The C & U Party has taken laissez faire government to such extremes that, as Mr Bryant himself said, there has been no government at all for nine months. I also would argue that that has been true for much longer. Cheers.

And don' forget, it was right wing backing city types who crashed the global financial markets with sub-prime lending. Labour has the unenviable job of trying to pick up the pieces which it was successfully doing but the rabid, fascist, lying right wing press kept pressing the "it's Labour's fault" button for the dumb British public in spite of it being a global problem AND Britain leading the way to recovery.

John Major trying to save face by pouring the BOE reserves into a falling pound.
Much the same as BOE was forced to do because of mini budget.
That money is gone for good and its the working people who have to now pay to build it back up instead of getting rid of more debt in the next 5 years.

This vote should have been about Fracking ! That is important . Both in terms of local and global environmental concerns. Truss - not voted in by the electorate has changed the policy on fracking that via the tory manifesto was voted on by the electorate. In her conference speech two greenpeace protesters were thrown out for making that point. I have no problem with a party electing a new leader mid term. But that leader should not make important changes of policy direction on issues as important as fracking ( or the economy} without putting it to the electorate. To force MP's to vote for fracking in this way is in truss's words AN ABSOLUTE DISGRACE. We get fracking because she is worried that tory MP's voting in line with what was in their 2019 manifesto reflects badly on her.
