It depends, usually if you MUST wet it only wet it a little bit to tame it, don't wash your hair for the recommended amount of time though, and touching it too much within the first two days can cause frizz to set into the perm itself
Ashleyj1213 Great question! As a professional I recommend anyone with chemically enhanced hair to avoid chlorine or frequent soaking of the hair for lasting results. The solutions and color that are used are slightly rinsed out even with water. When hair is wet it swells because the cuticles slightly open and more so on porous processes hair. This is why there are are sulfate free shampoos and hair masques to help maintain the color or perm solution with a healthy approach. Hope this helps.
HELP! i got my perm 2 weeks ago and i don't shed when my hair is dry or wet with just water but when i comb it in the shower with my wide tooth comb and my fingers, i start shedding at least 3 hairs each time and in the end, i lose at least 40 to 50 hair pieces. I'm tripping and I'm scared I'm gonna go bald 😭
