The book that most challenged me and made me grow as a reader was one of YOUR recommendations….good ol Jane Eyre! It took me a long time, I had to read all the footnotes in my edition, and after I read analysis of the novel. It was so rich! Hey Meg, I know I already commented on your short reads, but if we’re voting for which to focus on, I would 💯 vote for the Dark and Stormy night. Personal interest, I see Anne as a librarian of sorts and that’s exactly the kind of nerdy romantic spooky intrigue that draws me in!

First of all, your cat scared the crap out of me! They waited for just the right moment to pop into the screen. Jump scare much?! And the story gripped me from the beginning. I’m thinking what did poor Anne do to be treated so shabbily and be rebuffed by her father? The mysterious visitor with the book of ancient languages is such a cool idea. I can wait to hear/read how she goes about doing her research and what she finds. I give this one three thumbs up! 👍

Out of your three stories I think the Grimoir is my favorite (can't wait to find out what/how she translates). Elemental would be a very close second (love that opening scene in the creepy cold room with the noises above) and then Zero (which I'm sure I'll enjoy, but I don't feel like I've met a main character or characters yet. It felt like a prologue so my brain is waiting for more). :)

I have no idea what “I couldn’t be parked” means but looked it up. Someone said in a forum that it could mean “couldn’t be certain”. But yea seems overly dramatic of Roderick. Overall the book seems overly dramatic with the victim even blackmailing his own wife-geez! At least this book gave us a chance to see your acting. Well done portraying a character 😉. That would’ve inspired me to read it just to check out that character. 😊
