'99 XJ here, thank you for this. mine was ~8mm, I used a 5/16" socket on mine. Damn that little light gtes hot fast. Guess I'll need to see about upgrading to an LED.
Had same prob with blower ...also the cruise control didn't work...found a pin hole in a vacuum hose under the hood...taped it and everything worked ....all from a vacuum leak
Does this just apply to the heater,my Jeep stop working on speed 1,2,3 only 4 works with ac/and heater .So fixing this would fix both? Also my air flow decreased and is super soft .I just removed it it was extremely rusted and eroded going to get the new one tomorrow hopefully my air starts working again.

Remove the glove compartment to access one of the screws to remove the cover
Thanks for the tip
@Axle's Garage thank you for the video, my air works again!
This video helped me a lot! I have the same issue with my 2000 XJ. Thank you!!!
Glad it helped
Excelente videoclip gracias 🙏
I'm buying the harness repair tomorrow my shit melted hope my blower motors still good
Hello. I have the same problem only 4 was working. Now the blower doesn't work at all. Is it still the resistance?
I cleaned it with sandpaper and put it back, work fine
good job
Would this cause my heater blower motor not to turn on also? Getting air only on high but no heat at all either.
Air on high only would surely be the resistor. However, air not blowing hot could be a few things
@@AxlesGarage yeah been looking into it found a few possibilities. Gonna just start with the cheapest and go forward from there lol. Thank you

Yep, it's amazing the havoc a small vac leak or bad ground can cause

it's for the fan motor. Same motor for heat and ac, if it only works on 4, then this should fix it.
What should I do if my plug is very damaged and full of rust just wire it to a new resistor?
You can get a new pigtail connector
@@AxlesGarage I did just fixed it, and it worked! Thanks for the video 👍🏻
Glad to help

Sounds like you need to doc your PA's paycheck 😆
