Dr. H- you have an incredibly accessible manner about you. 😊This is my favorite series. The mix of hard science with a humble, direct and truth-seeking demeanor is highly magnetic. I’m what I call a slacker hacker- former trainer and yoga instructor - gym rat. I’m at the point where exercising “harder” is not going to be helpful getting through menopause so understanding different paths to vitality is highly valuable. ❤

Started Tirzepatide in March after decades of my weight yo-yo’ing and dealing with difficult to treat hypertension and NA Fatty Liver Disease. I’m now down 45lbs to my goal weight, am on maintenance dose, and my FLD is reversed and BP has never been so well controlled. I’ve gone from two high dose BP meds to only one med, and at half the dose I was on. Hope that I’ll soon be off of it, too. It’s important to do resistance training, drink plenty of water, eat plenty of of fiber and protein. I believe these peptides are the future of proactive health care.

To me this is a very bittersweet episode. It's not an easy realization that mainstream medicine has failed except in keeping people alive and sick. The alive part is obviously amazing, the sick part is not. Most medical research is also now very close to useless, only synthetic (patentable) pharma products are studied in incredibly biased ways. Bioidentical hormones, peptides and molecules (biologics) are largely left out in the cold or outright banned where they compete. Then we have amazing clinicians like Dr Koniver who have wealths of clinical knowledge using mostly biologics but it's siloed, hidden and extremely expensive thus very few can access this kind of care.
I love the part about positivity though, somehow we need to have a medical revolution. Vote for your health freedom!

Thank you for finally discussing Methylene Blue! My recommendation is to heat up 4oz of water (45 sec in microwave). Put the Methylene Blue in the warm water and add about a tablespoon of vitamin C powder. Stir and it becomes clear and won't stain. It also allows the vitamin C to pass the blood/brain barrier.

Dr. Koniver’s approach can be seen as both innovative and cautious in this respect. He is leveraging newer therapies that seem to have low risk of harm, but their full efficacy or potential risks may not be fully understood. This makes his methods more exploratory, appealing to those looking for cutting-edge solutions in health optimization but requiring a degree of trust in treatments that are not yet mainstream.

I was miserable because I was literally doing everything. Tirzepatide has changed my life in no time. I microdose. I still feel hungry and eat but it's just melted the fat off. My hormones are even more balanced than they were from the bioregulators. I have gained muscle as I train three times a week - hard. Andrew, I love your podcasts - they're consistently outstanding! While listening, I noticed something I thought you might find interesting: there's a subtle but meaningful distinction between initialisms and acronyms that even expert communicators sometimes mix up.
When we use abbreviations like BPC, FDA, NFL, or NBA, these are actually initialisms - where we pronounce each letter individually (F-D-A). Acronyms, on the other hand, are abbreviations we pronounce as complete words, like NASA or SCUBA.
This distinction is close to my heart since my own name, T.J., is an initialism. As someone who values precise communication, I thought you'd appreciate knowing this nuance! Keep up the fantastic work - your content is making a real impact!

I’ve been using your Neuroplasticity Super Protocol and NSDR practices rigorously, especially during 5-6 hour study sessions and daily workouts. It often adds up to 2.5-3 hours of NSDR per day. My question is: Could this frequent use of NSDR be beneficial, or could it lead to dopamine crashes from too many spikes?..If anyone else is curious about this question, feel free to like so Dr. Huberman might see it! 😊

Dr. Craig brings up a very important point (several times) that gets missed/ignored by a lot of fitness influencers... The act, and effort, of working out, is massively different between people who are fit, and people who are significantly unfit. For fitness influencers, for fit people, for Andrew, working out is enjoyable, and there is "good difficulty" - all the resilience, willpower, commitment, pushing yourself, making PRs, all those are ultimately enjoyable during or after-the-fact. For overweight or very unfit people, working out is a *different kind of difficult* - the machines never fit; the weights do not move well; joints hurt; bodyweight and shape is messing up a lot of movements; you're too weak to do X, Y or Z, you get out of breath too fast... quite simply, *exercise is not enjoyable if you are under a certain level of fitness* and it's very demoralizing and difficult to get to that level, where you can perform well enough to start enjoying it. And this mostly gets ignored (or is just not internalized/understood) by all the fit youtube people who tell unfit people to go to gym and grind.

I felt the same way when I started training 7 years ago. The reality is that you need to change the way you think about working out. Consistency is way more important than how hard you work out. Start easy, you should never be sore. The way to do that is to monitor your heart rate and build your aerobic base. Focus on zone 2 training which is a lot easier than you think. Check out “the maffetone method”. It’s a game changer. It will make working out fun because it feels easy and you will see results as you are able to run/bike faster at the same low heart rate. Once you build your aerobic base you can start adding light weight lifting and you will have established that habit pattern of working out. Good Luck!

Great insights! Emphasizing that NAD therapy is a long-term investment is key. A short infusion window of under 2.5-3 hours often results in faster NAD metabolism into AMP, reducing efficacy. Dr. Ross Grant’s work supports that sustained NAD administration over longer sessions is vital for maximizing benefits and cellular longevity. For anyone considering NAD, understanding that it’s not a one-time fix but rather a “long game” is crucial for achieving meaningful results.

    Rating: 6.1/10
In Short: Peptides as a supplement (whiteout mechanism)
Notes: Huberman and Craig discuss many peptides, with a lot of info on dosing and effects and discussion on their efficacy and approval. But this is really it. Hardley any mechanism, neuroscience, or 'fun' detial regarding how these work. Felt this kind of episode feeds right into a common critism of the pod where huberman 'just sells supplements'. Would have liked much more nuance, more stories, and more relation to previous guests and epiosdes (although did a little with deisseroth and attia). Felt this was redundant with a lot of previous pods and not really good for a general audience, only good for aficionado supplement users.

In this episode Dr. Koniver mentions methylene blue as a treatment for carbon monoxide poisoning. It is not typically used to treat carbon monoxide poisoning. The primary treatment for carbon monoxide poisoning is 100% oxygen therapy or hyperbaric oxygen therapy in more severe cases. These methods help to rapidly displace carbon monoxide from hemoglobin, thereby restoring oxygen delivery to the body’s tissues.
Methylene blue, on the other hand, is primarily used in cases of methemoglobinemia, a condition where an abnormal amount of methemoglobin is present in the blood, impairing the blood’s ability to carry oxygen. In methemoglobinemia, methylene blue helps by reducing methemoglobin back to its functional form, hemoglobin, allowing normal oxygen transport.
As a provider in an emergency department I think it is important to correct these mistakes as we have plenty of patients that demand treatments they hear on TH-cam. I do enjoy the show and want to keep it as credible as possible

@@craigkonivermd@craigkonivermd Awesome conversation. I was a youth Olympian/national champion sailor and randomly lost the ability to stand and hold any weight on my feet. 5 years later after hell I got diagnosed with Crohn's but seemingly no connection; it acts like greirson gopalan syndrome but surely it's an associative problem to the crohns. Regardless, I second the comment above; hard to find a physician who understands. Hence why I'm on immunosuppressants and lyrica, some nexium. I live off grid in Tasmania so I'm healthy-ish but it's undulating. Obviously this isn't your fight but any advice would be greatly appreciated. BPC - 157 sounds like it has great potential.

Dr Koniver, PLEASE READ! What is your opinion on the field of bioactive precision peptides which have sparked a transformative dialogue around their natural sources and potential for ingestion, proposing a shift from synthetic compounds typically administered via injection to naturally occurring peptides identified through AI panels.
The argument is that these panels have ingeniously isolated specific peptides in nature that may provide the same therapeutic benefits as their synthetic counterparts.
What is the feasibility of harnessing these bioactive compounds through dietary means? Can ingestible forms deliver comparable efficacy without the need for invasive treatment

What brand of sublingual NMN do you use? I only ask because as a lay person I find it difficult to know that it is quality with a reasonable price?

Love this episode. Question: How do I find the right physician that is knowledgeable and willing to work with patients to explore peptides?

watch out for dental staining with the methylene blue, if you have dental work on the front side of your teeth, it will stain them blue for much longer than an hour. for days. I do capsules just because of that and they work!
