magical jump pads and grappling hooks that rip you across space time I don't think 100% realistic movement was the goal lol.
@@tsukiortu Yeah, I definitely agree that it feels better in games when it's not quite realistic. I'm not sure if they were going for more of a realism to match the realistic destruction or if it was just a mess-up. Either way, I can see them probably fixing it soon before the game gets fully released
Hey Critoookaaaal quick tip, If their Backstab reg is designed to be fair/Balanced and not hackable by cheaters, then its going to go off of what the server sees and not what either player sees on their screen. TF2 style. If the Spies backstabs werent checked and ocnfirmed on the server side, you could edit your client side data to make every knife hit a backstab. So it SHOULD be server side, and if it is, then what any player sees wont be 100% accurate, you have to just try and figure out why the server made its decision. Often times, the player just happened to flick their mouse to face you, and that input reached the server before your input, but doesnt show on your screen yet. This effect also happens in the reverse so its fair enough I think

I don't really watch e-sports much but if Moist Esports starts a team for The Finals when it releases I'm 100% there. So entertaining to play and watch.
As someone who's working on network code, I can explain the input lag. They probably are using a fully server authoritative model for the game so they can have accurate replicated physics, which has the cost of your inputs being delayed by your connection. The developers should implement a client-side predictive model like in rocket league to maintain server side physics but allow for responsive input feedback.

i’m actually so hyped for this game i missed arcade feeling shooters
So how the cash outs work is they are based around the timer. They will always finish on time. But trying to cash out on a few seconds left only gives you a small amount of dosh.

“That guy is one shot.”
*Charlie proceeds to kill him with one shot*
Me:🤯
I'm hoping the dev team listens to feedback cuz this game is sick.
Why arent more streamers playing this. I dont think many are aware of this game. I was playing with randoms and its still enjoyable.
i been waiting for this game for half a year now. Seeing Charlie play and enjoy it in alpha version means so much to me ngl.
what's the game called
@@pussygetter4465 lmao have you even watched the vid!? Its called the finals
You sound, like, totally, like, gay, or like, homosexual or something, like, talk like a man, like its kinda weird.
This looks really fun but I don’t understand how the scoring works
You should definitely play this game now that the full release is out
Charlie enjoying life at 110 % while sneako watches cuties
Edit- besides all that sneako drama this game looks pretty dope.
There is no drama. Just sneako having a major mental breakdown, total meltdown.
Remember playing this game while being on Closed Alpha and expierience was amazing. I hope this game will be more pumpted up by more TH-camrs and Streamers.

@@TorHanson wondering the same let us know pls
@@TorHanson The Finals. Available on Steam.
called the finals
Holy hell guys the name of the game is "The finals" it's in beta so u probably can't play so stop asking what game it is
That actually would look fun
If I had more than ONE friend on PC
Started playing this a few months ago and it’s fun ash
What games did you play back then to feel nostalgia from destruction?
Battlefield 4?
Red faction

@Shinymaniac Ofc
@Shinymaniac im not a bot lol
@Shinymaniac yeah im not a bot, i think im a normal human :D
Charlie 1:00 that input lag that you guys are talking about is actually a design choice and it's to emulate real life body sway and movement and response. They did the same thing in Day Z and i think it's great and makes games more involved and skill. Because sometimes it's really really fucking bad when you have people just running around and jumping in and out areas and just flicking off shoots and getting hits.
Hey big chuck, today I recieved my tungsten cube!
Yeah the more I see of this game, the more intriguing it seems. The gameplay seems very fun! Love the destruction system too!
The time to kill is way too high IMO. It has some problems but it definitely has potential.
Charlie's already chillin after humbling sneako lmao
