I started out as a tech in the car business in the mid 1990's. I could see then and a few years previous to that that the business was moving toward more and more electronics controlling everything. There are way too many modules in vehicles now that are not needed. It adds to the complexity of the vehicle and makes it impossible for the do-it-yourselfer to fix. Also, making all these electronic parts in places other than the U.S.is not good because there is little, to no quality control.

Great video. 👍
My 2024 Silverado is at the dealership for the second time in six months. First time was for brake system failure at 4K miles and second time at 12k miles and won’t shift from 3rd to 4th gear.
This is why I am keeping my 2012 Ford Focus Hatchback (with MANUAL transmission). Today's vehicles have so much tech on them that they can't work. Meanwhile, my 13 year old car has had no major issues in more than 176,000 miles, and it still runs like new. I don't need a vehicle with an electric dog polisher, satellite tracking software, or an automatic ass wiping mechanism. I don't know why they put all that stuff on vehicles today.
Just wondering, Do you ever check the stamp On the inside of the driver door to see which plants These trucks are coming out of?
For example, the one in this video appears to come from flint michigan
2024 Silverado 2500HD High Country w/1500 miles just died all dash lights came on, took dealer 3 days working with factory to reprogram it, now has 15000 miles with no issues 🫰🫰what do I want for 80K my money back 😂😂
I started out as a tech in the car business in the mid 1990's.
Smart guy right there deciding not to sell that 7.3 Powerstroke. My 2004 Dodge Ram 2500 with the 5.9 Cummins is still going strong with almost 300,000 miles on it
Mine too ! Lost one fuel pump, one shift solenoid under warranty
I hate those colors looks like they primed it smooth it out then sprayed clear
Me too I call them cream colors gross trend the tan is hideous too… so sick of gray , gm has had 3 shades of gray since2012…
I think the industrial gray. Hate it on a car though but looks great on a truck
Metallic colors look the best
I have metallic brownstone on my 2014 Silverado
Our Prius is a dark metalllic Gray
Yeah, it looks fabulous on the back of that flatbed....
Save yourself a bunch of money by a 10-year-old Toyota truck
Totally agree!
I was thinking same thing! When he got to the house, I saw that V8 Tundra, last of the great ones:)
Girlie truck my canyon can tow more and has more horse power
@@pzak5927 not with the dumbass turbo 4 cylinder
That’s not a truck
The driver seat is already torn.🤦♂️
My Ford Ranger in Australia is nine years old and I have had no problems with it so far.
My 2024 ram 2500 19,000miles on it and the front passenger coil spring snapped and collapsed. And why I had it at ram to get fixed the tile shaft of the transmission was leaking out of the seal
2021 Toyota Tacoma with just about 25k on it not one single issue no light on or recalls
I must be a genius, I'm still driving my 1998, paid for, Chevy Cheyenne 2500 truck. Yep, I've had to put some money in it but not even close to what a new truck would cost. My wife loves me for not spending her money on junk vehicles.
lol and then I get a chevy ad on this video... Thats hilarious. No thanks bud.. I'll keep my Dodge.
I wont buy a GM. Thanks for all you do Dustin
Buy a Toyota and you can drive it for 300K miles if you change the oil and do standard maintenance. Unfortunately US made vehicles only go 100K. I have owned them all and that is my experience!
Flame on !
Hate to break it to ya but Toyota trucks are junk now too
I gotta say i’ll just keep my 2013 barebones chevy 🇺🇸hd2500 gas 6.0 4x4 with 210,000 miles !! Still Pulling Strong 💪
Recently retired I would like to have an affordable and reliable pickup. But there is nothing new on the market in my price range that I would consider as reliable. The problems with new trucks are driving up prices on older ones in good condition. Unless my local mechanic can find me a reasonable deal on a clean used truck without cylinder deactivation and stop/start I am not buying anything.
Today's vehicles are total junk.plenty of suckers still getting taken daily..
My 03 gmc just hit 400,000 miles still runs great. My 88 gmc had 365,000 when I sold it and it ran great too. My buddy has a 2016 and the DOD grenaded twice already costing $4,500 each time. GM was rescued by the feds a few years ago which is shameful and now there is no more quality, it’s all big dollar junk and the CEO makes 28 million a year. For what?
Even the flagship Corvettes have major engine issues.
I wonder why GM does not have a recall on these vehicles
$$$$ 😊
My boss has a 22 Escalade 6.2 gas and the fuel driver module failed at 22,000 miles. Now he bought a 2024. Lol
Incredible. 22,000 is brand new
@golferpro1241 Yes really. He got upset at the 22 so he traded in on a 24. I know the 24 has the same issue but I keep quiet. Lol
7:23 The drivers seat is already torn on this new 24' pick-up.
That's a tag...
I have a buddie that bought a 2024 with a 6.2, it didn't make 4,000 miles and the motor locked up, said the motor is on back order, none in the states.
My 2013 GMC Sierra that I bought used six years ago has been a really good truck with almost no issues so far. Knock on wood.😅
How many miles on it?
@@Man_in_a_Gucci_Suit 50k When I bought it and now only 79k.
@@dongoble1792 that’s literally nothing
Our 2013 has 305,000 miles on it
Our other 2013 we sold at 300k
The transmissions go out at 200k miles without changing the fluid on both trucks
One had a fuel acceptance issue
That’s about all the problems we’ve had
How many current Escalades does he tow?
I’d seriously consider buying his 7.3 from him. Depending on the price way too far away
Your videos are great. Thanks
Enjoy your videos. Stay safe out there.. don’t think I will buy Chevy truck.. 🙏😊
I watched a news clip video the other day of a new Chevy truck that lost power on the freeway. The driver couldn’t get it to the side of the road. Several big rigs were paying attention and went around but then there was one that wasn’t. It appeared the Chevy was barely moving or stopped. The big rig hit it squarely in the rear with explosive force. Nasty crash. I don’t recall if the Chevy driver survived. It looked really bad.
I have the console shifter on my SUV and was fortunate enough to get it into neutral. As its trying to start continue trying to shift it into neutral. Worked twice. Once to push it out of the way second time different day same steps for the tow.
It’s not right but they all put out a bad vehicle from time to time. Ford, Dodge and don’t even get me started with the Toyota Tundra’s. Generally that’s a solid truck
Such a shame, I retired from a rental agency in 2013 that had been my employment since 2002. During that time we had Ford, Chevrolet and Dodge pickups, one Chevrolet gave a problem, a water hose spring clamp broke. Both Ford and Dodge we’re very troublesome.
Human greed has no limits, we made cars that lasted in 2004-5 now we made them so brittle that they destroy themself after warranty or in this case before
Business
Computers say 2500 miles, then quits
Local junkyard I agree with. I hope a class action lawsuit over this fuel pump issue costs GM millions
2014 F150 XLT with 5.0L 70000 miles. Dealership calls me every month stating has customer wants my truck. Good luck with that. Fanciest thing I have is remote start and power windows. No turbo bullshit. Awesome truck, easy to work on, love the 5.0L. My last vehicle I will own, would never buy anything new.
250K on mine so far, 300 K on last one before sold
My 1995 30 year old Toyota with 460.000 miles on it still has original fuel pump.
