  • Joe explains the different types of adapters that make the connection from single wall or double wall stovepipe to Class A high temp chimneys.
    The DuraBlack Stovepipe Adaptor is used to connect DuraBlack single-wall stove pipe to DuraPlus or DuraTech chimney support boxes. This adapter can also be used to connect DVL double-wall stove pipe to DuraPlus or DuraTech chimney support boxes.To learn more about this adapter click here tinyurl.com/qhg...
    The DuraBlack Slip Connector is used to connect DuraBlack single wall stove pipe to a ceiling support box. You will want to use the slip connector if you need to be able to adjust the height of your stovepipe. Adds 3"-13" of length to rigid pipe for a perfect fit. Only connects to rigid DuraBlack stove pipe and cannot be used with telescoping pipe lengths. Allows drip-free installation without cutting the pipe. For more information about the slip connector, click here tinyurl.com/mtk...
    The DVL Adapter is used to connect double wall DVL stove pipe to DuraTech, DuraPlus, DuraPlus HTC, and DuraLiner for a through-the-wall or ceiling support installation. Provides a strong mechanical connection. Comes in galvanized painted black. For more information on this adapter click here tinyurl.com/lmc...
    The Snap Lock Adapter snaps into the ceiling support box or finishing collar and extends down to fit into Snap Lock stovepipe for a drip-free connection to a DuraTech, DuraPlus HTC, or DuraLiner Chimney System. For more information on this adapter, please click tinyurl.com/kxs...

    You are so much better than all the Dura Tech install booklets plus the outfit that sold me the stove.

    Why do stovepipe manufactures make purchasing and installing stovepipe so convoluted.

    Inside? The pipe should go inside the connector.

    Do they make a slip connection for dvl double wall pipe as well? Or is it it only for single wall?

    Ok, so you connect the slip connector to the round ceiling support box. From that, do you need an adapter to connect DVL pipe?

    Why don't you ever go over the actual attachment of the chimney pipe to the adapter?

    Slip connector slips to the inside of pipe? It should slip to the outside! Right? That could leak? It must be on inside of pipe? 😮

    Ordered the mobile home kit. Why don’t you include the dvl top adapter from the square support box to the dvl pipe? Another week of installation down the drain cuz your “kit” doesn’t include VITAL pieces to install.... also had to wait another week for my bottom (stove to dvl adapter to get here that ALSO WASNT INCLUDED like it should be. 1 day project turns into 2 plus weeks..... maybe you guys should discuss adding vital pieces to your kits as we aren’t all professionals who know these things about adapters. You’d really save most of us days and days of waiting for 2 small adapter pieces that shoulda been with the kit to begin with...... other than my complaints, great products. Can’t wait for my first fire in another week.🔥🙌🏽

    I vote you should sell an exterior thimble kit that includes all stainless parts and pipe. You sell such a hodgepodge kits with galvanized pipe its down right dumb. Don't be afraid to sell offset kits too. I got an 18" overhang and I have piece it together.

    My question is how to connect a triple walled chimney that's going through the wall to a double walled stove pipe? I'm getting the triple wall duraplus 6" inner diameter/ 10" outer diameter through the wall stove kit w same chimney stacks. But I want to connect through wall to a duravent 6" double walled elbow and stack to stove. What is the connector to use in wall that wouldn't require 18" from combustibles?? Which is the reason for buying double and triple walled pipes in the first place 🤔 CAN ANYONE HELP ME, I SEE NOTHING ON LINE???

      Is the double wall elbow you are trying to connect to Stove pipe or Chimney Class A pipe? That is my first question. If stove pipe what is the brand you are using in the stove pipe? You can email your questions as well to us at fireplaceorders@onlinestores.com

    You have a contradiction in your videos. At 0:30 th-cam.com/video/ZVoB2b9QtVA/w-d-xo.html you say that you have 8" and on the same DVL double wall stove pipe and on this video you say 6" on the same DVL stove pipe...

    So if your passing through a ceiling you couldn't technically use single wall cause you wont get 18" of clearance from the drywall ceiling?

    Which adapter for the telescoping stove pipe to the round ceiling support and do you need one on the stove. Single wall durablack

  • @captainkangaroo4301
    @captainkangaroo4301 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    So, the single wall pipe can not be cut so you recommend a slip connector but the double wall pipe that would be even harder to cut has no such option.

    I have a support box already in my ceiling. It is 8" in diameter. I am running 6" stove pipe from my stove to the box. Do I have to replace the support box or is there an adapter that will accept the 6" stove pipe and continue on with triple wall chimney pipe? Or do I just need to change out the support box for a 6" one? Also I noticed the Duravent square support boxes do not have a twist lock design to accept the slip connector. How would I get the slip connector to fit the square Duravent support box? Any guidance is appreciated.

      @@pipeheadOR would you mind sharing it with me? I have the same situation you did. I was thinking of using a 6 to 8 inch adapter on the stove opening to 8 inch pipe up to the original 8 inch chimney box. Any info. is appreciated.

    • @pipeheadOR
      @pipeheadOR 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Sarah Suhm I ended up changing out the support box bc I was using 6” pipe all the way up. 6” single wall pipe from stove to support box and then triple wall in attic and through the roof. In the end I didn’t want to use the 8” pipe so I just changed out the box. The box that was in there was old anyway. I guess I never really got the answer on the adapter but sounds like you have found them.
