New cameras are a great addition. Here's a thought on the soap solution to make it slide easier - if you spray the soap on the back side and the front and then move the vehicle up to get soap under the tire and spray more on the back side it might slide even easier. Thanks - I enjoy the videos and all of your professionalism.
Love the new camera setup- It's the way pro TH-camrs are going it seems. Nice upgrade. As for the paperweights you tow, GM hasn't made a good motor since the days of the non-AFM Vortec 5.3L V8 and the 3800 V6. But hey, they keep you in business and provide great content 🙂
For what they cost these modern vehicles are not very robust. If you fill the tank too full you can damage the emission control system. If you run the tank too low you risk overheating the fuel pump located in the tank. If you avoid those problems the fuel pump control module can at random decide to quick working. On top of that are the horrible stop / start and active fuel management systems.

Hi, excelente 360 cameras. About the break systems they suggest to unplug sensors or pieces to disable breaks. The problem that I had it’s after some dealer did that to change the sensor he broke the connector while connecting again. If the connector cracks you have to buy an expensive part because connectors are weak. So agree with you don’t touch sensors or connectors. Also great that after soap and oil you walk on the truck bed without problem, take care Dustin great video.
I can’t believe GM cars still have the fuel pump issue in 1981. My parents had a Cadillac Seville that had to fuel pump issue and it happened to it a lot. Just a tip for the Silverado and tahoes if you open then driver door and push the lock assembly in the door all the way up the car thinks it’s closed and you can leave it in neutral. Would just have to worry about the door swinging open
Spray a little brake clean under the rear tires on the deck when you can't get it in park. They'll slide like they're on ice, the brake clean will evaporate and leave no residue.
I don’t know why this video was so relaxing to watch. I don’t own any GM products currently but I won’t be so hard on them, every brand has its issues. In my experience, most foreign brands have the better reliability and that is troubling. I’ve wanted to purchase a domestic luxury full size SUV or truck for a while but all the issues and recalls concern me.
Had my Tahoe for 17 years, over 300k miles. Nothing major. Just ate brakes up lol. Wanted to upgrade to big brake kit, but couldn’t find a good price. Only other thing was the interior starting cracking. Got it new in 2006. Ms wanted new features. Traded for a palisade. We want to go to back the Tahoe now.
It’s like the Big 3 are competing to see who can make the worst cars. I used to say they are only building them well enough to make it through a 36-month lease, but even that may be optimistic.
look at all those cheaply made Texas track houses and there just a cheap driveways. I bet those aren't even 10 years old yet and already look a few decades. Same as the cars in build quality
The GM dealership near my home has gotten those fancy roller skate things where you slide them around a wheel, push the bars together and the car essentially is on four skates. They were pretty proud of those, "With these we're able to maneuver vehicles in very tight spaces if they're not working'. I'm like, you are proud of the wrong stuff buddy. Me and my buddy got cars when we were doing a pretty sweet internship, in college. I got a $21k kia rio, 2022, used in 2023. He got a new $30k chevy SUV. Till Dec 2024, his car has been in the dealership thrice for water pumps, fuel pump and some issues with the brake system. Mine has been in dealer once, where the water pump actuator was dislodged because of a very nasty pothole, which surprisingly did not do any other damage to my car, wheels or the tires.
That's why I drive BMW. BMW has a screw you can tighten to get transmission into Neutral. I like GMCs but, gave it up 8 years ago.. Dealership couldn't fix a simple flapping from a rear door. I told them where it was coming from :(
Only on the older models, and even those are few and far between. They all have the spot for the shift lock, but very few are actually equipped with it.
We're a GM family. My grandpa retired from them 25 years ago. He says they don't make em like they use to. I have a 2002 Chevy Blazer 4WD 4 door 4.3L. 180k. No issues besides regular maintenance. Don't plan on getting rid of it ever. Engine or transmission goes, easily get a rebuild or LS swap it.
GM can't keep the fuel pump running? Can't shift into Neutral? Expensive paperweights 😂 Wonder if you can just bypass the FP module with a simple jumper Power and Ground 🤔
my dad learned in the late 80's, he would buy ford and chevy and they would all have issues after like 3 years. he switched to Toyota and driven them like 20 years before trading them in for another toyota/honda. no major issues with toyota, except the alternators need to changed out after like 150K miles. 1994 toyota camry v6 - traded it in for a 2012 toyota rav4 V6 1999 toyota camry v6 - traded it in for a 2020 acura RDX aspec. 2008 lexus is250 - traded it in for 2023 toyota camry sport.
In my opinion, they have the best-looking trucks right now and overall have made their car designs appealing lately, but it seems like its convenient when they've been riding the tank bowl for quality, over a decade.
Like the new cameras. Wonder if you just drug it onto the bed, in gear, and GM would cover any damages to the drive line? Their designs, their expenses.
I only buy low mileage gm older products. Anything after 2005 is a crapshoot. When the 3800 motor was discontinued was another reason to not buy anything they make. The day my friends GMC terrain with all of 800+ miles the engine light came on and soon thereafter every other light did. That was it. Oh and don't get me started on the 3.6 oil dilution motors.
The C8 Corvettes have the same problem with no way to get the DCT into neutral if you can't start the car. The transmission requires hydraulic power to shift. There's a third party company that sells a little wrench for $600 to go on the transmission stub shaft but you have to pull the trunk liner and air box out to get to it and somebody has to hold it in position while the car is being towed. Seems like a really poor design and there are lots of guys on the Corvette forums complaining about it.
Question, certain models are either Awd or rear wheel drive, how do you know when to put dollies on the front wheels when it's AWD or just let it roll when it's RWD? Does it say either its AWD or RWD when you run the VIN when you look it up?
If you don’t have problems with that then you just have a collapsed lifter instead. No joke I had a 2021 Tahoe with 124,000 miles and a 2021 Suburban with 80,000 miles come into the shop a few weeks ago on the same day BOTH of them with a collapsed lifter on cylinder 3. They took an almost bulletproof engine design and ruined it with garbage lifters.

GM was rescued from bankruptcy in 2009 in part because the auto industry is the only major industry America has left and they have over 150,000 employees. It's looking more and more like GM hasn't learned from their mistakes.
Government Motors should be giving these away. They used TAX PAYER dollars for keeping them going. Used to be a Chevy person. I gave up then. Alas, anymore about all the trucks and cars are junk from day 1 and for sure half way thru payments.
I knew new GM cars were bad, but i wasn't expecting this! So glad im sticking to my toyota.
New Toyota trucks are actually worse. 😢
@@michaelw6277 Toyotas are nowhere near as bad as this
That is why I went with a 2023 Taco, hear the new ones are having transmission issues@michaelw6277
Dustin wears many Hats, Tow truck man, entertainer, production crew, camera man, tech man, video editor, products reviewer, customer service representative and 4x4 and race enthusiast. Did i leave anything out? 😂😂
That sums it up pretty well 😂
His wife is the brains of the operation! 😂@@Towtruck_Dustin
@Towtruck_Dustin 🤣🙏
Those Insta cameras seem to work pretty well.
I'm so glad I quit towing 15 years ago, this newer garbage is infuriating.
Something as simple as being able to put a vehicle in neutral...
You'd think automotive engineers hate tow truck drivers.
I’m really digging the new cameras! Great Video, Thanks for Sharing!
Hey 👋 this is Joe i think the new camera's are doing a great job I like them it makes it feel like your there with you ty Dustin 💕👋💕
Thanks for watching! Glad you’re enjoying the content!
Really like the variety of angles .. it's closer to what you see while out and about .. thanks! As another benefit of your channel, I know which vehicle brands to avoid. 🤣
On the Silverado is you simply disconnect the battery, wait a few minutes, reconnect the battery and it will start right up. This happened to my 2020, but only happened once and never happened again.
Shhh, don’t tell him that… he won’t have anything to make videos about.
Im a GM guy at my roots, however... I own a 2014 F150 and a 2007 accord. I plan to "upgrade" never. Everything sucks now!..... EVERYTHING is not reliable, what a time to be alive.
True. Even Toyota has been slacking the last couple of years. Who do you trust nowadays?
@@JBM425 Mazda 3 and Mazda CX-5 are quite good still. Not everyone wants or needs a hatchback / small SUV though.
Mazda and Hyundai seem to be the only ones stepping up their game these days. I'm a GM and Toyota person myself, but I wouldn't buy a new car from either one of them.
Buy a 2024 4runner while there’s still some left. Any new generation, even Toyota, are not reliable.
@@jasonjen6101 A real shame about Toyota. You could those vehicles hard and still got a few hundred thousand miles.
New cams look great. xtra surcharges for any vehicle you cannot shift into neutral might be in order
Nice one Dustin. Keep exploring and adapting. The new look is great!
Dustin, enjoy your new cameras. Dislike those vehicles. More work for you. Keep safe! Thank you for sharing!😊
360 cameras are nice 😊stay safe out there, you know what you are doing 😊great job
GM is the new Chrysler
Chrysler usually last several years and over well over 100,000 miles before issues come up, especially issues that make them fail/not start.
* I am a former Toyota Tech/mechanic and the dealers sister station is a Chrysler dealer right next door,my brother still works there..I owned new Toyota and Chrysler products and the only one that had issues under 80,000 miles was the Toyota, a serious issue to,the engine failed common for certain Toyota products/piston rings(car always used oil from brand new bought it new with 3 miles on it. I had a few modern Chrysler products a RAM 1500 and Challenger RT both had over 180,000 miles and 240,000 miles on the truck,no issues with them. I know people who had/have new gm vehicles and they seem to have more of issues that others..
@@MikeekiM-vh5seToyota isn’t what they used to be in the 90s and 2000s. They’re playing around with turbos, and frankly they’re just not very good at it. The Europeans are good at small turbos and so long as you do the maintenance they’ll be fine.
@@MikeekiM-vh5se i have a Pacifica Hybrid. going on year 4. no issues except for antenna harness. of course very low hours on ICE since my daily drives burn electrons instead of gas.
Never thought about asking a tow truck driver what’s the best and worst vehicles for reliability. Now we know who the real experts are.
Thank you for the warnings about GM products. I was thinking of buying a new Tahoe but not anymore. Hopefully GM won't send a gangster after you. LOL...
That is why my brother-in-law had GM buy his 2024 Chevy Silverado back and they sent every penny back to him 24 times in the shop since March is pretty bad.
i’m sure all the neighbors gossiping their pickup is getting reposed .. my vehicle had to get towed to the dealership a few years ago, one of the neighbor ladies walked up to me a few days after it was towed, placed her hand on my arm and said “we are all so sorry your truck was reposeded , if there’s any way we can help please let us know “…..
needless to say i had dinner delivered to my house every night that week from the neighbors who assumed my rig was repossessed , when my truck was repaired and returned the following week they started asking questions.. it was then i informed them they shouldn’t make rediculous assumptions and thanked them for the weeks worth of free meals ..
Wow, you’re a jerk
I would never buy a GMC product. That company is a total sham and people living in the movie Idiocracy buy them all the time.
Yup I would even buy a Ford before Chevy
Heck idk if there is any reliable ke product in the market now a days. Heck, even toyota and honda which use to be the most reliables are joining the junk piles as unreliable with engine issues and cut tranny issues.🤦♂️
At this rate, I will never buy another American vehicle. I want to, but the companies that make these are run-of-the-mill typical corporations looking to cost cut and sell you a lemon. I’m not rewarding their incompetence with my money.
Hyundai has its problems with the Theta 2 and Theta 3 engines.
Theta 2: 2.4, 2.0, and 2.0T 4-cylinder engines.
Theta 3: 2.5 and 2.5 T four-cylinder engines.
Engine failures, excessive oil burning, plugged cats, and rod bearing failure. The only Hyundai engine I haven't had problems with is the Gamma 2 1.6L 4-cylinder Turbo engine in my 2021 Hyundai Sonata Limited 1.6 T. It is easy to service and maintain. It doesn't burn any oil! The only one so far that I haven't had any problems with. I maintain my car like a Porsche.
The Hyundai 3.8L V-6 used in the Palisade is junk. Excessive oil consumption and engine failure is a common occurrence.
This truck rolls forward with a lever? That’s incredible! Drove a dinosaur of a flat bed years ago, a Chevy top kick with cat diesel.. wish it had that feature! This truck is amazing!
We were driving from Connecticut to New York one time the car broke down on the highway going to New York we had to take the Cadillac to a Cadillac dealer in New Haven, Connecticut, and have it fixed rent a car drive the rest of the rate to New York. we picked it up this Sunday as you were coming home from New York back to Connecticut.
New camera is fantastic
Glad you’re enjoying the content!
Thats what I love about my dads old 74 corvette a block chevy no air-conditioning no power steering and no computers just horsepower. I like the new cameras
Chevy, Find new roads?
Or Find new ways to get to work. 😂
Like a Rock (not moving on the side of the road) 😂
@Towtruck_Dustin oh. They are basically a Rock 🤣 🤣 🤣 I get it now. Almost went right over my head lol
Last GM car, my Dad bought a 1980 Buick Skylark Limited - one of the infamous X cars - 'nuff said.
Enjoy your videos. Cameras, info, humor, insight. Thanks!!😎👍
Good morning Dustin. I like all of the new camera angles.
That truck maneuvering was brilliant 🤷♂️ WOW
You have amazing skills and precision.
BTW: Your new photographical equipment is great. Just like being there. Love the 360 and look forward to the night vision aspect coming 🆙. 👍 Really well done.
I learn new things everyday from Dustin.
Really fun watching you guys work, resolving all the logic problems along the way. Shame that GM gives 0 F's about towing, jacking, and usability of their products.
Man you know your stuff....very respectful of other peoples property!
Does anyone know if the new fuel pump modules have been improved or are they just installing a new defective module of the exact same design ??
Just a tip for the Silverado and tahoes if you open then driver door and push the lock assembly in the door all the way up the car thinks it’s closed and you can leave it in neutral. Would just have to worry about the door swinging open
I don't know how useful they are, but seems like wheel skates would come in handy.
Spray a little brake clean under the rear tires on the deck when you can't get it in park. They'll slide like they're on ice, the brake clean will evaporate and leave no residue.
Weird...they took the most money from TARP, too
great video like the new angles
I don’t know why this video was so relaxing to watch. I don’t own any GM products currently but I won’t be so hard on them, every brand has its issues. In my experience, most foreign brands have the better reliability and that is troubling. I’ve wanted to purchase a domestic luxury full size SUV or truck for a while but all the issues and recalls concern me.
The new setup is great. Definitely a good investment. Camera angles are perfect too.
Much better with the 360 camera. Dustin ❤
look at all those cheaply made Texas track houses and there just a cheap driveways.
So do the Suburbans and Youkon Denalis have this same fuel pump modulator issue or just the SilverRodriguez trucks?
Love the 360 cameras! Really like your camera setup and the excellent content. Keep up the great job!
Had a GM Impala got tired of see that "Check Engine " coming on all the time so I bought a Honda HRV Sport,
That's why I drive BMW. BMW has a screw you can tighten to get transmission into Neutral. I like GMCs but, gave it up 8 years ago.. Dealership couldn't fix a simple flapping from a rear door. I told them where it was coming from :(
There’s a pop out panel on the driver side under the center console with a release lever to put it in neutral
Only on the older models, and even those are few and far between. They all have the spot for the shift lock, but very few are actually equipped with it.
Your videos are good cameras, and you are definitely doing their job❤
GREAT new camera views!!! Much improved and enjoyed Dustin.
This GM fuel pump module issue. Is it a issue on the 3500 diesel trucks?
CINEMATOGRAPHER Dustin👍 Liked, shared.
Dang, that truck's frame is flimsier than the one under the 'ol Marquis. I love the new cameras. GREAT VIDEO!
GM can't keep the fuel pump running? Can't shift into Neutral? Expensive paperweights 😂
Wonder if you can just bypass the FP module with a simple jumper Power and Ground 🤔
my dad learned in the late 80's, he would buy ford and chevy and they would all have issues after like 3 years.
he switched to Toyota and driven them like 20 years before trading them in for another toyota/honda.
no major issues with toyota, except the alternators need to changed out after like 150K miles.
1994 toyota camry v6 - traded it in for a 2012 toyota rav4 V6
1999 toyota camry v6 - traded it in for a 2020 acura RDX aspec.
2008 lexus is250 - traded it in for 2023 toyota camry sport.
I know you would never do this for obvious reasons but would a scan tool help to release the E brake?
The parking brake wasn’t an issue. The transmission won’t shift to neutral unless the engine is running.
In my opinion, they have the best-looking trucks right now and overall have made their car designs appealing lately, but it seems like its convenient when they've been riding the tank bowl for quality, over a decade.
I love the camera updates.😊😊
Like the new cameras.
Wonder if you just drug it onto the bed, in gear, and GM would cover any damages to the drive line? Their designs, their expenses.
So do the technicians have to repair the vehicle outside? How do they get it into the shop
How does that not damage the parking pawl?
Seen you going into the neighborhood and told myself that you were gonna go pick up another gm for fuel pump lol
Love love your new cameras!!! They are so much clearer and brighter!! On another note, GM has really gone down....very disappointing to hear that.
How do you get that truck?
Love the new cameras
Good!
How does GM take that car and bring it into the mechanics bay for repair if the vehicle is unable to be put into neutral. Do they use trolleys.
Wow gm is failing there production of vehicles!
G.M. is job security for the recovery business. Built like a rock that sits and grows moss.
That first location had a real prize-winner in the Broken-Up Driveway competition.
That’s just about every current GM model other than the column shift trucks. It’s absolutely insane.
Question, certain models are either Awd or rear wheel drive, how do you know when to put dollies on the front wheels when it's AWD or just let it roll when it's RWD? Does it say either its AWD or RWD when you run the VIN when you look it up?
GM products ensures job security in the automotive repair industry.
I winder if can use wheel dollys when loading on locked wheels or FWD/RWD to prevent flat spotting?
If you don’t have problems with that then you just have a collapsed lifter instead. No joke I had a 2021 Tahoe with 124,000 miles and a 2021 Suburban with 80,000 miles come into the shop a few weeks ago on the same day BOTH of them with a collapsed lifter on cylinder 3. They took an almost bulletproof engine design and ruined it with garbage lifters.
The new cameras and setup are great. Good job
6:13 is using the tow hitch to drag the vehicle not an option??
Hook that high and far back and the tires probably won’t make it on the bed.
