It’s not complicated. Man United set up to totally nullify City in the first half. City have so much depth in their squad they brought on Doku, one of the quickest wingers in the world. And he was causing problems for defenders in the second half. Everyone else offered no threat. Martinez pocketed Haaland, midfielders did their jobs.

This narrative of City having an off game... I don't agree. You can have a couple of players have off games. Strikers missing shots, a few bad passes by midfielders, etc. But they are subbed and carry on. You're saying the entire City squad, who most consider the best team in the world, had an off day, at the same time. Best midfielder in Debryne, epl player of the season in Foden, best striker in the world in Halaand, Rodri who never loses, and so on. Then throw out this ridiculous, "only 15 mins of warmup". I'm surprised the amount of praise United are actually getting from Talksport over the win, but not surprised the usual suspect on here are quiet. Every time there is a big win by United, the mainstays on talksport are nowhere to be found. You only get coverage from the fringe. But I digress... Maybe City has a bad day because of United and how they set up, choked out the midfield not allowing Rodri to play thru the lines to link Foden and Kevin. Funneled city to Silva where Dalot had him in his pocket. Aggressive against Halaand. Take advantage of City's high line and force Gvardiol to defend. United deserve the praise and don't deserve the "city had an off day" claim.
