    My rehab sucked they never showed me how to do this. I had to go home an learn watching videos on TH-cam. Thinks for making these videos for ppl to learn fall recovery.

    Peoples level of injuries are all different, I’m T6/7 so my injury is quiet high, which means peoples core muscles are different, and spasms as well, can be easy for some and harder for others. This guy makes it look so easy, we’ll done lad, keep posting videos 👍🏽

    I'm an old guy (53), but I'm relatively new to a wheelchair (3 yrs). I was always fairly athletic (HS lacrosse, college hockey, judo) and I still know how to bounce, but I have to say: I find it absolutely ridiculous how PT/OTs treat every patient like they're older than their body weight!! (I KNOW a very large percentage of their patients are old and frail, but we don't treat all people according to what's best for the majority, do we?)
    Bottom Line: I'm always interested in learning from younger users how to *LIVE* in a wheelchair, vs. not having an accident (oh my!). Thanks for posting this video, Jerry. It worked for me and I'm grateful - Thank You!

    @hptman glad I could help man. Theropist are good if they have a lot of experience. But I seen a a lot of young faces and pretty small girls that are not only inexperienced but are just plain weak. And either don't know what to show or are to afraid to take a risk injuring a patient. I showed a lot of new things to Theropist when I was in rehab. It was fun.

    I wonder if these things would work in my chair? My chair is pretty high compared to yours as far as I can tell from videos. I no longer use my anti-tip wheels (my OT's going to tell me off LOL) and don't know if it's just balance, or balance and luck that I haven't had a fall yet or even been close to falling, even with a heavy backpack hanging on the backrest lol

      Paul Herrera mine are actually pretty tight. But Most times i stretch alot to relax them. But i kinda know how to move my body around now so it doesn't seem like that.

      Jerry Diaz thanks for responding bro. I’ve been in this chair for 21 yrs now I got shot when I was 14, but man it’s been getting hard I need to figure out a way to make my legs relax they just want to stay bent and when they go str8 they get super stiff. If anyone knows of a way to help besides just stretching get at me. Thanks. Negz7601@gmail.com

    Nice video. What injury do you have if I may ask?

  • @jenniferksmrs
    @jenniferksmrs 8 ปีที่แล้ว

    I've seen so many different kinds of chairs an all kinds of different accessories on them. how do you choose the right chair for your needs an ability. I live in Missouri an the company I have to go through is called numotion. I want a cool looking light strong chair that helps me sit up straighter. I have severe spasms an they control everything. I love swimming an have lost weight but I hate asking ppl to help me get back in my chair from the ground. I guess I just need my arms to be stronger but all my weight is in my tummy!

    • @MRreptile13
      @MRreptile13  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yea their is a lot of different kinds of chairs. I'd always recommend a box chair. (The chair I have) It's the best! They custom make it to your needs. There are some steps to go through if you plan to use your insurance to pay for a box chair. and not every insurance will cover the cost. which is A LOT lower than most chairs they cover. makes no sense,but that's just the way it is. Injury level will play a big factor in doing certain things,but it's not an excuse to say you can't. Just gotta find your own way to do it. Work on that arm strength and good luck on finding the right chair! Thanks for watching!

    • @MRreptile13
      @MRreptile13  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yea brakes can get in the way. That's why I don't have any. But you can always adjust your body to avoid them. Just gotta find your own way to do things sometimes. Thanks for watching!

    When I was at the rehab hospital, they used the facing the chair,(lift & spin) have you ever heard of that way? It was hard back then, and impossible to do now...

    • @MRreptile13
      @MRreptile13  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      I'd have to see what it looks like. never heard of it. and in rehab they never showed me how to get back on my chair. I learned on my own.

    • @jamesshaw5590
      @jamesshaw5590 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      It's where you're on the floor facing your chair, with your arms on the seat & your head touching the back of your seat. One of the other posters was going to send you a video on it, it's hard to explain, and harder to do,You lift & spin your way back in your chair, taught by two little girls, that could walk at the North Kansas City Hospital & Rehab center.
