I love Infinity war and Endgame, but the snap doesn't give off anywhere near the palpable horror and despair of the Third Impact. (This comes from someone who views EoE as a happy ending).

something that I realized watching this is that the "kids these days" have not forgotten about jazz. jazz just needs to be appealed in the right way to the next generation. in this way, jazz will live on forever.
The original obviously has it's place in our heart of hearts, but I legitimately feel this is a better realization of the song. I always felt the original was a bit (intentionally? unintentionally?) cheesy, but this kind of delivery and instrumentation really owns the on-the-nose lyrics/translation in a way only an earnest jazz singer can
I'm pretty sure the original was supposed to be, in way, similar to pumped up kicks. Both feature dark lyrics yet set to vibrant vocals and instrumentals. I think that this was done to accentuate the chaos that was happening while this played while at the same time elaborating on the themes present in Evangelion But that’s just a theory, a Gaame theory.
IIRC, the happy tone of the original was often interpreted as the moment one finally chooses to commit to suicide. I've had a couple of friends who had loved ones that committed suicide lament "I thought they had finally overcome their sadness, they were so happy just a few days before"
Even though i've struggled with depression and suicidal thoughts most of my life its things like this that make me glad to still be alive. Like Churchill said, "If you're going through hell, keep going."

I feel every word of this song, im at a point when my life should truly be starting, but it feels like it has ended and I have nothing. Ive always denied to myself I was depressed, but now i know that i have been for years now
something that I realized watching this is that the "kids these days" have not forgotten about jazz. jazz just needs to be appealed in the right way to the next generation. in this way, jazz will live on forever.
The original obviously has it's place in our heart of hearts, but I legitimately feel this is a better realization of the song. I always felt the original was a bit (intentionally? unintentionally?) cheesy, but this kind of delivery and instrumentation really owns the on-the-nose lyrics/translation in a way only an earnest jazz singer can
I'm pretty sure the original was supposed to be, in way, similar to pumped up kicks. Both feature dark lyrics yet set to vibrant vocals and instrumentals. I think that this was done to accentuate the chaos that was happening while this played while at the same time elaborating on the themes present in Evangelion

IIRC, the happy tone of the original was often interpreted as the moment one finally chooses to commit to suicide. I've had a couple of friends who had loved ones that committed suicide lament "I thought they had finally overcome their sadness, they were so happy just a few days before"
