Thrifting is so fun. I love the mug and Clarks! Definitely a find. I went thrifting today and picked up a really nice pair off Dansk booties on the cheap! And some adorable plates with hummingbirds painted on them. I loved the synchronicity of thrifting . It can be kind of a battle, especially on senior day, but I still love it. Can’t wait to hear about Dr. Kildare. I recall my dad having a few of those paperbacks around when I was a kind. Good nostalgic vibes!
Looking forward to joining the next haul. The poetry book looks like fun. And no, I don’t eat Black Eyed Peas on New Year’s but I think that’s a southern tradition. I grew up up north, so that’s not something I did. Happy New Year’s.🎉
I don't know about the Alfred Hitchcock books for kids, but I definitely remember my Mom getting the Mystery/Horror Anthologies he was associated with in Book Club editions. There are some really great short stories to be found in them. Royal Jelly by Roald Dahl still creeps me out!
I love going to those types of thrift markets and antique malls! I haven’t been for a while but you and Michelle have inspired me to get out to one soon. My brother used to collect the Alfred Hitchcock and the Three Investigators series. I think it’s kind of like the old Alfred Hitchcock Presents TV show, where he presents other people’s stories and he’s just the curator of the stories.
I was 7 or 8 when the original Alfred Hitchcock and the Three Investigators books came out, way back in the 60s. I was given the first three books in the series as a Christmas present, and loved them. They were so much better than the Hardy Boys or Nancy Drew. I still have most of them (the first 20 in the series were the best!) to this day, and read them periodically. They still hold up.
Barbara, you are a Wonder Woman! I can’t wait to see if I can start collecting them also. But I have to read the first one first! Thank you for the info and I’m just a little jealous 😉
@@booksoffthebeatenpath Just be careful you get the original ones. 20 years or so after Alfred Hitchcock passed the publishers decided that new kids wouldn't know who Hitchcock was, so they replaced him with some characterless guy named Mr. Sebastien. Ridiculous! You'll be able to tell because the titles won't have Alfred Hitchcock in them...and I think they only released them in softcover.
I was so hoping for a soapy melodrama when you shared “Guard Your Daughters.” On second thought, maybe that could be the title of my book 🤣
Glad the books arrived safely, thanks for another wonderful video, brimful with variety & discovery.
😍
I like the haul of old books 👍🏻 Alfred Hitchcock children’s books sounds amazing hehe 😉
Thank you! I’m very excited to read it!

Paula!! Thank you for letting me know, I had no idea Alfred was so versatile 😊

A bag of corks would be mighty fine.
