Had mine a few months now. Projector is better than expected. Camp out with a few beers and Wii sports on a 100" screen is a good laugh. It is ideal for retro games and the odd film. Surprised by the update to Android 14 and it was painless to do. Best phone I have ever had so far.
Problem is Mali is not very well supported for emulation. Anyway I rooted the phone and still toying around with it - seems to be a pretty good phone overall. If you root an you do emulation, try putting all cpu's to performance if you want the best speed. I know some of the emulators are trying to the best of their ability to boost the CPU, but the best thing I have found is just to turn it the CPU7's directly unto Performance. Although it make the phone lukewarm over time and use - so.... But you only need it while you are doing emulation.
@@RandomTeq Well, that tends to follow along with freeing your phone and data - I can't have a phone where my user data is not accessible. Google Sucks and so does the companies who followed this evil move of locking our user data in jail. And lost all my data trying to free it, thanks SO MUCH for protecting my data and privacy...... Loosing all my data and settings - because we are so worried about our users data while they ripe us naked in stealing it all from us, by spying and while pushing an overwhelming amount of ads.
Thank you for this. I'm a professional outdoor instructor (multiply skill sets) and I've also never owned, carried, or wanted a cell phone in my life (believe it or not...LOL!) I've been considering the Tank 3 since it came out and this has been the best and most comprehensive break down I have seen of the device. Great job with that and thank you once again for sharing your views and experiences with this phone!!!
Yes, it's IP68 rated, and there's an option on the software that helps lock the phone before taking it under water. I would strongly advise against it, though. Get a GoPro for that kind of activity.
@@RandomTeq Don't always count on that because they're constantly making new phones with features to draw in buyers. That means limited resources to maintain updates due to other models they currently are will make down the road.
Nice build but many problems. 1. No technical support in US or other countries outside of China. 2. Customer support ~ when it comes to dealing with China overseas to fix or replace these products you end up in long waits or getting brushed off. 3. No security updates and no IOS upgrades. For some that may not bother you like myself because there are other ways to secure your phones. Now by no means is this an attempt to steer people away from this phone because if you are into hiking, going on long trips or live in a region known to have power outages or bad to serious weather this phone is 100% idea for those situations. I plan on getting one but am waiting for a price drop. No way I will pay $700.00 for a phone that doesn't have security or IOS upgrades, maybe $399.99 but that's the most I'll pay. If China wants to compete in the phone industry they'll have to keep current software tech upgradable as well security updates. That's just my honest opinion.

Awesome! It's great to hear from someone who used it as it intended to be used!

Brave move, you can void warranty though, be careful.

Hello Jay, thank you for your kind words. Be safe out there. Wishing you the best 👌 👍
Please can you tell if it's suitable for teaching in daylight, I'm talking about the projector
It's viewable, but not ideal. I can do the job, but I wouldn't depend on it .

Shame about the lack of updates
From what I have read, they do release an update once a year or so.

I just got my tank 3 pro :) is it normal for it to get really hot as it charges?
Yes, alot hotter than the regular smartphone.

Yes, I understand they're not many, but they have announced one in May.

What A WASTE of a video! Zip on the SOFTWARE!! Out of the box, I have no navigation buttons on the bottom of the screen!!!
They can be enabled from the settings. By default, it uses gesture control. You simply need to change to navigation buttons.
