I purchased my new Ignitor as soon as it dropped and have been using it every day for about the past two+ weeks now. I absolutely love it. This is probably the best thing that 5.11 has released in a long time.
I have a love-hate relationship with this pack. Due to the airflow mesh backing, the rest of the pack is turtle shaped. It is curved so much that it restricts the inside cargo space. If you have a weapon strapped in, you must have the side straps synched tight, which leaves little room in the side pockets. The lowest portion of the pack against your back has a hard panel that can dig into the top of your ass. It wouldn't be so bad if the hip-belt could take some of the weight, but it doesn't. The waist strap/hip-belt flops around when the buckle is undone. Because it is so flimsy, it doesn't take up much of the weight at all. This means that your shoulders and back do most of the work. I had around 30lbs in mine and after 1/2 a day I was happy to take it off. Again with the turtle shape, it limits how much room you have in all the pockets and pouches. You really can't haul very much stuff (if carrying a weapon). The waist belt loosens under it's own weight when not buckled up. It is a bitch to tighten and keep tightened. I had to install a slider on the inside of the hip-belts to prevent the belt from constantly loosening. Also with the belt, since both sides flop around, they are always twisting and getting in the way. Basically, once you take the pack off, it is best to buckle both sides around the carry handle at the top that sits against your neck. The top weapon retainer system sucks. A simple strap with velcro closure would be much more practical and is what I'm going to replace it with. I love all the pockets and their locations. I especially love all the MOLLE. This allows a wide variety of add-on pouches. You can even have pouches on the shoulder straps. Although, the size of the MOLLE straps vary which allows the add-on pouches to flop around more. I bought mine specifically for lengthy fishing trips and for biking. With all the added pouches I can conveniently carry all my multitools, pliers, cameras etc. on the hip-belts and shoulder straps. The air-flow back really does keep your back from getting too sweaty, but the lack of back support is a bit uncomfortable. It really doesn't conform to the shape of your back. The top of the pack tapers down, which allows you to wear wide-brimmed hats. I bought a Tilley hat for fishing and was very happy to be able to wear it without it rubbing on the pack. The ample sized water bladder pouch is nice and the loops on the shoulder straps allow you to weave the tube through. I really liked this pack for mountain biking. It is much more comfy when on a bike because you are hunched over, so it conforms to the shape of your back better. I found this a better pack for biking than hiking. All in all I'd have to say this is a keeper. Once I worked out some of the bugs I was more or less happy with it. The thing I hate the most is the lack of space due to the turtle shape. You also cannot access the bottom of the pack without undoing all the compression straps and fully unzipping the pouch. It serves it's purpose, but it is not the Holy Grail of packs. It is expensive, so unless you specifically want this, you'd be better off with something else. I specifically wanted this due to it's design, but I could easily give it up if something better came along.
Beer Hunter real hunter mod their stuff heavy needle heavy thread, a pair of nose pliers to push pull the needle as put together ur moded bag, material short zippers something won't take long since sewing by hand, velcro, make custom no noise buttons with rubber, all my stuff got moded back in the day when we didn't have fancy gear, hockey tape on zippers silence sound and reflections, customized everything just needle and thread, it also makes u one with your gear, no one has it, the process becomes like a ritual whereby the participant can take his her mind to that special place, didn't have much money so I moded plus there was not one bag that says yes that's the one only zombies who think are awake are 100 % excited about stock bags lol got and an old soft camera case for instance, sew it were ever you like,,, I don't use machine I sew by hand nothing stays stock first off the bat quadruple stitch weight barring straps and other part that are only single stitch cheesy, if the best bag was stitched so seems would never come apart it would cost way too much money, so reen force it yourself , real hunters now how to hand sew basic very strong stiches
that thing is quite convincing. I´ve been looking for a backpack that suits me for quite a while and I might have found it in the Ignitor 16. Though, the major flaws are the (compared to the overall size small) capacity of 26l and the price of almost 200€! And that scares me a bit as the only rucksack I ever owned that was worth the money paid is my beloved ninetysomething liter Lowe Alpine Salient.....
buy a pack and heavy needles and strong thread and buy the material +velcro buttons zippers.and mod your pack by the fire with your new needle and thread, add anything you want
très bon sac medic en montagne aussi hormis l'absence d'anneau d'hélitreuillage (very good medic backpack in montain just a little problem with witching in front of french solutions).
I find it deceiving you show this pack with the rifle cup, but when you look at this near 200 dollar pack, you have to buy the whole 50 dollar tier sleeve seperate just for the cup portion. should come with it for that kind of money.
i wonder how comfortable this really is. 5.11 calls it a 'sternum strap' but that clearly isnt riding over his sternum (where it should be) and it appears to be in the lowest position.....
Shame that a pack with such nice features, also has so many design flaws. This has to be one of the most uncomfortable packs I've ever had the misfortune of crossing trails with. Nice belt, poor attachment to pack. Nice sternum strap, unfortunately most of the adjustment points are unusable. Nice inner frame, unfortunately it digs into you lower back, and we all like that now, don"t we? Mine is currently full of gear, i use it for storage, it lives permanently in my gear locker. A nice $150 duffel. Now...if someone I DIDN'T like needed to borrow a pack, I'd loan them this one.
love empathy and forgiveness sound mind self worth and maturity,,,,,mod all packs they are all weak in some ways, not enough stiching were it real counts heavy thread needles and nose plier and start sewing your modes onto your bag, sew velcro, small zippers, custom compartments sew lights on your shoulders straps and green socks nice fit to keep covered protect from lense scratch and giving away position, love and good communication skills development keys to adapting, good luck
Worse pack 511 has ever made poor design feels cheap with a expensive price tag. Disappointed with this i feel cheated. Would return it for a rush 72 instead.
My Rush 24 has been everywhere, wet, dry, desert, bush, beach... nothing has shrunk. It looks brand new 5 years on. I wonder if they've changed the way they make them these days...

Right on Beer hunter.
I think it would be REALLY cool if I could find someplace that carries this , in-store. I'd like to buy it, but no way without trying it on.
