Haven't watched the vid yet but just wanna say I love seeing all your tweets and stuff about how you and Yuna spend time, they're really sweet and wholesome. Keep it up!
I'm officially a monster hunter dad too! My daughter slayed her first Great Maccao in MHGU a few weeks back and she's hunted a Barroth, a Yian Kut-ku, and a Gypceros with my supervision (we don't have the money for multiple copies). She's a SnS main, too, so you know she's got a solid future.
Jyuratodus has some really cool terrain manipulation, I love how it creates little mud bridges. Trouble is that you really aren't that much slower in the water, so it has barely any impact on the fight. Also the mud layer means you're getting constant part breaks on it and it doesn't get a chance to do anything. Tzitzi-Ya-Ku is a disappointing fight, but I'd have to give it a B or C because I'm always so happy whenever it shows up to relentlessly flash the monster I'm trying to kill. Also, aesthetically it reminds me of Waluigi.
thank you for including her list as well, i really like your father/daughter videos, reminds me of when i was a kid, and played with my dad, which to this day we still do.
You said you need special skills to go against shara, I don't understand this. I didn't need any special skills for him and thought his fight was amazing.
Great shoutout to Herny's videos, both his Rajang and Rathalos/Rathian video are excellent analysis on "old vs. new". I just which he would upload more stuff because he's immensely talented :(
Shara Ishvalda is actually one of my favourite monsters, I think I'm just a sucker for the spectacle. When the rock armor starts falling off and he rises up from the dust cloud, striking a towering and powerful pose, followed by a magnificent, terrifying roar that clears the dust and reshapes the arena as a faster, more dramatic version of the music track kicks in... It's probably one of the coolest things I've ever witnessed in a video game. Then there's his terrifying eyes and his awesome attacks that are a spectacle in and of itself. I personally didn't find the fight annoying or boring, but it is a bit different, so I see and respect how some people may think that. I mostly see it as a massive, theatrical spectacle and I love it. Also, his head is really fun to hit with a lv2 hammer charge or a hunting horn right swing :)
His opinions on shara are terrible. You don't need any skills to beat this guy. His design and theme, not to mention the fight itself are all higher tier than basic nargacuga or tigrex. Putting him below crap monsters like pukei, beotodus, uragaan and kushala is just an insult.
Thank you! Its refreshing to see some else who sees shara in the same light! As you said shara is a spectacle with its area, music, moves, and design! I felt like they did him dirty with how nergi finishes him off and the armor being lack luster but truly an amazing monster!!
I agree, he's wonderfully ferocious and has great telegraphs for his attacks. When he's enraged and gets you bleeding at low health it can be quite thrilling to recover.
It definitely depends on weapon for some monsters. Odogaron and Legiana are easily S tier as a lancer; Alatreon ranks waaaay lower on my list since I used gunlance in Iceborne and, uh, yeah.... elemental's not that weapon's forte. :P
My favorite part of Zorah Magdaros is that you can pose with it in it's cutscene. It always comes down at the same place, so if you're there you can emote for it. I like giving it a jazz hands entrance for everyone to see.
Nah, Rathian and Rathalos are solid B for me. I enjoy fighting them, and their equipment is solid, buuuuuut... I just don't feel awesome beating them anymore.
No Azure rath is a monster from monster hunter G from back in I believe 2005. For some reason he was on the cover art in place of brachy in the west for 3u though.
Ah wait you were correctly reffering to mh1G. I for some reason read it as generations. I'm actually not sure about his status as a flagship but he was on the cover art of mh1g, yes. That doesn't necessarily mean flagship though.
kinda unrelated to the tier list but I just realized, Alatreon's "logo" looks like the MH rise logo, I'm sure it's coincidence but still makes you think...
I just wanna congratulate you on the fact that this is the FIRST MW tier list I’ve seen that’s over 20 minutes long. Literally every other monster tier list video is 20 minutes or less and the person just basically throws a monster in a tier and is like “Monster good” or “Monster Bad” so thank you!
I love his moveset, especially over his previous iteration, he is really fun to solo. I just don't like the mechanic, the gameplay loop for him is really specific and scaled really weird. If he only did two escatons after breaking a horn each time it would be fine but I often struggle to kill him solo before he gets a free cart on me because I can't do anything about the third escaton with ice/fire weapons. That's being really aggressive and punishing all of his openings too, it's just scaled really weird. Also introduced a friend to MH with World and we went all the way up to Alatreon no problem. I couldn't carry him with it, he would have to grind a shit ton just to make up for the scaling difference and he doesn't have much time to play so we regrettably sort of stopped there and decided to wait for Rise. I love and hate Alatreon, kinda describes my thoughts on World overall.
@@theninja2k14 Usually use Safi CB, he barely has any openings for AED. Also I didn't get any wall bangs or mounts off last time I tried. It's dumb how bad those wall bang spots are. I'm going off on his head at pretty much all times though, can't do much when he's in the air and enraged.
@@D1ab0lical air just use smoke bombs he immediately comes back down, there's like 3-4 attacks that leave him wide open, one where he shoots a fireball and explodes inward to outward wait for first explosion roll in boom easy free damage, when he calls lightning while standing still stay near front legs your completely fine (also hit his legs more than head it's his biggest elemental hitzones) the lightning attack where he jumps massively back and sends lightning forward is a massive punching bag, same with the ice and fire breathe attacks charge blade is probably one of the easiest weapons to use against him imoh especially with pizza cutting him, insect glave also easy choice since you don't have to worry about element on the weapon and can just rely on the kinsect
Him mentioning all these monsters are decoration checks and putting them lower for it, meanwhile Vaal is in S tier with one of the biggest deco requirements with miasma...??? I honestly didn't find that any of the other hunts required specific armor skills resistances except for Vaal and Brachy (the buff to his blastscourge is fucking stupid requiring 5-6 rolls). With Vaal, yea you can just nullberry, but then you're now missing half hp for just getting the ailment and you gotta waste time eating a nulberry just for fighting the monster. Vaal is also one of the easiest Elders when you skill for miasma, literally a pushover.
As a hammer player, Odogaron is such a fun fight. It's almost like a dance, since you have to remain so close to it. I just have fun with every fight, as it's a never ending series of movements and tests your positioning. Honestly, my only regret with it is that it dies so fast. I honestly wish it had a little more health just to keep the fight going a little longer.
I watched a lot of Monster Hunter World Iceborne monster tier list videos. This is the one I agree with the most ! Also your daughter has a good taste for a fresh hunter !
A lot of nostalgia for Brachy too. He was the monster I used for training I-frame dodging. Nothing like the feeling when you finally get it down and can roll through his explosions naked without any rolling/invincibility perks.
great list, its nice to see you and yuna enjoy monster hunter together. I agree with her thoughts on fatalis especially with the other monsters being still locked til she gets to the right hr
Beotodus is half lawn mower (sounds), and half land shark. That's why he gets C. He really sells the "land shark" aspect really really well because of the snow. Still a fishy punching bag but pulls the idea off for once.
My sensei was Nargacuga, personally. I started playing Gen back in the 3DS days, and never really had any trouble with Great Mac. Malfestio was pretty problematic but he wasn't all that hard. Narga, on the other hand... My first time fighting him I got my butt whooped. Back when I played the demo, he was the big boss I couldn't beat until... Everything just clicked. The moment I finally beat him was the moment I had fallen in love with the franchise. I'll always be thankful for him teaching me how to dodge, and for selling me on this series.
There weren't too many radically different choices between the way I'd tier monsters and the way Gaijin did, but there were endless smiles over Yuna's tier list. One day that switch might flip and give her a love for things like Fatalis, but for now, I think she's off to a promising start. =3
Really nice list. To reiterate on Lunastra's favoritism, I would say that weapon choice does in fact determine how easy she is. Funny enough, the weapon you main is the one that makes Lunastra easier to handle, because you can pole vault and dash over plumes and heatwaves she throws at you. Not to mention her wings are her weakpoint, so being able to dash above and spin your glaive around almost makes the fight funny in some way. I also think it has to do with that we haven't seen Lunastra in god knows how long. Back then she was a reskinned Teostra with crummy hitboxes due to the hardware limitations. But here, seeing her having a new gimmick, refined moveset, and more appropriate hitboxes makes her way better. For my experience, it's the same as above but with a few things. One is that Lunastra is and has always been designed to be a post game boss, so of course she is going to be tough. She may not be as difficult as Behemoth or Alatreon, but you can't go in after beating the game, expecting a cake walk or two(whether you think her gimmicks are fair is really up to you). If it helps future hunts, Lunastra's plumes can be put out by Crystalburst or Puddle Pods(DON'T WASTE ANY FIELD SLINGER AMMO. Believe me, it can really help besides doing wall bangs). Luring her away from her plumes also makes the fight less frustrating. It's funny that I see a lot of people prefer Teo over Luna, because Teo in Master Rank was a NIGHTMARE. There was this move where he would spread out craptons of blast powder, and I couldn't get towards him unless I had blast resistance or mantles. He would do this nonstop and I don't see the benefits of going ham on him while getting blasted twice. I think in later patches, they adjusted the ai where he wouldn't do it as frequently. I love both Bays, but MR Teostra really soured my opinion on him. Maybe in a next playthrough, when I become more resourceful with charms and skills, my opinion of him will be better lol
For Beotodus, I think it deserves that C is because it's an interesting fish in comparison to the others and because he's the first monster in MR, he is actually more than a punching bag when you first run into him. Not my favorite monster but DEFINITELY better than the other fish.
@@draw2death421 cephadrome is the worst by far lol. I enjoyed Beotodus though. He was fun as a first fight in his rank. If he had come later it would have been boring as all get out. I also main IG so jumping over his worst attacks made what I'm sure is extra aggravating about him for other weapons less so for me.
@@draw2death421 thats fair. I hate blast personally so I get the aversion to a specific debuff. You'd think I'd hate ice and water more than I do, but I can manage those better than a punch to the face from Brachy or a blast from teo/Luna lol
What I look for in Monster Hunter is the "Feel-good value" of the hunt. Probably my #1 favorite monster is Brachydios. The way you swing at it, it beats back at you, you both are pivoting around each other, trading blows, it really feels like you are on an even playing field against your rival. And when you finally take it down, you *feel good*. That's why a lot of my top monsters are ones that have this same playstyle. Zinogre, Glavenus, Astalos, Nergigante. They all have that same even-playing-field vibe. I especially like acidic Glavenus, it felt like I was facing off against another hunter. I also love just straight up *badass* moments. My playthrough of Iceborne was with lance, and so when I got to Ishvalda, with my guard up and guard+3 on, I managed to tank a few ticks of his mega blast before I fell. Next fight, guard+5, barely took any damage, but I ran out of stamina. Next fight, slap on stamina, and that feeling of sitting there tanking the ENTIRE blast was great. That's a fun fight for me, always on your toes. Also, Jhen Mohran will always be in my heart. I can't think of any other time I'd repeatedly hunt a monster just because it was fun, instead of gathering parts. Of course, I'd hunt my favorite monsters many times to build their armor set, but I've hunted far too many Jhens. I wish they'd bring him back.
When you gave both Teostra, AND base Vaal an "S", I loved it. Teostra is by far my favorite monster, and I didn't start my monster hunter love until world. Despite the fact that Teo gets the shaft on not having a freaking chargeblade, and a suspect HBG, I still remember the first time my wife and I hunted him, and us panic running away the first time he initiated the nova. Amazing monster.
Damn, i love Shara Ishvalda so much and it made me kinda sad seeing him so low, i have played all monster hunters (with 4 being the only one i still haven't played) i have hunted him tons of time and he's my favorite final monster(maybe gog will change my mind once i play 4) i don't think he's boring at all and it's also really sad that he didn't get a Arch Tempered version...
Hey man, just wanted to let you know that I really enjoyed this video. It was very entertaining and I loved hearing your opinions and hope you do more of these.
This was fun! It's interesting to see how different our opinions can be. I felt like we had similar points but then wildly different opinions on other things. But I'm with you, Dodogama isn't very cute and as a hammer main most of the filler monsters just get chain stunned to death. I tend to have the most fun with predictably fast monsters or slow with a bit of randomness. If the monsters head isn't the weakness the fight just has less appeal cause landing the golf swing in a monsters chin with the "ka-ching" sound is the most fun I have in the game. Vaal Hazaak is definitely a cutie and I farmed him a TON. Man I could talk about Monster Hunter forever. Btw my sensei was the Great Jaggia but I also include Querupeco the Jho caller in that category. But yeah I can't wait to see something similar when rise is finished!
I am so behind Yuna's tier list xD Especially for Fatalis, Alatreon I might put 1-2 tier above but both fights, while I love what they did with both and I really want to enjoy the fights, it just doesn't feel right, especially when you didn't play as update came out and you end up doing these 2 end game monster with broken sets, especially fatalis, when you can't even unlock all monsters until MR 70 and 100 x.x There's some other monsters I'd move up or down one tier, but overall I can see myself doing a similar tier list. Would love to see an update for her list in the future, if you she/you 2 ever get to finish all monsters :D
Only thing I'd personally change would be Raging Brachy as a B tier, because of his size and new moves that force you to stay on your toes and stay engaged
I suspect Yuna's enjoyment of Zorah Magdaros comes from the fact that something clicked with it being a formative experience both with the franchise and a bonding moment with her father. How heartwarming if that's the case. And I completely agree with her about Fatalis' gear. I wish Capcom locked crafting the gear/weapons to only after you've finished the Special Assignment.

sameeeeee, the female alpha set just screams splatoon; and of course the male alpha set as sans, also very cool (too bad beta is pretty much always better)
Yes, someone gets it, especially the female armor
I thought the same thing when I made it lol.
@@tsf1769 Luckily the Gamma set has the Beta design

I hope Yuna does the bow tutorial for us when the game comes out
Haven't watched the vid yet but just wanna say I love seeing all your tweets and stuff about how you and Yuna spend time, they're really sweet and wholesome. Keep it up!
I love how Gaijin's and Rurikhan's content are like related. Monster Hunter Dads unite!
You are a lucky man
Nerg: he's so well choreographed!
Hehe... he dance!
Are you talking about what "Pukei-pukei" means in Filipino? Because it's a slang for like, vageen.
Its basically pussy-pussy. 😂
@@Ser-Smiley and Tzitzi means boob in Hebrew, Boob-Yaku
@@OmerMeee get rid of the 2 'z' and replace the 'i' with 'y' you get titty-yaku 😂
I heard it means something else in Vietnamese. xD
It means that as well in Filipino? Because its also is a slang in Malay lmao
Finally someone is honest about Dodogama.
You said you need special skills to go against shara, I don't understand this. I didn't need any special skills for him and thought his fight was amazing.
Well, I'm glad I'm not the only one that thinks nergigante has a cute snore.
Great shoutout to Herny's videos, both his Rajang and Rathalos/Rathian video are excellent analysis on "old vs. new". I just which he would upload more stuff because he's immensely talented
:(
Talented ppl like him I find move with the wind, and that’s something we have to accept and just be happy when it swings him by us :)
Glad to see the *tru fax* about the superiority of the Bazelgeuse clan! :D
I love how your daughter made her own tier list. I find it so cute that you guys can bond over such a great franchise. Great video!
I'd easily throw Odogaron in S tier. And i guess i could place legiana there, barely
I agree, he's wonderfully ferocious and has great telegraphs for his attacks. When he's enraged and gets you bleeding at low health it can be quite thrilling to recover.
Same, I love the fast paced Odo-fight and the positioning based battle against the beauty that is Legina.
Yep same here, he is so badass and I really like fast pace fights soooo it couldn't have been better.
I also love Odo's armour. I usually use the Transmog mod and set some of his armour pieces has my armour.
When I saw you putting Rathian into C Tier I was like: Okay? This is getting interesting... Totally expected the casual Nostalgic S-Tier
Nah, Rathian and Rathalos are solid B for me. I enjoy fighting them, and their equipment is solid, buuuuuut... I just don't feel awesome beating them anymore.
20:25 Wait, isn't Azure Rathalos the flagship monster for MHG?
No Azure rath is a monster from monster hunter G from back in I believe 2005. For some reason he was on the cover art in place of brachy in the west for 3u though.
brach is the actual flagship
Ah wait you were correctly reffering to mh1G. I for some reason read it as generations. I'm actually not sure about his status as a flagship but he was on the cover art of mh1g, yes. That doesn't necessarily mean flagship though.
@@stormetro6046 He is the flagship of MH 1G
@@AstonMartinGT5 So it is. Thanks for the reminder to look at that.
I think the best way to remember how to pronounce Tigrex is say T-Rex but with a G.
kinda unrelated to the tier list but I just realized, Alatreon's "logo" looks like the MH rise logo, I'm sure it's coincidence but still makes you think...
The dodogama ranking will not go un-punished
There will be a reckoning
I think it's so cool you and your daughter can share in this together. Keep up the good work!
Gotta say man. I like the fact that your list actually has a bell curve to it. Most other poeple have a love it or hate kinda thing.
"The color is not meant to be a give away" hahahaha. I suddenly remembered this other video about the famous monster "Gomi" (Japanese name)
I love how in the thumbnail he put jyuratodus as S tier Lol.
Gaijin: I never found Dodogama that cute
Also Gaijin: Vaal Hazak is so cute
Love the tier list!
The +50 dislike are people who didn't like Alatreon being in S tier lol. Alatreon deserves the love.
@@D1ab0lical "I love his moveset, especially over his previous iteration, he is really fun to solo."
THIS.
@@D1ab0lical if it takes you more then 2 escaton judgements like 3 or more your probably not being as aggressive as you think also depends on weapon
Love the monster sounds you make lol
"This is going to upset some of you" no, no no, nononononono!
Love that you put monsters in order they appear in game.
And for immunity to status effects just equip appropriate charms.
Surprised Zorah wasn't bottom because it is mostly just hitting rocks. Different strokes for different folks!
Good to see I'm not the only person out there who was irrationally annoyed that I couldn't carve that Odogaron.
Man I really enjoyed Shara Ishvalda and I put him in S tier! He's my favorite final boss!
*gaijin puts him in D tier*
sad
I love his design one of the best design in monster hunter world.
I watched a lot of Monster Hunter World Iceborne monster tier list videos. This is the one I agree with the most ! Also your daughter has a good taste for a fresh hunter !
**sips coffee** it's gonna be a dam good day.
gonna be a fine tuesday
Lunastra in bottom tier is what I like to see.
As for Yuna liking Jyuratodus, all I can picture is that Antman meme "He's so ugly... I love him!"
hehe I love your and Rui's content :P
Love that you that Ruri are bouncing ideas off each other more often now along with the podcast. So awesome.
It’s so weird. I dislike Jyura and Lavas but I really like Beo…. and I don’t know why?
I just found your channel, so glad I did!
You put Beotodus in C because of his motor sound when he charges
Odagoron is so fun though... Fought it with DB feels like we're dancing in the battlefield with how I'm rushing him and how relentless it is
I want to go to the restaurant where you are given the menu and are asked "hey, what monster do you want to hunt today?"
I like piscines and funny enough I find cephadrome and Beotodus the most annoying of them all.
@@darkbritt265 I mean I do really like his coloring and Design but ice debuff is my least faivorite debuff...
I wish they'd bring him back.
i cant get over the fact that you're the wholesome monster hunter dad i've dreamed of
Beo goes into C because it kinda teaches you to use the clutch claw and exploit the monster's weaknesses
The thing that made Dodagoma S tier for me was seeing the Poogie in its outfit.
Not matter how good any Sensei is, Great Maccao is definitely the most difficult one of all.
**Kangaroo kicking and bagpipe intensifies**
Damn, i love Shara Ishvalda so much and it made me kinda sad seeing him so low, i have played all monster hunters (with 4 being the only one i still haven't played) i have hunted him tons of time and he's my favorite final monster(maybe gog will change my mind once i play 4) i don't think he's boring at all and it's also really sad that he didn't get a Arch Tempered version...
Hey man, just wanted to let you know that I really enjoyed this video. It was very entertaining and I loved hearing your opinions and hope you do more of these.
I love the vocal sfx you are putting here
we need the "questionmark system" back
i don't like the fact that there are always 3 monsters on the map.
I am so behind Yuna's tier list xD
Especially for Fatalis, Alatreon I might put 1-2 tier above but both fights, while I love what they did with both and I really want to enjoy the fights, it just doesn't feel right, especially when you didn't play as update came out and you end up doing these 2 end game monster with broken sets, especially fatalis, when you can't even unlock all monsters until MR 70 and 100 x.x
There's some other monsters I'd move up or down one tier, but overall I can see myself doing a similar tier list.
Would love to see an update for her list in the future, if you she/you 2 ever get to finish all monsters :D
So you like Juyratodus aswell? :)
@@draw2death421 Yes, more than lavasioth anyway xD
I jumped back on after watching your video yesterday and had a blast
Amazing video! Enjoyed a lot watching it!
