If we take the following definition for death: the termination of life, then they are definitely not dead, to me, at least.
If you think about it, its kind of come full circle. Fly me to the moon was a song sung by Frank Sinatra, and adapted to evangelion. Then, the song Kom Süsser Tod is from evangelion, but here it's sung by a guy who sounds kinda like Frank Sinatra.

The song was perfomed by South Africa-born British singer Arianne Cleopatra Schreiber and musical arrangement orchestrated by Shiro Sagisu who composed soundtrack for whole series.
"Komm, süßer Tod" is not from evangelion. if you took the time to web surfing you would know this. it is a saying "come sweet death" titled in many pieces of art.

Ugh. None of you understand how business actually works do you. You do realise that Evangelion isn't nearly as popular as a show like Friends right? If they were you spend he money on Fly me to the moon there would be no guarantee that Evangelion's ratings would be able to make up for it.
Finally someone else gets it. Spending a shit ton for a song, especially one that plays at the end of the episode isn’t worth it. It’s already hard enough to even get Evangelion. It took years just to do that. Whining about one song at the end of each episode is stupid

This song cover got me through one of my worst months, it’s been two years now and I thank you for helping me give some comfort and something that resonated with the hell I was back then experiencing. I am better now, and if anyone reading this, you are worth it, life does get better, I use to see that as just a corny phrase but it is 100% true once time passes.

Yeah. End of Infinity War was great, but End of Eva is life changing... also way more frightening. The sense of scale you get with the Impact dwarfs what we see with the snap.

@@SV_Smog "dwarfs what we see". all we see of the snap are (granted beloved characters) a few dozen people geting dusted and some empty streets / memorials, in an event that is supposed to affect the entire universe. Third impact shows you a complete apocalypse. We see almost every character in the show essentially die in much more personal and effective ways. I love Infinity war and Endgame, but the snap doesn't give off anywhere near the palpable horror and despair of the Third Impact. (This comes from someone who views EoE as a happy ending).

The year is 2029. It's a small bar in Hakone, the air is heavy with cigarette smoke. Sitting in the corner is a young man with a look of unbearable sadness and resignation in his eyes, nursing a glass of whiskey.
Someone goes up to the bar, a woman with red hair. She's about to order a drink, but they catch him out the corner of their eye, glancing in her direction.
"Hey, who's that guy?" they ask the bartender. "What's his problem?"
"Oh, him? That's just Mr. Ikari. He's a regular. He's done some crazy shit, but cut him some slack, he...he had a tough life."
The newcomer strokes her chin in confusion. "...What sort of crazy shit?"
The bartender sighs.
"He ended the world."

"Is that so? Well, thank you for the drink." He replied.
The woman with the red hair smiles and says to the young man.
"You should enjoy it while it last."
He looks right back at her with a puzzled look. Not to sure why she would say such a thing to him.
"Because soon you will have to.......... GET INTO THE GOD DAMN ROBOT SHINJI!"

It has been 19 years since the first time I hear this song while watching The End of Evangelion with a friend from highschool. Still blows me away how beautiful it souned back then, and still does today. Thank you guys
Everybody be talking about how this song gives them an existential crisis, yet I find it to be extremely catchy and relaxing. Anyone else feel that way?
@@ShadeHaxor I've never watched Evangelion nor do I have any interest in watching it, I discovered this song after hearing it in a TH-cam video completely unrelated to Evangelion and I found it to be catchy, so I came here. I'm not much of an Anime guy, so when I listen to Anime songs it's usually after I've discovered them via other outside sources from across the internet.
@@TheEldritchHyena this song was playing during doomsday/apocalypse scene where people is dying, that's why it left 'great' impression on everyone's memory despite its cheery tunes
